  It isn't that simple. No line skipped or pixel binned 1080p from a 20MP sensor will EVER look cleaner than 1080p from a 4K source file.

Considering it's only YouTube, the demo video looks good. A little over sharpened but don't see a dynamic range problem at all.

The iPhone 6 Plus hasn't even been released yet, but as of today it has been made obsolete for photos and video by the Panasonic CM1. This is quite simply a new benchmark for the camera phone, with an overall camera spec that beats every other smartphone on the market. The Android powered CM1 delivers 4K video and 20MP stills with full manual control from a large 1" sensor, sporting a Leica DC Elmarit 10mm F2.8 prime lens. Read the full article here

The Panasonic FZ1000 (see my first impressions here) is an absolutely fantastic camera for video. I'll bring you my full review and footage later today. However it had one very important omission at launch, the lack of 24p. The European model had 25p but the prospect of importing it and shooting PAL for US shooters didn't appeal. Panasonic has recognised this and will add 24p to the camera in a soon to be released firmware update. The update also adds Panasonic's new 4K Photo Mode which allows shooting of 4K video in multiple aspect ratios (3:2, 4:3 and 1:1) plus a better workflow for extracting stills from bursts of 4K video. The GH4 will also get the update for 4K Photo Mode but details are scant in the press release. I'll be very interested to see if this offers continuous 4K video recording in 4:3 ratio for anamorphic lenses, something of great use to filmmakers. Nothing angers me more than to see so much innovation go unnoticed by the masses who continue to buy unoriginal big-brand greyness for more money.   Anyone paying $1800 for this camera and shooting video when they could be using a GH4 is simply nutty.

With this model, Samsung have taken a step change in technological development to the market, adding the first ever High Efficiency Video Codec (HVEC H.265) along with 4K 24p and Ultra HD at 30p. The codec is a successor to H.264 and is capable of providing ProRes quality at 1% of the file size. The camera also features a large Super 35mm 28MP sensor. That's what the adjustment prongs are there for Tim. Widen them out, just under the EF bayonet on the front of the adapter, there's three of them.

Well you can't argue with full frame and 3 primes, lovely look. But you could have saved yourself the hassle and used a camera which doesn't infect the image with moire and aliasing from head to toe.

  I thought the 7Q didn't accept 4K via HDMI from the A7S at all, which is why we're all waiting for the Shogun...   What's changed?

As long as you're not zooming in the shot, bit of adjustment in post will let them intercut just fine. The 4K codec grades very well.
