Yes, ryzen 5950x with 64gb ram can run 3 stream of R5's 4k60p h.265 without problem, atm m1 can handle up to 2 stream of h.265 without lagging.

I got angelbird 512gb cfexpress at end so didnt use external ssd. There seem be a few Chinese brand cfexpress card on Alibaba that claims they can work on R5 8K, for even more cheaper price than Angelbird! $350 for 512gb!

Need desktop Ryzen to edit HEVC 4:2:2 smooth, 5950x can handle 3 stream of h.265 4k60p real time smooth, but then no laptop have the power of that. I m curious to see the difference between 8gb and 16gb for a bit bigger projects.

The current videos out so far is only doing simple layer edit, once you put multiple layer/lut etc the throttle will be more obvious

Basically it can run h.265 4k really smooth unlike his 10 core iMac pro, the video show his iMac scrubbing footage at slide show, while m1 MacBook play the same h.265 footage in real time without skipping, 8k ibp is almost smooth but 8gb ram is the limitation, 16gig is needed for 8k it seems? Export canon h.265 footage is almost 2x faster on m1. Export H.264 is slightly faster.

Thermal throttle is no fun though, unless you edit super fast

Ipad pro can do 8k h.265 editing real time, so I expect this M1 should do something similar

The current M1 only top 16gb ram, I think there there will be M1X with more core and expandable Ram slot for 16inch Mbp/mac pro/imac pro

3.Unlimited 4k30p 10bit 4.Better slowmo. 5. 5.9k 10bit internal I think for most people no 1 is quite important.. S1 is just too big for everyday use camera, but for working it is more robust.

Seems like the 5950X can run 3 layers of H.265 4K60P quite ok with 28-30fps playback speed, and H.265 8K playback smoothly with 1 layer, no proxy needed, all on full resolution.

I can see some noise on the slowmo/some night shot, and the white balance is a bit cold on some of those shot? The grade he use is not my cup of tea, I prefer this guy's setup for colour

Is that why up to 10,000 ISO the difference is not huge between those cameras, but once past that the S3 shows quite a lot difference?

With more LIDAR AF Add option popping the AF on Pana will be non issue, especially if u use cine or anamorphic lens, the AF from camera is not going to power those manual only lens. And most mirrorless AF lens is really bad at manual focusing, its good that Pana have the option to select focus through/non linear etc.

A7s3 ibis is quite weak, c70 with digital is about the same performance as Sony IBIS while Panasonic IBIS is still better than R5/R6, R5/R6 one could be improved if they fine tune it with firmware update. Regarding resolution, it so funny to see Canon user keep saying 20mp is a bit low while Sony user say 12mp is good enough 🤣
