Used this combo for a TVNZ job recently.. I tried cage stuff before but found it wasn't for me, I prefer minimalist setup.

I have 16-35/24-105 and borrow 70-200 on my EOS R for event type work, sometimes use primes for some artistic stuff or need lowlight On GH5 I use 12-35/35-100 again for event type of work, speedbooster the EF prime lens if i need more artistic stuff/lowlight. I do think about the 10-25mm 1.7.. much lighter than 18-35/speedbooster combo and have AF which is handy on gimbal. The reason for having two brand of camera is because people i work with use those two brands.

My 2nd GH5 body (with vlog too) is under NZD$1000 after discounting the lens/flash/adapter and only 1 year old as battery with it state it was manufactured in early 2018.. you can find some good bargain on fb marketplace, good thing I sold it when value is still high back then ? But now everything really don't hold value anymore after a7III and rest of FF bodies from other manufacturer comes out, competition drives the price down.

Still 24mp, 4k30p 420 8bit, and no log

The slowmo quality is better than any Sony mirrorless it seems (onpar with Fuji's slowmo) I guess it is a very solid 1080p camera. But would be nice if M5II have the same 1.2x crop option like 90D do, that one make 4K quality much better

The rise of the Chinese.. no wonder USA trying really hard to put a dent, but i think they knew it is inevitable, Sooner or later RED will become GoPro 2.0, Samsung will be no 2 phone maker....

5.7K is just barely usable for full VR, definite need 8K for that!

Btw the new AF module is TOF too, guess GH6 will need to equip with one to be competitive.

That is really impressive! Not sure if it can work on high frame rate atm. Bravo for Z-cam to surpass Panasonic on AF already in such short time frame..

Definitely recommend Ryzen, we just had new pc this year with i7-9700K, RTX 2070 8GB, 32GB RAM, 500GB + 2TB Samsung Evo SSD, it can handle 4K from C200 to an extent then start lagging a bit, with Ryzen should be smooth entirely.. Though render time is 4x faster than the old i7-4770 with gtx1070 8gb & 32gb ram we had, editing 5.7K 360 video is a lot smoother too

I am pretty sure gh6 will come out earlier than next A7s, because then a7s will be back to drawing board again ?

I m gonna say a7siii is never gonna happen, maybe a7siv or a7sv, they are going VI generation now.

At least sensor size is a lot bigger than ur average phone ones

I think 1080P is a bit better than R! On par with Panasonic G95/GX9 I reckon, their 1080P is improved over G85/GX85, but 4K is more gimped due to increase crop. Sony's 1080P is so bad in comparison, but their 4K is much superior Canon's 32MP 4K is pretty bad TBH.. worse than cropped 4K on M50/R!

Red is the reason why we cant have nice compressed RAW video on other cameras except Red

I had a73 and R myself too, i dunno about you but i can mix R's 1080p with c200/c100ii and no body tells the difference, a73 is a bit harder because of colour difference hence i sold it later. A6x00's 1080p is really soft which the difference is much more obvious.

They can, by offering Red the license fee for compressed raw or some sort of cross license deal that Canon and Red have done, or wait til Apple win the suit.
