Manufacturer's are not dumb, they don't want to kill each other to death as much as they hate each other. If you noticed we have 3 manufacturers releasing 5 cameras last week and they have different price point between the products

Crop mode might be actually supersampling from center portion (24/20mp portion? Not extreme 1.8x like EOS R), hence better quality and have warning of overheating when you select this option. EOS R's 1080p in APSC mode is also supersampling hence better quality than FF 1080p

6K have better rolling shutter than 4K?

I really like the AI powered editing app, they select and edit the footage for you, now if they can also edit wedding/corp it will be the real winner, I just shoot and let AI edit ?, would save soo much time lol

Yeah, the a7s/s ii is the best 1080p cam from Sony, none of Sony's latest mirrorless offering can touch it on 1080p quality

Sorry but Canon's 1080P with digic 8 is much sharper than most Sony's 1080P (except A6000/a5100) A7II video quality is meh.. I used it once one on the wedding and quickly got a7rii afterward to pair with my FS5/a7s back then. Bitrate isn't everything, the 35Mbps MP4 from c200 is much better than xavc-s 50Mbps at 1080p or the 60Mbps IBP on EOS R..

No you are not alone. I mostly shoot 25/50p here, no one asked me to shoot 30p/24p, I do get occasional 60P request

4K is uncropped, now just waiting to see if 4K is also DPAF or CDAF like m50/rp

My friend try the new nvidia acceleration options on his rig which is i7-7700 (4c8t) with RTX2080, his rendering of a 2:30hr video in FHD drop from over 1hr to 15min.. pretty impressive boost! He said he got about 70% utilisations on the GPU, with adobe premiere it barely using any GPU..
