The GH2 is still hackeable and I think at the moment is the best HDSLR for video and will be one of the best for a while. I bought on amazon. I started with the Panasonic Hpx 170 (very similar to 150, just change the card) and three months ago I switch to GH2. On video we are familiar with the zoom lens ,but I think the great power on GH2 are the prime lens to get the best image. A good zoom lens (bright one and constant iris) is very expensive, big and heavy. For run and gun style I suggest to have the 14-42 or the 14-140, but the best image must been made with a prime lens. Now I like to focus manually and to move the iris on the lens. I don't use panasonic automatic lens. Of course that's a personal choise and style... I have the 14-140mm but I didn't like to use it, but I want to practice with it for Run and gun ocasions. I suggest three lens to start: 1. 12 mm 1.6 slr magic ( 500 us) 2. 24 mm 2.0 Canon FD (Don't know the price but it should be cheap) 3. 50 mm 1.4 Canon FD ( 200 us I think) The Nokton 25 mm 0.95 is my dream , I don't have it yet. It cost money but great lens are expensive... Saludos.

I think you need the 25 or 24 . These is a standard focal lenght. Not wide, not tele, it's on the middle. I got the canon FD 24mm 2.0 . It's is very good but I didn't find on ebay right now. Maybe is hard to find. Another option is the canon FD 35 mm 2.0 I use for the moment just canons FD. Good glass and construction for the price. For wide shots I got the slr magic 12mm. It's a fantastic lens. More expensive but really great. Saludos.

Hi, Has anyone experience with some good ND Variable. I have one but when there are some reflections on things , then I got some ghost image on the lens. There are so many ND variable on the markets. For example we have a lot of Fader and don't know which one is a good one. Some said they are Multicoated but I don't trust on them because the low price. A multicoated glass is expensive to make. Who knows or has the heliopan? Thanks. Francisco.

The aspect depends only on the anamorphics (1.33x, 1.5x, 2x). The exception is when you shoot on 4:3 aspect in motion JPEG vga mode. Example: On avchd (16:9) with 2x anamorphic you get 3.55 aspect On JPEG vga mode (4:3) with 2x anamorphic you get 2.66 aspect ( note: you can record 30p ,not 24 on this mode) Do you have the Andrew's anamorphic Book? I just want to share these anamorphic lens shoot. Please excuse me the focus and the video in general. This is my first footage with the Moller lens. The anamorphic vision's world is really fantastic and now I like very much the 3.55 aspect. The Andrew's intra frame patch works great on the camera with sandisk extreme 30MB/s and it looks just great on screen. I use FCP7, I don't know how to handle the aspect on Premiere. For my experience , I suggest to buy and use Canon FD. They are totaly manual with aperture and focus ring. The canons FD are manual and not expensive at all. Good glass, excelent focus ring. I used to have the nikon 50 mm 1.4 AF-D and the 28 mm 2.8. But I change them with a friend to the Canons FD. Both are fine but I prefer the canon's focus ring. Now canon use a new mount and electronics aperture, so the old FD canon's lens are not compatible with the canon's new era. But we (gh2 users) are very happy because we just need an adapter and you get fantastic glass at low prices. I hope it helps. I don't have any experience with electronics canon lens. I know that a good one is much expensive than a canon FD. Saludos.

I use a Imac 27 Middle 2010 with 12 gb ram. The software is Premiere pro CS5. For my experience works great. I don't use it for 3D or heavy special effects. For narrative stuff with color correction is fine. I prefer the IMac design more than a PC with CUDA and all this things. It's personal choice and I think it depends of your work . Saludos.

I'm shooting with the intra frame patch from Andrew. It works at 88Mbit AVCHD Intra. I use sandisk card class 10 ,30 mb/s. The patch is fantastic and works great with the card. No problem at all. I can record 12 minutes without stop. 16 gb cards means 24 minutes for recording. The blacks of the image are amazing. My question is about post. I use premiere pro CS 5.0. I made two diferente sequence for test and edit the footage: 1. avchd 1080p24 2.AVC-Intra 100p24 I can edit with boths, but I think works better with the avc-intra. Can anyone share your experience with Premiere and this patch? I want to know the right way to set the sequence in premiere for this patch. Thanks.

I know that Christmas already past, but I would like to ask specially for the GH3: 1.Better batteries, maybe a grip? 2.The chance to shoot 4/3 mode with avchd. Could it be? Or it's only posible in MJPEG? If so, 24p for MJPEG 3.Better screen 4.Please Mr.Panasonic don't change the size, so I can still use my Rewo 2.0.... 5.Better sensor of course for dinamic range 6.Better focus help like the new canon'hack. 7.Uncompressed HDMI 8. 9. Sorry I forgot we are talkin about DSLRs and not only of the new baby "GH3" Saludos!
