The two posted samples videos, do not bring confidence either, looks like gh4 video with premiere warp stabilised applied. I have hope that Andrew can establish some kind of communication with the hacker.

Is someone ready to try this hack? http://lightsnowdev.blogspot.com

Theoretically the Samsung NX1 is the most closed thing to my perfect camera.

Official firmware update brings XAVC-S and 120fps to Sony RX10
xenogears replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I have this strange feeling of been happy with this upgrade, even when i don't have the RX10 but still like a great option, just waiting if Sony will gonna realease a similar upgrade on the a6000, otherwise i will get the RX10. P.D: I wish the a77 MKII also have this upgrade. -
If sony And If don't do, i will buy the RX10 ;)

The problem i see with all this lenses is that all of them are Tele with the almost 3x factor of the BMPCC, a 150mm will become like a 400mm in 35mm equivalents, try to look for lenses at 25mm and lower.

5 reasons the Olympus E-M1 will NOT get 4K video!
xenogears replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I considered happy if Olympus at least improved the 1080p image add 24/25fps option or allow uncompress and clean HDMI live view output. -
First Olympus give us a very basic video option on the OM-D cameras and now from the night to the day they will gives us 4k? come on. For me the option will be allow to see picture through HDMI to a 4K TV. Anyways, i will be very happy if Olympus just improve the 1080p image and give more recording options.

Between the Nex 5n and the GH2, i will recommend you the GH2, maybe is not the best for lowlight situations, but the image is much more cleaner than the Nex 5n, the GH2 do not overheat, has no time record limit, and have mic input.

For what it says on the Metabones page the Sigma 18-35mm is fully compatible with the BMPCC SpeedBooster, but i wish to know if someone else has tried the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 OS with any version of the SpeedBoster to see if compatible. Right now i'm very interested on this because the Pocket at $500 is a nice 2nd camera for my setup and i thinking to acquire both Sigmas Zoom mentioned.

The Panasonic 14-50mm is a Four third lens, so autofocus is really very slow on micro four thirds camera except the Olympus Om-D E-M1 and is a little heavy too. the best lens with autofocus and even more if you're using Lumix cameras, is the 12-35mm f2.8, obviously is more expensive but you get a constant aperture zoom lens with silent autofocus and wider field of view than the 17mm. About the generic FT to M4/3 adapter i never try the cheap ones, only have the MMF-3 because the weather resistant option to use with the E-M1.

I'm still using the FS100 because i do many long medical speech recordings, sometimes the speaker take up to 40mins in a speech, also many of the places are really dark or with dull lighting, so the FS100 is my A cam because of this, the image is very clean and with great resolution with these videos i create multimedia apps, right now i'm evaluating and saving for a Sony a7s to use in beauty shots and Photos, i do own a GH3 and a OM-D but the DR is not the best for what i want to accomplish, still so i really do love to use the Om-D for photos because the stabilization is just amazing, not all needs are the same.

On mine, it open AVCHD Lumix files but the Sony Nex ones not.

Surprise! Sony Alpha A6000 video mode huge improvement
xenogears replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
A fast answer, yes! -
I use the GH3 as B cam for the FS100, even is the only cam i take with me to certain jobs, right now i'm saving for the GH4, but the GH3 still a great camera, the GX7 as i read in many sites it suppose to have: -A cleaner and sharper image than the GH3. -Peaking. -Better EVF. The GH3 have over the GX7: -Live hdmi output -Audio input. -Earphone jack. -Weather resistant and rigged body. -Bigger battery and battery grip option -Swivel screen. In my case the GH3 is a more complete package because have options that are very important to me, allowing me to use in a more variety of job assignments. Is no a matter of what camera is best, is about of what camera adapt best to your own requirements.

The only "maybe" good option for Sony FE cameras will be the 28-135mm f4, expected launch at last quarter of the year.

According to metabones, the Canon 24-105mm F4 is manual only on the Smart Adapter III, i have the Zeiss and is not better than the Canon optically speaking and have focus by wire, but have a fast autofocus, OIS and smaller, this is something to consider. If you do not mind using the lens manually and only for video the Canon is a better option.

I don't think there some dedicated cage for the g6, but a generic one like the Gearbox GB2 can work: http://www.photographyandcinema.com/collections/camera-cage/products/gearbox-gb-2-video-accessory-cage-w-15mm-rod-adapter

Panasonic GH4 firmware goes final and shipping soon?
xenogears replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
It's looks like the info screen on the GH4 it keep on when is recording, somebody can confirm this. -
If Sony has just change the sensor on the a7s allowing to do full frame readout due to the lower pixels density with the same Bionz X processor across the a7 series camera (this is what i think is more expensive due to the time involve on R&D), then the a7 maybe have the capacity to do a full sensor readout at least to get a HD image something that Sony has cripped on this camera, strange becasue no too long ago Sony announced the a7 as the Fullframe camera for video, but it leaves us with a image not much better than the last year series camera as the a99. If this is partially true then the A7s it shouldn't be more expensive to produce than A7R.

The 5D MKIII is a great option for stop motion type videos (used on ParaNorman) or low light photography, and even for video with the ML RAW recording, but the new Sony a7s it's looking great too with the suppose better lowlight performance and with the 4K recording capability, for me at least on paper for motion graphic videos the a7s is a better option due to the lens flexibility allowing to use a infinity of great lenses, obviously if do you already own Canon glasses the 5d is the option to get, i think that both cameras works with animation software as DragonFrame for stop motion works. I do love the GH4/GH3 for video work but not this particular kind of work, do you need great Dynamic Range and clean lowlight performance, and between these 3 cameras the GH4 is not the stronger on this subject. Good luck!
