If i remenber correctly you must export the XML file from FCP and then import to Premiere Pro, i do that 2 year ago and work without problems, but the edit must be rough cut no effects.

I'm looking to change from the Sony Nex and DSLT cameras (own a 5n and the a77), and this one it looks it fill good in my check list. I will wait for the Nex 7n announcement to compare (i personally love the Nex), but i'm sure my a77 will go to Ebay to make the change for the Nikon D7100. Waiting to see the video comments and tests.

I have my concerns too about the Aperture issue with the GH3, but i read somewhere (trying to remembering where) this issue is do not happen on the GH3 but in the GH2.   My other concers with the Lumix lens is the construction quality, my 14-140 lost the zoom band with the use; so, i hope this not happens on a $1000 lens.

I'm totally sold on the BMCC, i'm a postproduction guy and 12bit 4:2:2, 2.5k resolution for green screen work, the BMCC is a bless for compositing.

Many people are asking to Jhonnie about the moire and aliasing, because in the video is doesn't show up so bad. But i think maybe the 60p recording is what create the problems he sees.

Is true what Andrew says about the moire, the Nex 5n have a nice image but have aliasing problems and moire too, even overheating, but that doesn't stop me to work with it, i'm falling in love with the GH3 features and more since the Sony a99 wasn't what i expected, also is true that many of the complainers are just tech junkies and maybe never shot something worthy with their cameras. Right now, i don't think there be other camera with so many features as the GH3 and at $1300 tag price, no way. @Andrew, great review by the way.

If photos are you primary work the Nex 5n have a better image, but is you plan to use the camera for video work, then go for the GH2, simple as that. The 5n overheat, have aliasing and moire problem, some have a click sound that can be capture by the internal microphone, and the image has much less details than the GH2.

I'm a Alpha/Nex Sony user, but if you want go mainly on video, the choice is the GH2, the only complaint to me of the GH2 is the IQ compared against the Sony, but the GH2 has many advantages over the Sony alpha: -No time limit recording. -Manual audio control. -Big lens selection. -Quality of the video thanks to the Hack.

The 5n over the Olympus? yes. But if you can wait to November i recommend you the Nex 6, more features in little bigger package, in theory the same image, maybe no overheat, and new lens coming too! Correct me if i'm wrong, but this new sensor mean a additional crop on the GH3? The GH3 will be by far the best hybrid camera around and with a unbeatable price. When the GH2 came many GH1 owners don't justify the upgrade. One of things i wish to have with the GH3 is a proper XLR audio input. The way that Sony implement the XLR audio input on the Alpha camera is very cleaver solution but expensive one, even they include a silent know (Canon first) for proper adjustment when recording, but fail miserable in video quality. They give uncompressed 8Bit 4:2:2 to get a better image using external recorders, but is look like the aliasing and moire will be stay there, so? almost became a great multimedia camera. Many argue about proper sound in DSLT cameras but this cameras has become the new tool for documentary work because the many advantages they gave us. I'm from Venezuela, a country with a increased security problems and inaccessibility to good film gear, every day we hear about dead and robbery as common issue on our society. So the need for a tool that can go imperceptible to work is really welcome, even TV spots are done with this type of camera, i have done like 4 spots with the GH1, 3 spots, 4 documentaries, 2 music clips with the Nex 5n, now i'm looking for the best DSLT camera to upgrade and the GH3 and the Alpha a99 are my first options and the 4:2:2 is a needed option for me, because I'm mainly a postproduction guy. I'm extend this writing just to justify my point; if you don't need a option of your camera doesn't mean that other don't need it. My analysis for my next buy, pluses and minuses: Lumix GH3: +Nice codec +Adaptable lenses -The 8Bit 4:2:0 is a little let down in my list, hoping for 4:2:2 for better green screen work -Lack of a XLR adapter as Sony. Sony a99: +Uncompressed 4:2:2 +EVF and LCD screen -Aliasing and moire problems -AVCHD codec So? i guess i will go for the GH3.

No peaking and no XLR adapter? even so, will make me switch from my Sony Nex.

Not a DSLR, but for green screen work at good price hardly can find something better than the Blackmagic Cinema Camera: -12Bit CinemaDNG RAW for great color information - 2.5K resolution for better compositing because the size. Is really a great postproduction camera ;)

The main thing that Sony must learn from Canon is about the quality of the construction of the cameras, is really the best construction no by design but for materials and ergonomics.

If the price were at $4000 could be a killer cam, but at that price is better to go with the FS700. Is like a FS100 with ND filter, better construction and ergonomics, but for $4000 more, i don't think so.

Until now looks like a upgraded A77, i have hope Sony will improve the video on this new Alpha.

The Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 sound good too, slower than the Tokina 11-16mm, yes, but has a longer reach. In my case for VFX works the BMC with this Sigma will do just fine, is not the king of the high ISO but i never have to do work without lights so a clean ISO up to 800 is enough for me.

I have great expectations and big doubts too about the VG-900, how a camera with better sensor could be cheaper than the Nex EA50 with a ASPC sensor and a $4500 price tag, hope for not to be a consumer product. The VG-900 need at least manual audio with 1/4" jack audio inputs as the BMC (Better if is XLR), clean and uncompressed 4:2:2 HDMI output, Picture profiles and even better with curves as the Olympus OM-D, buttons please not just touch menu operations. Photokina will bring great news for the independent filmmaker.
