  1. It is a great body but it still using a non-stacked sensor which Fuji and Olympus had a couple years ago already.
  2. I am looking forward to see what Canon has planned in 2025 for APS-C. This will also force Nikon and Sony to start taking APS-C more seriously, providing more competition for the GH7 and Fuji. https://www.canonrumors.com/there-are-a-couple-of-higher-end-rf-s-zoom-lenses-coming-with-the-eos-r7-mark-ii/ We have been told that Canon will be shaking up it’s APS-C line “significantly” later in 2025. It sort of sounds like there are going to be some deparatures instead of simple Mark II versions of the APS-C line. The EOS R7 Mark II will be the first APS-C Canon camera to get a stacked sensor. There was no word on the resolution of the new sensor, but it would be cool to see it go slightly above the current 32.5mp to give it 8K capabilities. As we’ve mentioned before, and we’re being told again. The EOS R7 Mark II will be going “up market”, so it may be a true EOS 7D Mark II successor.
  3. Panasonic's biggest mistake was not introducing PDAF with FF from the very beginning in 2019. Then they could have rolled out PDAF to updated m43 bodies. Instead we still had the GH6 introduced in 2022 without PDAF and other missteps, which required the GH7 to fix just 2 years later. The GH6 had one of the shortest shelf life for a GH body. The last 5 years was a great missed opportunity for Panasonic from a marketing perspective.
  4. This is a bit surprising from Leica. I wonder if this would also work for the LX100. https://leica-camera.com/en-int/photography/cameras/d-lux/d-lux-8/downloads
  5. Gerald did receive the GH7 from Panasonic.
  6. Gerald had this comment from his GH7 review. (Yes, Panasonic did send him a copy) 🤣
  7. The mount is definitely m43.
  8. I suspect many have had the GH7 for a few weeks now. Ambassador Ben Staley will be showing a new Short film this coming Saturday that was partially filmed with an unreleased Lumix camera, showcasing its action capabilities. https://www.cinegearexpo.com/programs/la/cine-gear-news-la-expo-2024.pdf
  9. 2 years is very short for a GH series camera. Yes, I think they were invited to see the GH7 and at some point Panasonic decided to show the S9 as well. I think Gerald decided not to go based on the GH7 and was upset he missed the S9. It sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me. I am surprised it got the play time it did. But that is social media for you.
  10. Panasonic Japan has now discontinued the GH6, so it looks like the GH7 is coming. This is likely what the GH6 should have been. https://panasonic.jp/dc/p-db/DC-GH6_manualdl.html
  11. The rumor site confirmed today that there is no mechanical shutter and the pancake prime is a very slow lens cap lens.
  12. I thought I would resurrect this thread as it looks like Logitech will be announcing a new MEVO product on the 17th with the m43 sensor/mount. The video specs are not great but it will be interesting to see how far they take this. The 6400mAh battery should provide a very long run time. https://asobinet.com/logitech-announces-micro-four-thirds-camera-for-live-streaming-on-march-19/ Interchangeable lens camera Mevo Core micro four thirds system Dual USB-C ports 3.5mm audio interface HDMI output microSD card slot 6400mAh replaceable battery 1/4 inch screw cold shoe USB-C 20W power supply 4K 30fps output Compatible with Mevo Multicum APP
  13. It looks like Sony has significantly cleaned up their video noise quality. I do wonder if this can be applied to other non-global shutter sensors as well. https://www.cined.com/sony-alpha-9-iii-lab-test-dynamic-range-and-latitude/
  14. https://news.panasonic.com/uploads/tmg_block_page_image/file/21105/en231220-3-1.pdf
  15. It is just being announced live by Sony. At only 24mp there will be no 8k. It will be interesting to see the video specs. https://m.dpreview.com/news/7271416294/sony-announces-a9-iii-world-s-first-full-frame-global-shutter-camera
