This is a bit surprising from Leica. I wonder if this would also work for the LX100. https://leica-camera.com/en-int/photography/cameras/d-lux/d-lux-8/downloads

Gerald did receive the GH7 from Panasonic.
-
The mount is definitely m43.
-
I suspect many have had the GH7 for a few weeks now. Ambassador Ben Staley will be showing a new Short film this coming Saturday that was partially filmed with an unreleased Lumix camera, showcasing its action capabilities. https://www.cinegearexpo.com/programs/la/cine-gear-news-la-expo-2024.pdf

2 years is very short for a GH series camera. Yes, I think they were invited to see the GH7 and at some point Panasonic decided to show the S9 as well. I think Gerald decided not to go based on the GH7 and was upset he missed the S9. It sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me. I am surprised it got the play time it did. But that is social media for you.

Panasonic Japan has now discontinued the GH6, so it looks like the GH7 is coming. This is likely what the GH6 should have been. https://panasonic.jp/dc/p-db/DC-GH6_manualdl.html

Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)
hoodlum replied to newfoundmass's topic in Cameras
The rumor site confirmed today that there is no mechanical shutter and the pancake prime is a very slow lens cap lens. -
I thought I would resurrect this thread as it looks like Logitech will be announcing a new MEVO product on the 17th with the m43 sensor/mount. The video specs are not great but it will be interesting to see how far they take this. The 6400mAh battery should provide a very long run time. https://asobinet.com/logitech-announces-micro-four-thirds-camera-for-live-streaming-on-march-19/ Interchangeable lens camera Mevo Core micro four thirds system Dual USB-C ports 3.5mm audio interface HDMI output microSD card slot 6400mAh replaceable battery 1/4 inch screw cold shoe USB-C 20W power supply 4K 30fps output Compatible with Mevo Multicum APP

It looks like Sony has significantly cleaned up their video noise quality. I do wonder if this can be applied to other non-global shutter sensors as well. https://www.cined.com/sony-alpha-9-iii-lab-test-dynamic-range-and-latitude/

It is just being announced live by Sony. At only 24mp there will be no 8k. It will be interesting to see the video specs. https://m.dpreview.com/news/7271416294/sony-announces-a9-iii-world-s-first-full-frame-global-shutter-camera

Also, full size HDMI and USB-C 3.2 gen2. Basically, a faster m43 sensor with the body/ processor of the S5ii. You could easily switch back and forth between the G9ii and S5ii and not need to relearn anything. Based on latest rumor, Panasonic will also announce a GH6X/GH7 with PDAF at the same time.

Now it is a surprise - DPReview is closing

The X body looks the same except without the red dials. The poster also mentions that both bodies will have a Phase Hybrid AF. -

It looks like there will be an S5ii and S5iiX along with a 14-28 Macro lens. No details on what the X body brings. Announcement should be in next 2 weeks based on prevalence of leaks https://digicame-info.com/2022/12/lumix-dc-s5m2-dc-s5m2xlumix-s-.html -

This person has a bit of history with leaks and mentioned that the S5ii will be released early next year and will not have DFD https://disqus.com/by/leakymcleakface/? He also hinted at this 3 weeks ago in the PTZ PDAF rumor comments. -
The GH6 is now $1497 at Adorama after the additional $200 instant rebate. That is $700 off the initial list price. https://www.adorama.com/ipcdcgh6.html

While Nikon is licensing their mount, it looks like they are charging a large fee based on the difference in pricing for Tamron lenses between Nikon and Sony. This will not bode well for both Nikon and Canon. https://www.zsystemuser.com/nikon-z-system-news-and/the-z-mount-tax.html

The details provided by the admin at 43rumors was that the new body would have the same sensor and same battery as the OM-1. He assumed it would be a lower price OM-1 so similar to E-M5. The same battery and same sensor would also apply to an E-M1X replacement. There was also mention of 15fps. This spec was a bit confusing as the E-M5iii already supports this, but if it refers to full C-AF for the mechanical shutter then that is beyond even the OM-1. We will get clarity as more details leak. OM is likely trying to clear out the remaining E-M1X bodies in advance of this release.
-
The person who posted this was a beta tester for the OM-1 and would have access to a reliable source at OM.
-
Yes, it would be similar to the top end bodies from Canon and Nikon that have a built-in grip. I presume it will be called OM something since they started with the OM series now.
