  1. The Manual for those interested. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_manuals.asp?id=1706
  2. Also, saw this from the Olympus AU link. It is interesting that the max for RAW and JPEG is the same. [Silent sequential shooting L 60fps] RAW: Max. 48 frames, JPEG (LN): Max. 48 frames
  3. i believe this was just release today. I am not sure how this would compare to the GH4. http://www.olympus.com.au/Products/Interchangeable-Lens-Cameras/Olympus-OM-D/E-M1-Mark-II/Specifications Battery life for movie recording Approx. 90 minutes (under standard JEITA testing) Approx. 150 minutes (when zoom and other operational functions are not used) *When repeatedly recording at the maximum time of 29 minutes
  4. Unfortunately the video quality has not improved from the M5 mkii.
  5. There is a 4k video from the mkii at the 3:29 mark of this video. The stabilization looks amazing but the continuous AF cannot keep up.
  6. 1.5cm at the short end only. http://www.olympus-global.com/en/news/2016b/nr160920m12100proe.jsp The closest focusing distance at 12mm wide-angle is 15cm, making it possible to take close-up shots up to 1.5cm away from the end of the lens, and macro shooting capabilities with the maximum shooting magnification of 0.3x (35mm equivalent: 0.6x) open up new possibilities of expression. The lens design features superb close-up shooting performance even at other focal lengths, with a closest focusing distance of 45cm, a working distance of 27cm, and a maximum shooting magnification of 0.21x (35mm equivalent: 0.42x) at a 100mm telephoto setting (35mm equivalent: 200mm).
  7. around 1:18 in this video show the transition of AF.
  8. Here are some details on the sensor found in the Pixel. The sensor is capable of much more than what Google implemented in the Pixel. http://www.xda-developers.com/sony-imx378-comprehensive-breakdown-of-the-google-pixels-sensor-and-its-features/
  9. My guess is that US pricing will be announced leading up to PhotoPlus Expo next week.
  10. This link has a few additional details regarding it's video capabilities and it looks like 60p does not support 202mbps. "Frame rate for ALL-Intra (202 Mbps) is 30P, 25P, and 24P only."
  11. It is interesting that the LSI incorporated the IBIS algorithms. I wonder if there was any sharing of the video codec.
  12. A couple more tidbit. http://www.mirrorlessons.com/2016/09/22/olympus-om-d-e-m1-mark-ii-extra-information There is no sensor crop for both UHD and Cinema 4K unless you activate digital stabilisation in addition to 5-axis IS (8% crop). Continuous AF will be available with the same features as for stills. You can vary the exposure while recording.

    GH5 Prototype

I suspect there will be some limitation due to heat.
  14. Apparently the GH5 will have IBIS. And the Panasonic GH5 tester is also claiming 1 stop improvement, matching what Olympus has said. http://www.43rumors.com/david-peterson-says-the-new-gh5-will-have-full-size-hdmi-and-ibis/#disqus_thread

    GH5 Prototype

And 1 stop improvement which matches Olympus's claim.
  16. The stabilization shown in that Cinema5D video at the 2 minute mark looks fantastic.
  17. Little things like dual card slots, vari-angle LCD, and larger battery will definitely help. The big ones are the 3x faster sensor readout over the existing E-M1 and both IBIS and Electronic Stabilization with 4K video.
  18. This reminds me of an interview from a few days ago. Jeremy didn't hold back on what he thought of Canon's decisions.
  19. I have not seen any confirmation of support for 4k60p yet.
  20. Most current smartphone sensors are currently capable of supporting 4k60p. The limiting factors has been the processing capabilities to create 4k60p content without overheating. Android phones will only be able to support it once the latest Snapdragon processor can do it without overheating.
  21. Support for 4k60p suggests that it could also support higher quality 1080p120. There many not be enough room for a 2nd sensor on the smaller phone.
  22. I wonder how long the telephoto will be? It needs to be at least 75mm equivalent to be of much use since the sensor for the tele lens is slightly smaller than wide angle sensor. Also the tele end has no OIS so it would be limited to good light use.
  23. Olympus is also coming out this fall with a 12-100mm at a constant F4. Maybe this lens will be directed towards the video community.
  24. Digicame only releases details a few days before announcement and has a very good track record of reliability. They just posted some additional details. I wonder what time limits these have. Video 4K 60fps. Full HD120fps, 4K video can be recorded in internal CFast2.0 media
  25. This week Olympus announced a new 300mm f4 PRO lens for their m43 mount. This is the first Olympus lens with IS built into the lens and when combined with IBIS is rated for 6 stops of stabilization. Mirrorlessons just posted a video take with this lens and the 1.4TC handheld for a total 840mm (35mm equivalent). This could be game changing for wildlife videos where you cannot or don't want to carry a tripod.
