1. Do we have 1080p videos from the D800 yet?
 2.
Resolution looks even a little better on 5d II...
I think that's the sharpening of the camera
 3.
The $4,000 - $10,000 range will be where the mid-range pro cameras will be. The C-DSLR will most likely fall between there. We want so much for such a low price. I don't think, at least not now, we will get a camera with all the features we want for under $4,000. Just doesn't make sense to me. We deal with the short comings of DSLRs because they produce great images and are cheap. However, if you want the amazing video features, expect to pay more. The 5D2 was over $2,000. I expect the C-DSLR to at least double that. The C300 and F3 is on the same level. Hopefully Canon creates the C-DSLR to be on the same level as the FS100. $5,000 is reasonable if they add the features we see in cameras like the FS100 and keep a body like a DSLR. I think Canon is going to try and put the C-DSLR in the FS100 price point. That's my guess based on wishful thinking  ::)
Then they can keep it :) What will sell more a $700-800 DSRL with a GH2 video (apparently easy to do and not pricey, the hacked GH1 is still better than the Canons!!) with same things the 600D has or an expensive $10k video camera???
 4. Be sure that the C-DSRL will cost more than the 5dmk3. We're always screwed. Imagine if Panasonic could make a GH3 with a APS-C sensor. It will destroy everyone!
 5. pre production camera right... like the real deal is any better.
 6.
It is good enough for many many great shoots to come, but it is definitely a lot softer on fine details than the GH2 is capable of. It isn't any better than 5D Mark II in terms of actual resolution. And this is a £3000 camera body. It took 3.5 years to do this??
I'm disgusted BUT they're doing this on purpose they're not stupid!
 7. They fixed nothing! They're protecting the C300.
 8. is it true they can't publish 1080p on the web?:|
 9.
You can't judge res from a clip shot at ISO 12,800! We just don't know much about what went into this clip in terms of post processing, camera settings and compression. Vimeo clip download file size is tiny, much smaller than a raw ALL-I 90Mbit file. Various review sites have a 5D Mark III already. Once one gets one with a clue about video, then maybe we can rest easy knowing our pre-orders won't need to be cancelled! It is looking good so far though....
I know that, it's just a feeling
 10. how is it possible that we're all waiting (i hope) original 1080p footage and the only things available are one high compressed 720p short, this high iso file and 960x540 videos from canon!! Are they doing this on purpose?? Still not convinced they fixed the res problem!
 11. I need real samples not this compressed sh*t because at first look I don't see anything extraordinary. At the end of Mario Nette I see moiré on the rocky ground
 12.

It's time! Will Canon be unique and give a gh2-like video or follow Sony and Nikon with crappy video?
Video from the NEX 5n is far from crap. In fair honesty, the footage from that camera surpasses footage from Canon SLRs
It does for sure but it doesn't come close to the GH2, that's the problem. If Canon will give a NEX 5N like video (90%) I'm going to be disappointed (not that I didn't expect it). If only the GH2 had a larger sensor and be on par on the pictures side with Canon why would someone buy anything other than the GH2? :D
 13.

It's time! Will Canon be unique and give a gh2-like video or follow Sony and Nikon with crappy video?
Unfortunately I think Canon will follow suit with this trend of not stepping up the video quality. Remember they now have the C300 and later this year they will release a 4k cinema dslr. I don't think the 5Dmk3 will be a big step in improvement video-wise. Maybe a little bit less moire/aliasing and jello, but that's it. I really hope to be wrong, but I got a feeling we will all be disappointed...  :'( Maybe Panasonic should release a super 35 chip camera too...  ::)
You read my mind
 14. It's time! Will Canon be unique and give a gh2-like video or follow Sony and Nikon with crappy video?
 15. guys the D4 is on par with the 5d. it screams "soft video" at first look and apparently from other videos it has the worst aliasing I've seen
 16.

I think it is a mixture of patent agreement and Japanese protectionism. Downscaling is effectively crippling therefore the quality is going to be poor. Appears Nikon D4 was allowed clean HDMI because the video is going to be crippled or downscaled and will not compete against the true high end video cameras.
Why would Nikon cripple it? They don't HAVE any high end video cameras!!
What I've said. Combination of patent agreement and Japanese protectionism. Sort of like we help you make your sensor for your camera, doesnt have to be this camera but for that camera so long as you cripple the video on your flagship camera we don't mind you having clean HDMI out. Japanese don't like losing face and Canon is not about to either.
what about the GH2 then?
 17. The only consolation is that the c300 is not that cheap like the fs100 so it would not be"fair" to Canon users to have to spend so much to get a real 1080p in 2012
 18. I'm afraid that's the most logical move for a company in this situation :(
 19.
Could well be Canon protecting the sales of the APS-C dSLRs by down grading video quality in the G1X. If you want great video you really need the flexibility to use different lenses. The G1X cant do that so no need to have good video.
Or they will protect the C300 sales by giving crap video to anything below that price range (DSRLs included) like Sony did. If the c300 didn't exist I would have no doubt they will provide gh2-like new cameras. I wonder if the GH2 lowered the sales of the af100
 20. I wanted to add that throughout the years since the canon 550d this is the worst aliased video I've ever seen. Canon went BACKWARDS with this camera. very disappointed
 21. I was expecting this and honestly I don't see why this shouldn't indicate how the new DSLRs will be, this is not a stupid  "compact" camera with a small sensor, it's not even cheap! I don't see why they would put a worse video processing on this camera, I HOPE I'M WRONG Once we get a real video sample from the new DSLRs if I don't see anything AT LEAST ON PAR with the GH2 I'm done with Canon
 22. That's another proof that they just don't want to offer those specs!
