Why on earth are they being so obtuse about this? First NEX over m4/3, now Leica over EF in m4/3. It's like they don't want to make money. Meanwhile the whole video landscape is changing so quickly that what looked like an amazing and somewhat indispensable new piece of kit is going to be an also-ran while everyone shifts over to FF and APS-C again (assuming the RAW hack gets fleshed out on non-mk3 bodies). I mean I understand we have a skewed vision of what the market wants, but seriously? They thought Leica was a better fit for this over EF, even dumb-EF? Must be a stills thing.

Can't control it in burst mode, at least on the V1. Not sure about the V2.

Tony Wilson has probably forgotten more about cameras and lenses than any of us will ever know. Do yourself a favor and take a minute to really grapple with what he's saying. Of course he has a sense of humor too.

Anyone know if full, constant 1920x1080 @ 24fps is working without dropped/corrupted frames on the mk2 yet? So happy I kept mine for stills even when I switched mostly to GH2 for video.

On my GH2 I get full coverage on the LA7200 all the way at 14mm using the 14-140. Focal length is far less of a concern than with many of the other adapters. But by the same token unless you're modding your LA7200, stopping down will be necessary, like f/4 at the minimum for many lenses to focus properly.

Thanks for the reply fetzu, it's nice to know someone else is out there running into the same issue! I ended up just using the 2.35:1 squeeze as a starting point and then pushing the V-size parameter as far as it would go without totally corrupting the image. There was some junk underneath the frame but the image itself was fine. It wasn't quite 3.56:1 but it was a lot better than trying to compose in 1.78 anyway. My second issue however was that the HDMI port on the GH2 seems awfully sensitive. It was a long cable so next we'll try using a short run that should be less prone to getting bumped, etc. But man, it's true what they say about HDMI not really being a robust monitoring connection. Maybe I should look into getting a right-angle adapter.

Quick question guys - I'm testing out my friend's new DP6 monitor and we're trying to set up a custom scale for my 2X Kowa 16H. I thought it would be as simple as taking the V Height parameter under Custom Scale and halving/doubling it, but I'm getting lots of corruption and a double image when I do that. I saw Andrew's post on the site about doing it with the LA7200 but I need 3.56:1, not 2.35:1. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

Hold up. HDR mode [i]does[/i] work on the 5D with the new firmware? I guess they were serious about the "unified" name - that is seriously excellent news! Now I might actually have a reason to shoot video on my 5D again :D I still need to read the rest of the post but thanks for getting this up in such detail so quickly.
