Sad news. Robin Williams dies. I'll be saying a prayer for the gentleman. Remember life is short and embrace it. http://arts.nationalpost.com/2014/08/11/robin-williams-dead-at-63-police-believe-comedic-actor-committed-suicide-at-his-california-home/

This is off topic but can potentially affect us as we all use the internet. Russian hackers have stolen over 1 billion usernames and passwords. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/russian-hackers-have-stolen-over-1-billion-usernames-93907045969.html

Jc, your parents look so young. just kidding. I could see why they achieved the million plus views. She's a babe and he's a hunk. Brad and Angelina better watch out as there is a new Mr. and Mrs. Smith around the corner. Cheers.

Aaron, I took the family to the movie yesterday. I thought it was a very good movie too. I'm not a big fan of 3d but it delivered. The pacing and story kept my interest. Being shot on film, the look had a more dirty, organic texture than most of the digitally shot movies (Or it could have been my 3d glasses being dirty from me handling them with my greasy, 'popcorned' hands). The acting, special effects, editing, etc. were all well done. A sensible 8.2/10 rating on imdb. Cheers.

Budget $178,000,000 (estimated) It'll be interesting how things go for this flic in the next few weeks. I'm going to take in the movie. I have to be careful when taking in the movie as film fans may mistake me for Tom Cruise. Now if I didn't have extra visceral fat, bald spot with graying hair, extra wrinkles and an ugly look, I'd be a dead ringer. Cheers. JCS, right on! Looks good. Nice and easy recipe which I should be able to create - or I'll get the wife to make. Cheers.

I'm in the market for a new phone. I'm going to go for the S5. It'll cost $240 with a package deal. I'll use the S5 for my helmet cam. I'll tape it to a helmet or just my son's forehead. I downloaded the Youtube footage. It looks really good. Cheers.

JCS, LED pars are good depending upon the brand. I tried Feit non par (regular bulb) and there was banding in the video. I'm not sure if the Feit par bulbs have banding. Tried Cree regular bulb, 5000K and there wasn't any banding. Tried Cree regular led soft white bulb and there was banding. The Utilitech 23 watt looks interesting. 1400 lumens would be very bright for a par38. I may have to try one of those. Thanks for posting. The other route is buying a high cri chip led bulb, heat sink, lens, etc. and try to build your own. Cheers Utilitech 23-Watt (90W Equivalent) Par38 Medium Base (E-26) Daylight Dimmable Outdoor LED Flood Light Bulb

Here's a quick shot of a neighbor with a cheap led. Something you wouldn't use on a professional shoot. I had on the right corner a cree home depot led bulb shining on the wall (ignore the banding as compressed the footage a few times).

Hi JCS, There should be lots of options in the next while. Better led lights coming out all the time. Prices should come down a fair bit. LED forum: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forum.php Alzo's new beast.

Hi JCS, Camera 1 looks to be the Alexa to my old eyes. Cheers.

Been playing with led lighting too. Tried even outdoor flood light. Good lights - except a green color cast, and they had banding. Solution, changed the driver. Thinking of changing the chip to a 90+ cri too. Some led light bulbs are good, others not so good as they band. Keep up with the good work. Cheers.

It'll be interesting to see if Canon puts out a couple new cameras in their lineup. I was watching a move, New World (Korean Movie on Netflix). I liked the story (even with reading the subtitles) and I was impressed with the actual look of the movie. So I checked on which camera and lenses were used. To my surprise, it was the Red One Camera, Zeiss Master Prime and Angenieux Optimo Lenses (MX sensor). The camera is a tool. Everyone has their bias. What works for an individual within their means is all that matters. Cheers.
