There are tons of people reporting noise at low iso's on this cam, which sucks.
-
I can tell you it was bad for all but making sure you had the camera pointed in the right direction. Like the old VHS camcorder EVF's.

I dialed it out with a personal log profile. I had a Ninja 2 with mine, but I just HAAAD to get on the raw wagon. I got a Bmcc with a rig and all the trimmings...which is a wake up call when you go from almost zero noise, to noise in everything. I loved 12 bit raw and the freedom it gave, but the noise was bad. Believe me in retrospect, I'd build a time machine just to kick my ass the day I sold it. It just got out of the way. Here's a video from both: C100: Blackmagic 2.5k

I had a C100 and that was C-Log. It was very "greenish" out of the box and I had to dial it back. I wasn't a fan really of how desaturated it handled green also. Limitation of 8-bit I assumed, because 5D3 raw has so much color it's almost dimensional. 14-bit though:)

So weird. Seems like you guys get the shaft across the pond quite often.. B&H has it still for $495 (u.s), granted it's roughly a month out at this point, but at least you'll be on the list. I had a bad experience with bmd and my 2.5k. I got 3 from support that each had excessive noise problems in separate color channels, it was weird.. But they verified it each time. I chocked it up to bad Q.A. In the sensor department especially when I'd read about everyone else's problems online. It seemed like they rushed them out in high demand and there was no consistency to quality among them, you either got a good one or you didn't. Too random for me.. Now it seems like they've tackled it though and are addressing these issues with weekly firmware updates. Point is, the odds of getting a good camera are better now than they were!!

I totally agree. I don't know if it's just how everyone is grading the footage, but all the A7S stuff looks cold, blue, and pale to me.
-
ugh. Everything has a blue tint to it from everything I've seen online from the A7S. I don't know what it is, but I see a serious lack of reds in everyone's grade. Greens look blue-ish, skin looks un-naturally pale and "milky", and the whole thing just looks...cold. Is this how it's supposed to look?

I hope you're not talking about me. I was being serious. I like the camera. -

Man. How long have we waited for that much DR with that clean of an image in the shadows. That's nice. I just won't shoot Cloverfield 2 with it. 👠-
Canon will replace most of the C line more than likely, only they won't be so irrelevant in context to what else is available so quickly. The prices will remain astronomical though and the low end will still have to rely on magic lantern. I wish they'd let ML jail break the 1DX if they discontinue the 1DC now. That would be a beast.

Hello! The ML Forum is a maze of posts. Forgive me if this has been ask before.. (although it's a shame I feel like I have to apologize for asking anymore for all the forum attitudes..) -I thought somebody here would be friendly enough to give me an update on where the progress of in-cam playback is on a 5D3 with raw. I seriously want to shoot our film this fall with it for the fact that it's image is spectacular even with the new options out there. The only problem is not knowing if we nailed the take I want until it's transcoded at the end of the day. That's rough. Thanks guys in advance! I really appreciate it

54 mentions of video vs 32 of photos in Nikon D810 press release

I mean... This doesn't really look that bad, lol. -
Lol.. (Clearing chest)... "F$&k Nikon. That is all." Comment on the forum.

Has anyone compared this to a 1DC yet? I'd be interested to see how the two hold up in post comparatively, DR shoot out, blah blah...

This shot looked zoomed in correct? Most CMOS sensors look like a Waffle House waitress's thigh when you whip them side to side like that zoomed in.

Panasonic GH4 vs Sony A7S compared - who wins the 4K battle on paper?

i believe one of those is the A9 rumored to be released late spring? Probably the flagship. -
Noise. They should be shipping these cams with a copy of neat video, not resolve.

Bless their hearts...
