Canon earned a lot more profits than sony in the past 5 years. BUT they did not invest most of they profit into solving their sensor problem ,updating their production line .Their tech remain stagnant since 2008. Unlike canon，sony despite its huge financial loss and spend billion of dollars into making the world best camera sensor and pushing the camera innovation And don't forget sony is not a company that making and selling cameras for primary profit，which unlike canon and nikon ！ So why canon is losing？ That is WHY！ Just check the reviews on DXOmark and DPreview，then u will realize 5DS isn't nicer than the D810 and A7R，and it is overpriced too

Yeah，and that is why canon lens are too old to catch up,take a look at E-mount and M43- mount lens ,they have silent motor and power zoom ,not breathing effect . While Canon have their STM for the video use,but STM lens are so limited and only work with dual-pixel AF，not to mention there are no STM fast prime ,and not L-len quality STM lens Canon EF-lens are mostly for stills work ,not video and cine Lens are also the newer the better,new lens have better design,better coating，better len material，and that is why new lens keep developing and people keep replacing their old ones ！

But we are living in a internet era，which online shops are easily get access to，and informations exchanges are easy and quicky I think your points mostly are superficial understandings Before Canon make C300 ，sony already played a lot games in filmmaking and broadcasting，not to mention now 4K broadcasting are mostly done by sony And don't forget sony has its own film company（the Sony Pictures Entertainment） Movies like the new Spider Man series 、New 007 Series ，as well as the in-coming Ex Machina and Pixels were all produced by sony. So what u think is not what most cinematographers will accept！

All present DSLRs are using line-skipping for video ，and this state which started from 2008 has barely changed at all（except the expensive 1DC） As well as the lens for video，there are only Canon STM LSR lens are specially designed for video ，and not including any standard fast prime lens! Problems about DSLRs is not just the cameras ,it is about the whole SLR system,which already seriously behind the mirrorless No wonder why DSLRs are losing the game

​But A7RII is still much cheaper than canon flagship camera ，I bet it also will be much cheaper than the in-coming 5D4 or 1DC M2

Take notice of the AF system on C300M2 ，its AF system is only working silently with STM lens，non-STM lens will make annoying noise ，even with USM lens（due to the interal len-motor） Unfortunately there are very few STM lens for users to choose now. Unlike the C300M2， FS7 with all Sony E-mount lens works silently and could use powerzoom on some zoom lens. Moerover ，I think most filmmakers may never using AF ，and AF mostly for documentary films and broadcasting.

​SONY do make PC-cameras and Smartphone- cameras and they do overheat sometimes，so u shows wrong results When google "5D overheat(252,000 hits)"\ "7D overheat(44,800 hits)" \ "600D 550D 650D overheat (285,000 hits)"or "canon rebel overheat(311,000 hits)", there are a big number of cases ,far more than all sony ILC cameras overheat cases,not to mention canon DSLRs are most used cameras in the world. More weired is canon cameras won't last enough time for u to stop recording，only few seconds after the data overloading sign(it will happen with a enough fast SDcard) or overheat warning shows，then it shut down automatically! I sold my 550D and 5D2 for this reason. My NEX5N do overheat once ,but it could last about 10-15min after its overheating warning shows,when it shut down automatically,your data remine just fine ,while the canon's data lost or damageed.,driving me crazy！

​Canon have big problem of dealing with overheat issues, the 70D cannot solve overheat problem,and even the new xc10 has to depend on a cooling fan ! The RX10II shoot 4K and 960P FHD without a cooling fan inside,that is a huge difference！ Overheat issue kills all dreams about cheap 4K canon-DSLR

My A7R could be used more than 1 hour continue shooting，my 5D3 don't Now problem can be solved by using a USB power supply With well prepare，power won't be a problem，it also take more than one battery to finish your job by using a DSLR，right？ More annoying problem should be overheat issues Good luck！

​If 4K、high DR、super clean high-ISO and high-framerate shooting never attract u over just colour，why bother to update it to just FHD 60P？ Keep your 5D3 and save your money A7S and A7RII for more than just colour，while canon for colour only？？ uh， the 5D2 will be able to hold up for the next 10 years，right？

​I think Sony colour is great too，u may say it is weired because u cannot do correct colour grading.There are a lot of videos shooted by A7 series can prove u wrong~ And 30min battery life? ARE U SERIOUS?Did u check ？ Official information from SONY，battery life of the A7RII（1080mAh）： approx. 55 min with LCD screen (CIPA standard) Official information from Canon，battery life of the 5D3（1800mAh）： approx. 1 hours and 30 min (CIPA standard) 5D3 got much more quantity of electricity but only last 35min longer ，not to menstion that 5D3（950G） weights more than six batteries（for A7RII）+ an A7RII，and the A7RII now support USB real-time power supply ！Poor Canon ！ If someone prefer to pay $ 1000 more just for conon colour，it‘s definitely a fanboy-act~

Compare it with the RX10II,the XC10 is just a piece of garbage NO constant aperture，NO power-zoom，NO 0.09s focusing speed，NO PP files，NO Anti-distortion shutter！NO 960-frames FHD！ And canon sell it double the price of a RX10II It's SO rediculous！！

If there is more to the C100 (Mk 1 and 2) than its specifications suggest,So great that specification won‘t be matter anymore. Then why canon bothered to updated it? And maybe Canon could say: we make a miracles of the industry that no need to update real new techs,just look inside our camera and you will be satisfied ! Seriously？ LOL I know C100 produce nice image，but C100M1 and C100M2 both use the same CMOS,which mean there is no image differences between the tow ï¼

Oh,dude,are you really sure many people will like the out-of-date techs on the C100M2? Firstly,the non-OLED type EVF on the C100M2 is only 1.23M dots,lower than the one on a $600 rx10 , which has a OLED type evf with 1.44 dots,not to mention the cheap sony A7 has a better one with 2.36M dots! Secondly,bitrate is still low,also lower than a FW updated RX10,while fs7 offer a max 222M bitrate mode and gh4 offer a 100M in HD mode ,What a shame for c100M2~ Thirdly, canon is not for everyone,but sony E-mount does ! If you have PL-mount lens ,nikon lens,fuji lens,or even some old film cameras lens,they all can be used,which you can make a unique-look image.while canon is only for canon~ Finally ,that AF system is simply a joke~AF with facial tracking?Many camera does! RX10 and A7S can do even more, like detecting the shape changes of their tracking object,and their AF cover 100% of the image,while C100M2 cover only the center area,20% of all ,maybe? So C100M2 just updated some old techs ,I REALLY do not know why anyone will be excited about it,or you guys never do cameras comparisons?

The auto focus sytem on the C100 is a game changer? You remind me that FS700 already have fast AF sytem by using laea-2 adapter before C100 come up with DPAF ,no one care about the AF on FS700,why should one care about the af on C100? BTW,the af sytem on C100 is limiting compositions of your videos,and not to mention that only the center of the image get focus? <_< That is horrible and stupid,even a smatphone does a better job !.

I doubt that

This video shows the A7s can recover a lot of overexposure details during grading ,which seems impossible on a camera using 8bit compressed codec,the result looks amazing!
