  1.   Guessing:   Contrast UP (or adjust Black and White levels) + Saturation UP   TADAMM..! :)
  2.   It's a secret lens :)... Not pixelated on another shot: http://www.eoshd.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/eoshd-studio.jpg   What might that be?..
  3.   Here: http://www.toshiba-memory.com/cms/en/products/sd-cards/exceria/exceria-pro.html And maybe here.. : http://www.toshiba-memory.com/cms/en/products/sd-cards/exceria/exceria-uhs-2.html     Yes.     No.
  4. Looks like blooming is SOLVED:   http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12250&sid=01cf1c37243432523d21a4c97680e1ae&start=150#p77566
  5. BM statement:   http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12250   " All sensors, be it CCD or CMOS, will have a ‘blooming’ effect when during severe overexposure, the pixel is over saturated and excessive charges overflow to neighbouring pixels. It just looks different depending on the sensor type. We are not seeing this on some of our test cameras so it might be something that is calibration related. Please contact your nearest support office and we’ll run another calibration on the camera. "
  6.   FD lenses are closer to camera sensor than Nikon lenses.   - so there is no FD (lens) -> Nikon (camera) adapter. - there is only Nikon (lens) -> FD (camera) adapter.   FD -> m43 SpeedBooster would be the ultimate one (to accept FD, FE, Nikon...), but not sure if it's gonna be build.
  7.   Voigtlander Noktons are not very small..   What about SB + new dslr lenses (the smaller one, for APS-C not FF)? Not sure, but looks like cheaper alternative: Sigma 30mm/1.4    -->   21mm/1.0 any 50mm/1.4        -->   36mm/1.0 Samyang 16mm/2  -->   11mm/1.4  (big, but fast wide)   It's cheaper than Noktons and with 2 adapters (SB and regular) you get 6 focal lengths with 3 primes.   For example: Nokton 17.5mm(1150$) + 25mm(1000$)  = 2150$ = 17.5mm/0.95 + 25mm/0.95   Example above set: SB(430$) + Sigma 30mm(500$) + Nikon 50mm(400$) + Samyang 16mm(480$) = 1810$ [+ regular adapter] = 11mm/1.4 + 16mm/2 + 21mm/1.0 + 30mm/1.4 + 36mm/1.0 + 50mm/1.4
  8. How about Nikon SB (+ not too big lens) size compared to nokton's (17, 25 ...) ?   For example: SB + Sigma 30mm/1.4 SB + 50mm/1.4 ...
  9. If You can travel with bag of batteries instead of food and clothes :D:   http://philipbloom.net/2013/08/19/coming-soon/   "...I also learned to turn off the camera when not rolling as I only recorded 50 minutes of footage and used of 5 batteries..."
  10. Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye... :angry:     and pay no attention to today's date: 25 Jul = almost two weeks from 13 Jul... :D
  11. I wonder what will they say about shipping during US events: http://invite.blackmagicdesign.com/event2013/
  12.   Sure it will: http://nofilmschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/metabones-Speed-Booster-FX-DX-e1358148929538.jpg
  13. BM Pocket records compressed (but lossless) CinemaDNG RAW.   compressed = read/write (CPU) computational intensive but smaller files (= requires lower transfer speed).
  14. :huh: C'mon! There will be no Nikon RAW video hack from Vitaliy.   He just saw interesting entry in firmware, that's all.   It's not as strong group as ML. He did a nice hack for GH2 few years ago, but that's all. The progress is very slow: thay are just adapting the hack for new Panasonic cameras firmwares (and adding virtually no new features).   If you are very optimistic (I am not ;)) and if Vitaliy will investigate it further, you can maybe expect some results in 2-5 years..
  15.   I agree in this regard. We don't know much about bmpcc yet and should judge it's quality after release and first tests - so yes, preordering is little risky.   But I think it has big potential and hope it's gonna succeed.
  16.   So you convinced yourself bmpcc is not for you ;).  You can now relax.
  17.   Note that you actually don't need full version of Resolve for Pocket Cam. Resolve Lite is sufficient (it's biggest limitation is FullHD max resolution, which is just fine for Pocket).   BMCC is 2.5k, so without full version of Resolve it wouldn't be fully functional out of the box.
  18.   We have seen only ProRes footage, which has more moire than RAW ( http://www.eoshd.com/content/9635/red-epic-versus-blackmagic-cinema-camera-part-2-resolution-and-conclusion )
  19. Important note about this footage: shot in ProRes.   Author's comment from blog: " Hi John, …. could you just let us know whether you shot in RAW for this one or ProRes?...   johnbrawley says: RAW is not yet functioning with the firmware. "
  20.   As far as I know, Julian has just posted first in the internet pictures taken with this lens :)..
  21. Is it good at the shortest end: 18mm/1.8 ? (distortion/CA/sharpness...)
  22. I think that: f2.8 -> f2 f2    -> f1.4 f1.8 -> f1.2-f1.3 f1.4 -> f1.0   Besides I don't think that speedbooster gives exacly 1-stop.. It's something around.   Metabones speedboosters plans: http://www.metabones.com/speed-booster-questions Mitakon lensturbo plans: http://www.43rumors.com/it-is-true-lens-turbo-coming-for-mft-the-second-half-of-the-year/
  23.   I'm an amateur, so can be wrong, but I was thinking, for extreme low light (instead of Nokton's 1k$/1lens) to use upcoming Speedbooster (400-500$) or LensTurbo (200$) + lenses like: Any modern 50mm/1.4 (400$) -> 36mm/1.0 Samyang 24mm/1.4 (600$)  -> 17mm/1.0 Sigma 20mm/1.8 (600$)       -> 14mm/1.2   Or cheaper: LensTurbo (200$) + Canon FD (50/1.4, 24/2.0 ...) (100-200$)   The only problem is very wide angle.. Not many options. Probably will use SLRMagic 12/1.6 or Olympus 12/2.0 .. but it's still ~35mm FF equivalent.. Have to test if it's enough for me. And I hope to see more m4/3 lenses in future.. like anamorphic SLRMagic?...
  24.   For me BMPCC rules :). I'm not professional and it covers everething I need: 1. really pocketable when needed [5D is huge]:  BMPCC + pancake (12mm Oly, 20mm Panas..) 2. excellent RAW workflow: compressed RAW + free DaVinci Resolve Lite (couse it's 2k video) 3. flexible: can use my cheap Canon FD, m42 and my wife's Nikon (or whatever she finally choose) lenses... + upcomming SpeedBooster/LensTurbo 4. cheaper (for me): can use any lens I already have + cheap SD cards = 2k$ (with 1-2 pancakes) and I'm all set.   And I don't need stills. I have a wife for taking pictures ;).
