12.8 stops for the GH4 is for stills in RAW at ISO 100 only.     It drops away quite quickly as you go up the ISO range (as most cameras do).
I think we worry about DR headline numbers too much.
As long as there is enough is all that really matters (unless you are shooting a Hollywood feature film maybe).

Nice all around camera. Can be cinematic with the right lens (e.g Voigtlander F.95), filter (ProMist or similar), 24p, and log to protect highlights (+grading. Lighting is important though cinéma vérité can work too).
This is a no excuse camera, now anyone can make a blockbuster . @Orangenz are you waiting for Peter Jackson to get his so you can combine cameras for District Kong Hobbit IX 3D? If you shoot it Birdman style in one take then throw on a LUT, you'd be done in about two hours!

@webrunner5 everything I listed above plus film grain (ideally organic noise), and film-look grading or using a film style LUT (PP CC has a few, there's also Film Convert and others), I'm certain it can have a film look, even in 4K. A super detailed noise free look is fine for corporate, commercials, YouTube vloggers, etc., and with a little work can look quite filmic too. Remember @Neumann Films example (I tweaked this frame- see full screen):

https://www.filmconvert.com/ has a GH4 + Vlog and Varicam LT profiles and I'm sure will have GH5 too (if the Varicam LT is log, that might work on the GH5).

True CLog uses a log gamma curve using low-level camera data so maximum dynamic range and highlights can be preserved. A picture profile doesn't have access to the low-level data, so true log is not possible, and thus there is no actual increase in dynamic range. Boosting the shadows with the gamma curve in a picture profile can do bad things to skintones, which shouldn't happen with true CLog. A log-like picture profile might be helpful in high dynamic range shots such as outdoors by boosting the shadows before compression and Highlight Tone Priority to help with the highlights. Would test skintones in this case before an important shoot.

If a Pro Mist or similar diffusion filter was used, you'd see blooming and glow on the highlights (which I didn't see). The hair in some shots is over sharp. If the hair is sharp and skin looks soft, either the face is not quite in focus, the camera is doing skin smoothing, or compression is removing skin detail (which can be very subtle compared to hair). I would suggest turning noise reduction off if possible (though might be a challenge for 4K material at these low bitrates). In order to get highlights looking filmic, it's best to shoot in log and make sure highlights don't clip (which they didn't do).

New video I have not seen, maybe on here, don't know. Looks like ISO 3200 Could be used in a pinch, but damn good color at lower ISO's.

I created a Clog emulation in May 2016, right after purchasing the 1DX II. Along with Highlight Tone Priority (HTP) it appeared to be useful at first. However it became clear in production that skintones became challenging so I stopped using it (still use HTP). Actual Clog which isn't just a picture profile could be useful (highlights and preserving skintones), especially for matching other Canon cameras quickly. I was able to quickly grade GH5 log footage so a convergence on log formats that can be graded similarly is very helpful in production.

White balance was too magenta. Corrected in Photoshop. Now the background is gray, however green-magenta bands are still mixed in and skintones are slightly greenish. Some shades go magenta and some go green. That's the big challenge cameras have with color science. To get everything right in this example it would take secondary color correction and/or masking- a lot of work. While Canon is certainly not perfect, in my experience I have far less work in post with Canon vs. Panasonic or Sony (both of which can look great, but takes more time in post). Part of the issue could be the lights- spikey spectrums are hard for many cameras to deal with (that's why natural light and tungsten can look nice, and all other non-continuous spectrum lights prove challenging).

There is a psychological war going on between the powers that be and this is the fallout. If each of us people can refrain from being unkind, no matter what anyone says to us, while still kindly stating our views, and having empathy for those who don't realize they are victims of programming, we can start making progress to having better relationships with each other. We are not separate beings on this planet, we are not separate from our environment, we are all one continuous living being. Separation is an illusion: this is nature and quantum physics. What good is the hand yelling at the foot?
Creating another process in your mind, another level of awareness, that watches all your thoughts and actions as a separate being, is how to get started. Another way is to imagine there is always a camera pointed at you, and watching the camera is your ideal self, your significant other, your best friend, God, a jury, whatever construct works for you. Then start meditating every day for at least 5 minutes.

Plastic explosives could be hidden inside a working LiPo battery (Lithium by itself can explode and burn just by contacting water). Checked bags get heavier screening for bomb chemistry via high-energy devices: http://www.sds.l-3com.com/products/explosivedetect.htm. Additionally, checked bags are stored inside more resilient containers in the cargo hold vs. the relatively thin airframe where passengers sit. A bomb might also be used to gain access to a locked cockpit.
These directives come from intelligence agencies and were also implemented on various levels from the prior administration, only now becoming politicized and amplified by people unable or unwilling to seek the truth, unaware that they are pawns in a much bigger plan. The programming is brilliant as the victims aren't even aware of what's been done to them, where their first unconscious reactions are typically expletives, irrational behavior, silliness, ad hominem, and complete inability for calm, rational, and polite discussion when their programming is challenged. How effective and deep does this unconscious programming go? Does Shaq really believe the Earth is flat, or is he just trying to get traffic for his podcast? http://gizmodo.com/some-photos-of-earth-for-shaq-who-thinks-the-earth-is-1793422926
I've been studying the comment sections on MSM sites (all sides), comments on this forum too, and most people don't realize how close we are to nuclear annihilation. Everyone is acting like children insulting the previous and current leadership and each other. No one is trying to get along or solve the bigger issues. This is what the people behind the curtain want- everyone fighting each other! If the rumors of alien overlords here to protect us are false*, we're in big trouble if we don't start working together to live in harmony with each other and the planet. It looks like a highly advanced civilization on Earth was destroyed about 12,000 years ago. Are we going to repeat it? Will the iRock and iStick become the cool new gadgets?
    * UFOs look more like advanced terrestrial vehicles from everything I've seen. 99.999% look like hoaxes (nice job decorating your "UFO" like a Christmas tree). Truly alien or interdimensional vehicles could be invisible to us.

Anyone with access to both the 1DX-II (or 5D4 etc.) and the 1DC could perform a test to see how much better CLog is vs. the log-like picture styles for both dynamic range and skintones (the harder part). @Luke Mason noted the 1DC with CLog has more DR but not much more info here:

In order to be angry at someone, you've first got to have something in your own mind that you are projecting on the other person to be angry about. Think about why that is and you can start not being angry at others (as often ). If someone tells you you are wrong when you are right, who are you really getting angry at? If you are completely confident and at peace with yourself, you won't get angry, maybe even chuckle in those cases. Sometimes they'll be right- accept that too, then you'll be right again!

At the least, you can just walk away from here and never return.  If you don't like it, jump.
Still, it's just one dude's thoughts for goodness sake.  Even if you ignore the rants, there's other good info here.  Besides, what's exactly wrong with hearing other's political opinions?  I'm pretty sure it doesn't make one's brain explode.

A 50mm f2 lens on a .72x focal reducer becomes aprox a 36mm 1.4 lens.    Doesn't matter what sensor size the format is.       If you put the 50mm lens on a non focal reducer adapter on M4/3 you get a 50mm f2 lens with the FF angle of view of 100mm with f4 DOF (while still being a 50mm f2).        With the focal reducer it has a 72mm FF angle of view with 2.8 FF DOF (while still being a 36mm 1.4 lens).
It makes NO difference to the sensor at all.
A native 35 1.4 lens is not really any different to a 50mm lens on a focal reducer.     I believe some fast wide angle zoom lenses are constructed using a focal reducer internally.
The thing is that mostly focal reducers seem to be used with fast lenses for more exotic results or to  make slow kit type lenses more useful especially on M4/3.
