*Not my video Totally surprised at how well the GH5 compared, and in some cases beat the RED.

I need your help. I shot a promo for an unnamed industrial company and used a warehouse with a projector shooting footage on a brick wall. We used one of those construction lights off to the side as a prop and also to backlight the talent. The ad agency approved everything but once we showed the client they freaked out about the work light saying it looks like a mistake. (They can't comprehend that it isn't a video light "accidentally" in the shot.) Anyway I know there are good examples out there of this technique but I can't think of any off hand. Do any of you have some links or references that I could share with them?

Will there be an iPhone 9? Or straight to 11? Im confused.

It's not my year to upgrade but I'm curious to see the OLED version. Hoping they add Apple Pencil compatibility as well.

Looks outstanding. I really wanted the Q but couldn't justify the price, as I don't take stills professionally. I ended up getting the Fuji X100f which is a nice runner up.

Panasonic GH5 Review and exclusive first look at Version 2.0 firmware

I’m a complete dummy when it comes to HDR viewing and profiles. What does it mean exactly? Its not actually recording more DR than normal is it? How is a TV or monitor unlocking more DR in HDR? -

Yeah. The DDFX filters that I have are 83mm screw on. I have a matte box for NDs.

To reduce sharpness without reducing resolution I'd highly recommend the Tiffen Digital Diffusion FX 2 filter. It doesn't cause highlights to bloom like the Pro Mist but softens the overall look. I keep them on my 2 Sigma Cine Lenses always.

If you zoom in 500% you’ll see its not a real horse, but tiny dots. -

I've been out of the country and just now saw this. Hell yeah! Can't wait. -
The only one I’d recommend outside of lenses is the SmallHD 501/502. If you mount it on the hotshoe with the SmallHD pan/tilt mount it ups your game. Its so light you won’t even feel it. http://store.smallhd.com/store/500-700-pan-tilt-mount connect with an Atomos coiled HDMI. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1065085-REG/atomos_atomcab010_1_x_coiled_full.html

LukiLink project turns smartphones into an HDMI monitor
AaronChicago replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Good for Frank. I can't believe it took this long for someone to create this solution. It probably wouldn't be great for a focus/framing live monitor, but you could daisy chain this out of another monitor and use an iPad as a reference/directors monitor. -
Well it rained all afternoon so i couldn’t see the sun at all.
-
I figured there would be thousands of videos/photos that look the same, so anamorphic might offer a different look with the sun flares.
-
I'm planning on bringing out my 2x anamorphic with the GH5. I just dont want to fry my sensor. Any idea on how long it's safe to aim at the sun?

I've been thinking about selling my XT1 for this, for stills only. Nice to know it'll have a good video option too.

Is there any disadvantages of filming portrait style (vertical)
AaronChicago replied to lenny87's topic in Cameras
If it's done tastefully I think it can play. I like this approach: -
Yeah you can swap them. I moved the shutter dial as well.
-
Yeah that's when IR pollution can really show and get ugly.
-
Yes it's essential on the BM cameras when you're using any ND over 0.9. I'd even recommend using IR cut on 0.9 if you can. I have a set of Formatt Firecrest IRNDs that are lovely and haven worked very well with BM cameras.

The most unwanted picture style / grading look / LUT...
AaronChicago replied to Emanuel's topic in Cameras
Hahaha. I really hate it when I watch a 6 minute short film and the credits are 3 minutes.
