That one is pretty small. You could keep a DSLR and a few lenses. I have the 1600 for lenses, and the 1650 for storing my Ursa Mini + shoulder rig and follow focus.

I love the old school TV frame formatting!

Narrative commercials are pretty much guaranteed to need storyboards. You have to plan out each second and make sure the angles/scenes are shot in the allotted time. I think they're really helpful in all of types of film other than documentary. If the director wants to take the time to do it then it's really beneficial.

You can buy foam separate. I've bought a few used Pelicans on Amazon or ebay and ordered new foam. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/watertight-case-foam-inserts/ci/31198/N/3659994678

Look for used Pelican cases. They get beat up anyway and are pretty rugged.

I'm so stoked to use the Alexa Mini this fall for a project. Plan on doing some A/B testing with the UM4.6K as well.

He's been around forever. Used to be a speech writer for Reagan. Was married to Ann Coulter who is another top notch troll. Just go back and look at his old writings/twitter/books. He claimed Obama was a secret Muslim who was planning on destroying America. I've read some of his books on religion which are actually pretty interesting. He's a very smart guy but he's gone totally bat shit crazy in the past few years on conspiracy theories. He was arrested for campaign fraud and is crying out that Obama is after him, and sent his minions to arrest him. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a super political person and I respect all points of view but the people like him and Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Moore, (sometimes) Bill Maher are just bad for the country. They cause so much unnecessary divisiveness. It's actually quite sad b/c he used to be one of the best debaters around. He would debate Christopher Hitchens frequently on religion and hold his on. Hitchens respected him and they were friends. He wanted to debate Richard Dawkins but Dawkins was hesitant. They finally debated on Hawkins terms (which was prerecorded responses). Great debate. Just in the past 6 years or so he's gone kind of crazy and paranoid. Such a bummer. I saw the Obama movie just out of curiosity and it was so awful. I don't think I could sit through this. Check out Rotten Tomatoes though and you'll get an idea of the reviews: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/hillarys_america_the_secret_history_of_the_democratic_party

That guy is a hack. He's one of the biggest trolls in politics.

My wife was almost scammed seling a camera for $1500 on ebay
AaronChicago replied to Ed_David's topic in Cameras
That happened to me once with a camera. Their fake Paypal emails looks legit, but you have to always check your acct. When I went to look up their address is when I knew something was wrong. -
From what I understand it all depends on which OLPF you're using regarding skin tones. Does the Raven have multiple OLPF options?

I think if you buy it again at the 5K price from Adorama then it's totally fine. I kinda see both sides of this. If everyone just bought a camera and returned it after a shoot, there'd be businesses closing, companies not innovating due to lack of resources, and no rental houses.

I'll start looking for XT1 prices to drop. I really want it for a stills only camera.
-
Was it from ebay?
-
Cine zoom would be killer.

I'm pretty sure he's not talking about high budget Hollywood films. The DP's on those projects aren't getting the job based off of their camera package.

4K at 60p at 10 bit is going to be the challenge for small cameras. The BM Micro Studio shoots ProRes at 4K so we know that's at least possible. If BM could take the components of the Micro Cine, Micro Studio, and BMCC to make a DSLR sized camera it would be a huge hit. Size it in between the pocket and the BMCC to be more hand-held friendly.
-
Meh. I hardly ever use 4K on the Ursa Mini. The ProRes 422 HD files are beyond good enough for the kind of stuff I shoot. The battery life does suck on the Pocket, but it's pretty small. They've already improved it with the Micro Cinema camera. They really need to make a chunkier pocket camera with a swivel screen and Canon batteries.
-
And we know it's possible if BM is doing it in a pocket camera.

Yeah it depends on the type of lighting. Most of the time it's Tungsten. There are some times on stages where they'll have blue/red and daylight balanced LEDs. In that case I'd say just look and see which looks the closest to real life.
-
Yeah here's what I did once when recording a comedy show (similar to tupp). Tap into the board and feed an XLR into your recorder. Set up one of the Rode mics in the back of the room pointing toward the stage. Set up the other Rode mic near the stage pointing back to the crowd (for laughter). Comedians really want to have that live room feel and not super dry feed off of their stage mic.

I don't think its the full frame aesthetic. It's more to do with how smooth the image resolves. They also look very thick and robust. The main problem I was having with the C100 was the image looking thin (although the color was great).
-
The image is different in my opinion though. Something about the 1DC looks different than C300mkii, IDXii... I guess with the 1DXii it could be the lack of C-Log, but even the Cx00 lineup has a different looking image, with C-Log.

The 1DC is going to be one of those lightning in a bottle cameras that will still be popular sought after in a few years. Will be interesting to see how used prices drop.
