  1. Windows 10 Pro. i7-4770K 3.5GHz, 32GB RAM, GTX 970 4GB
  2. I'm not getting these bugs that you guys are experiencing. It's running so much faster in my opinion. I've gone through two 3 hour screen share sessions with Adobe in the last 2 years and they've really helped me clear out issues that cause crashes. Most of the time it has to do with plug-ins EVEN if they aren't being used on a project.
  3. Andrew, have you talked to Panasonic about the release? I know they took your advice last time around.
  4. Yeah the measurements were done with the fresnel. Beam angle claims 10-40 degrees but I'm not sure if it goes all the way to 40. I had both fresnels about 1/2 way down (guessing around 25). Unfortunately no.
  5. The concept is supposed to be DIY so AF doesn't have to be as smooth as Canons DPAF but ideally i'd like it to at least work. Any other recommendations for a small IBIS camera with good AF?
  6. I'm helping a young band shoot their first music video and they want it to be all handheld (by them) as they interact with people. No musical performance. Anyway I'm planning on renting an a7s ii for the IBIS and autofocus. Does the Sony 20mm f2.8 work well with the a7sii in terms of AF? If not what would be a better option in the 16-30mm range. It needs to be relatively small.
  7. Okay, here is an update after I got a fresnel lens attachment for the Aputure 120t. The Aputure light is brighter than the Arri 650, by eye. I used my CineMeter II app to take some Lux measurements. (Keep in mind that the app isn't 100% accurate but it is extremely accurate relatively. In other words comparing 2 readings will give a correct interval.) At 2 ft. away it was reading Aputure 120t: 15,000 Lux Arri 650: 11,000 Lux At 5 ft. away things started to even out. Aputure 120t: 4,000 Lux Arri 650: 3,800 Lux Color temps: Aputure 120t: 3050 Arri 650: 3150 I'm still not convinced that this is hitting a 1K equivalent. I'd say more like 800 watt.
  8. Cartel Land is CRAZY. Not only great looking footage but intense and nerve wrecking.
  9. That's a nice new feature. Proxy workflow is great as well. I can't believe that they're still not supporting Blackmagic 4:1 RAW.
  10. I think the issue is not seeing a dynamic highlight for reference. This shot would be a perfectly acceptable exposure for a David Fincher film if a practical was in the shot.
  11. If it's the same panel as the Ursa screen then I attest that it's great. I compared it side by side with the SmallHD 502 and they were nearly identical in look. EDIT: VA 5" is the same panel.
  12. Who said anything about being the same? He just asked for advice on green screen keying. It's very effective on the GH4. You've either: A. Never used a GH4 with green screen which makes you're advice useless. B. Used a GH4 on green screen and had bad results, which is I hate to say it, operator error. No reason to take that frustration out on others trying to help.
  13. Daylight is also a great feature. Looking forward to seeing some examples.
  14. So if the Pixapro is any indication, a fresnel lens is putting out 4x the lux. If that's the case then I'm sure the 120t will be at least 1K equivalent. Ted assures me of this as well. I ordered a fresnel so we'll see soon. CRI seems higher on the Aputure so there's that.
  15. For green screen I'd use Natural or Portrait with saturation and sharpness down to -5. I'd leave everything else at 0. Depending on how much movement is happening I would shoot 30p and use a faster shutter angle (to reduce motion blur). I always use MOV The GH4 does split up clips but I've never had a dropped frame in between. Hope that helps!
  16. What's the wattage equivalent on that one?
  17. They're planning on releasing a fresnel adapter later this year. I might look into a third party one on ebay. One of the main reasons that I got this light was to use with a 36" parabolic softbox which I"m planning on testing this week.
  18. It's not covering 5 to 9 times more. Arri 650 flood beam is 55 degrees. The 120t is 120 degrees without any modifiers. This test I have a reflector cone wihich is shaping it to about 55 degrees. The only reason I used the barn doors was to show the line between the 2 clearly.
  19. Which lenses do you have? This is true. The C100ii is the most hands-off camera I've ever used. If you're in situations where you don't have time to make adjustments then it's a life saver. Yes I forgot to put low light as an advantage for C100. It's incredible. The 4K ursa is mainly usable at 400 ISO but the 4.6K is perfect at 800 ISO and usable at 1600 ISO. That is still a far cry from 10,000 ISO but if you're using fast lenses it's not a big problem.
  20. I put CTB on the the photos up top, but I didn't have anything on the side by side with the Arri 650.
  21. The barndoors are why the surface area is smaller on the Arri. I talked to Ted via email. He said that the fresnel lens definitely helps brighten the center beam and that he's going to post a video soon comparing the Arri 1K and 120t.
  22. I've owned both and they're very different cameras. The DPAF and weight are huge selling points for the C100ii. Nice colors as well. I just got tired of the weak codec and moved on. Blackmagic have great customer support. They're always willing to interact within 24 hours of contacting them. There have been a lot of issues with the 4.6K regarding the magenta corners but they're WAY overblown on forums. Your chances of getting a good unit are favorable at this point. If it's not a good one they'll replace it. They've stated that they know what is causing the issue and it will fix it ASAP. The new firmware 4.0 coming out with the 4.6K is going to be amazing. They're adding all new resolutions for ProRes. 2K, 2.5K, 3K, 4.6K. Right now you can only shoot 4.6K in RAW. ProRes is only available currently (in the Ursa) at 1080 and UHD.
  23. I hope you're right. Honestly I don't even expect it to reach 1.5K. I was just hoping for more than 650w.
