  1. There's more glass in there than my car windshield.
  2. Supposedly the iPhone 7 is going to have dual lenses. One wide angle, and one telephoto.
  3. If you're shooting indoors then yeah it should be good. It probably isn't strong enough for outdoors. The 4 banks are good b/c you can dim when needed, or open it full blast.
  4. The SmallHD 501/502 on top of the BMPCC is a dream. Super light, super sharp, and supports LUTs for BM film.
  5. The upgrade from the pocket to BMMCC is still pretty nice. Full sized HDMI, better battery, 60p. If you liked the BMPCC screen then I can see where it wouldn't make sense to upgrade.
  6. He kind of makes it unclear whether or not global shutter will be added in the future for the 4.6K, and Micro.
  7. If I had to buy 2 lights to start a kit it would be a KinoFlo/FloLight/Lightstorm bank with barn doors, and a fresnel spot light that's at least 650w. Mix those with your diffusion and you can achieve a HUGE array of looks.
  8. Yeah this was from 2014 so I'm 99% sure it's Cine D. I just opened the old project in Premiere and exported the frame from a timeline to JPEG and TIFF.
  9. Here is a JPEG, as well as a TIFF for download on dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/guci7tvzdo560ck/SkyTiff.tif?dl=0 It was the most extreme example I could find of a gradient sky.
  10. Andy do you have some examples of the G7?
  11. Something is definitely wrong here b/c I use the GH4 all the time outside and never see banding in the sky (other than V Log).
  12. This. Or as Jimmy said. Let them make their video but ask them to not put your name on it.
  13. I personally don't care about driving revenue from YouTube. I just wanna have a good quality end product. So Cantsins suggestion about posting high quality videos into Wordpress is appealing to me. But there is a whole world of people out there who really want to create as much money as possible from their content and YouTube is the king right now.
  14. Unless you can have advertisers pay for spots in your content, or either charge people to watch something, it's not as profitable. Alot of content makers are pulling in 6 digits per year. The top is making 7 to 8 figures a year.
  15. Does it do that on all profiles? I've only noticed it on V Log 8 bit.
  16. I used a shoulder mount with front rods/grips, and a top handle. It's not too bad at all. The 7Q is pretty heavy so it's hard to use the combo handheld with the stock grip. Curious to see what happens with the FS5 as well!
  17. That looks great. Is it a Revenant/Game Of Thrones mashup film?
  18. I love it so far. No complaints at all. I've only shot 2 spots with it so far though. I mostly shoot 4k Raw converted to 2K ProRes in the 7Q. It keeps the files a decent size but lots of detail and color info in tact.
  19. If you can stomach one monitor attached then I'd say you should consider the FS700 + Odyssey 7Q. 4K 120fps in Raw and ProRes, no problem. Not to mention if you're using Canon lenses with the Speedbooster you'll get Full Frame. All at 1/3 the cost of a C300 II. I totally understand the caveat of having a small setup, but it comes with a price. Literally and spec-wise.
  20. If you can avoid beige/cream midtone walls and gradient skies then internal is still a good option.
  21. Gimbals tech/affordability have skyrocketed in the last 2 years. Holy cow.
  22. External recorder helps alot. Also avoid using the Panasonic Varicam LUT. It magnifies the magenta/cyan problem. Keys to getting good footage from V Log -Use a 10 bit recorder/monitor that can display LUTs for setting exposure. -Nail exposure right at +/- 0, or +1.
  23. I was using the SmallHD 502 which has desqueeze. It all depending on the distance and the focal length to where I set the lens focus. Basically just trial and error till it looked right. Some of the users up in the anamorphic sub thread could probably give you some better advice on which adapters/lenses to use.
  24. I used it for one project with the C100 and found it really hard to use. I'm not experienced with anamorphic work so that could be the reason. Focusing was a bitch to say the least.
  25. I just picked up a Nikkor 28mm f2.8 Ai on ebay. Planning on shooting a music video with that lens only. Playing around with V Log. Screen grab of my little boy. EDIT: The green tint was intentional. I used a Fuji Cineon LUT with tint pushed slightly to green.
