A bit off topic here but this is such a bizarre story involving Leonardo DiCaprio. Apparently he did this short film back in 1996 with Tobey Maguire. He sued the director and had the movie banned from the US/Canada. The director finally decides to release it on Vimeo as private. http://freedonsplum.com/

Thanks Inazuma.

If you notice the handle on the top left, with some knobs in front, I think it's just the side profile of the Varicam style body.

It may not be a gimbal version of the V35. If you look on Panasonic's site they have modular setups for gimbal work with the V35. http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/varicam/35/config.html

Teal/Orange is very popular right now, but it actually has been used for a long time. It adds the ultimate in color contrast with orange hues for skin and teal hues for backgrounds/shadows. Another reason it's effective is that blue in a background creates the illusion of distance when orange/red is in the foreground. If you reverse it, and have orange/red in the background with a blue/teal foreground the distance appears shorter.

It's strange these days where the more simple a camera looks, the more expensive it is.

Yeah I hope it's not a gimbal version of the Varicam 35. They really need something in that FS7,C300,Raven,URSA range.

I hope this is that sub $10k cinema camera that we've all been waiting for. http://info.panasonic.com/index.php/email/emailWebview?mkt_tok=3RkMMJWWfF9wsRojvq%2FKZKXonjHpfsX87%2B4lUaC2lMI%2F0ER3fOvrPUfGjI4ET8JlI%2BSLDwEYGJlv6SgFTrDFMap10bgMWRY%3D

I think 60p is only in RS if I'm not mistaken.

GH4 4K has virtually no moire. You mentioned 1080 but hopefully you tried 4K.

Noam also said the Canon battery lasted the entire afternoon. That's great news as well for an improvement on the short BMPCC battery life.
-
Slow mo, GS, full size HDMI, and NO screen. The 2 things I really didn't like about the BMPCC were the micro HDMI output and the shitty screen just there draining battery.

is it under ISO 850? I've had some bad results below that. -
Hercules - The World's Smallest Camera Motion Control System
AaronChicago replied to blafarm's topic in Cameras
Yes I got the slowest speed to work. You may be right about the 20 lbs limit although that seems excessive. I've only tried it with GH4 and some various lenses. I would think 20lbs would stress the motors, but maybe not. I'm talking about the Hercules being on a surface (floor, table, etc) where it's okay to be seen in the shot. For example a wide angle lens push in on an object sitting on a table. -

Glad to see you picked up a C100ii. I haven't had that green streak problem. I have no idea what that could be. -
Hercules - The World's Smallest Camera Motion Control System
AaronChicago replied to blafarm's topic in Cameras
Yeah that will work. It doesn't go very fast. The video I posted above is the medium speed. I think the slower speed is perfect for electronic though b/c it's so hard to get smooth results at slow speeds on a big manual slider. Another really cool use for this is pushing in on a shot. With a slider you see the slide at the bottom of the frame unless you're using a long focal length. -

If you have a lightweight camera setup, and are okay with some noise leaking into the camera mic then absolutely. It's a great little piece of gear. -

Interesting 35mm vs Digital (Alexa) Comparison

Yedlin is going to be shooting Star Wars Episode VIII by the way. I'm guessing he'll go the Alexa route for that. -
Yeah just be careful of Slog 3 8 bit. It can so south really fast.

Ahh i missed that part about your BMCC. What are you wanting out of the 3rd camera that your others don't do?
