  1. If you do weddings I would say C100 for sure. That's the time with Dual Pixel AF is your best friend.
  2. If you A/B the C100mII and C300mI the image is better with the C100. Colors are much improved. Again, it's just a reputation that the C300 carries for being elite.
  3. I thought Jurassic World was well directed but the script/dialogue was extremely cheesy.
  4. Disney is hoping to bridge the gap between lifelong Star Wars fans, and a new generation that aren't fans yet. They're giving the original characters one last goodbye, and bringing in new characters/stories. Sounds like they're going the Marvel route with genre films in the Star Wars universe.
  5. Yes. Opening night I'm sticking to regular format for nostalgic purposes. The next day IMAX 3D.
  6. I hate to say it b/c I own a C100mII, but C300 carries a better name for camera hire. It's kind of stupid really that it comes down to that, and not talent. Reputation aside, I like the C100mkII better. The Dual Pixel AF is amazing. Also you get 60p @ 1080,
  7. I'm sure Ursa Mini is a better value, but it cannot even compete with those frame rate options. Along with 2K 240fps, and 2K ProRes full frame that isn't cropped.
  8. The base I/O is $15,000. EDIT: I see what you mean now by $5k more. I guess that's 1/3 of the price. Pretty significant to some people i guess.
  9. The resolution that I see from the C100/BMCC is ideal for me. I think what has made me reconsider is the new Blackmagic cameras. They just don't look as rich as the original models. The DR looks nice but it's just too sterile and digital-esque. Yeah I made that word up.
  10. I've sorta changed my tune recently on 4K. I really like true 1080 better for everything except product/landscape shots.
  11. I've been interested in trying this out lately. I hardly ever use Resolve though. Is there a plugin for Premiere or AE that goes hand-in-hand with the DSC One Shot?
  12. Yep, and RED has said that it was their team that shot it. I'm genuinely curious to see if the theory is true about using a low budget camera (sub $3000) on a high end production, to promote it, causes an influx in sales.
  13. i wouldn't call it a budget camera. $10,000 is a pretty penny these days. Plenty of mid to high level productions will use it im sure. Even as a B cam to an Epic.
  14. What other company has done this though? I can't think of any other promo that looks that good. Canon, Panasonic, Samsung, all botch theirs in a "professional environment". Sony has had a couple of good ones for the higher end cameras.
  15. Curious. If it's just an Amira with a firmware crop to S16 then why not just use an Amira as the educational camera. If it's a newly designed camera then it makes sense for S16.
  16. This is one of those times when story doesn't matter. People just want to see how it'll look in a pro environment. Look's damn good in my opinion.
  17. I did. Very minimal grading to be honest. I used the Cineon Film Contrast 1 LUT, and added a bit of saturation in the blues.
  18. Yeah Colin is an extraordinary musician. Plays every instrument on his EP.
  19. The 501/502 series is great. It reminds me alot of my iPhone display. Not quite as light, but almost
