That makes sense. I was just under the impression you were wanting to only correct the bad color shifts (yellows, reds).
-
Yeah you can do that in Adobe Media Encoder under Effects tab.

but in the case of GH4 you are bending twice. Once to flatten into LOG, then again back to a final graded look. What I'm saying is if the Natural/Portrait looks can retain enough info in highs/shadows to create a LOG image, then why not just make the tweaks in a Rec 709 LUT, and skip the middle process.
-
Every single LUT that I own supports Rec709 except the input LUTs with Lumetri in Premiere. Those are just for converting LOG to a Rec709 color space.
-
Is there an advantage to turning a Rec 709 image into LOG, and then adding LOG LUTs, instead of just adding Rec 709 LUTs to the "Natural, Portrait" profiles?

This guy has a solution. Buy 2.

I love the 12-35. You'll definitely get more use out of it with a wider angle, OIS, and light weight.
-
Nice job. I want to see that puppet video!
-
Totally. In my opinion there are VERY few flaws with the GH4 now.
-
Looks good. I tried out Inazuma's LUT yesterday and it seems to fix that yellow cast as well. No more orange instead of red.
-
If I were shooting a feature on a tight budget I would definitely pick one of these up.

I also commented that I've never seen that pink highlight situation, and added that in my experience it's a crap shoot on strange problems (never seen before) to pop up. I'm rooting so hard for Blackmagic b/c their image is stunning. I've owned a BMCC, and BMPCC. To me it just got so frustrating with oddball quirks that I haven't used them much lately unless it's a very relaxed schedule shoot, and/or I'm able to review the footage shot with a LUT.
-
I'd love to see a GH4 correction LUT.
-
Yes it is. Clipped highlights aside. Numerous other quirks. Still no fix on this for the pocket:

It's a crap shoot with Blackmagic on what's going to be jacked up when you review the footage in post. I got so tired of it. I shot an entire music video with fresnels hitting the side of the lens for a cool effect. Monitored on a pretty big screen and it looked fine. I get home to start editing and added contrast, freaking grid lines started appearing out of nowhere. I'm in love with their image but I can't wait for the day when everything just runs smooth.

What's going on with those pink highlights?

I broke my rules and pre-ordered the URSA Mini 4.6k

When is someone going to film Ubik?? -
I think it looks good. Showing off vintage cars is a genre where you want some deep saturation.

I don't plan on buying the 4.6K Mini Ursa upon release, but I'm rooting for it to be great. Stoked to see some more footage. -
I guess from a lens breathing perspective and focus throw, you could achieve the same with Rangefinder. The rugged build quality is an extra bonus with the Xeen lenses but is it worth the extra $1500?

Stumbled upon a possible GH4 color enhancing trick

The clip that I downloaded from Driftwood looked great. Very promising. -
Stumbled upon a possible GH4 color enhancing trick

Yeah the second video is more of a stylized look rather than true color, but I agree. If I spent time on it I'd use a secondary qualifier on their skin and bring down the yellow. What do you guys keep the saturation at in camera? -

Added Kodak 5205 Fuji 3510 (by Adobe) LUT on top to add some grit. -
I'll be shooting a couple of music videos with it at the end of the month. I'm still learning how to get the best looking footage out of it. Purely based off of eyeball test I can tell the C300 II looks a little more cinematic with the DR. I'm betting the colors are pretty close with the C100 though.
