  1. Camera D in the first 2 has to be a Blackmagic cam. The way the midtones are handled. Just a guess.
  2. Who will be the expert and name which camera is which?
  3. D for scene 1. D for scene 2. A and D for scene 3. D has more detail but I like the look of A.
  4. It angles away from the door. Do you have a cage for the GH4? I found a rock solid solution for keeping the micro HDMI in place. I use this cage: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FHUGEN-HONU-V2-0-VIDEO-CAGE-Kit-with-Top-Handle-HDMI-Clamp-for-GH3-GH4-A7-A7R-/231330143830?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35dc59de56 I use this HDMI clamp on the side.http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMALLRIG-HDMI-Cable-Clamp-1521-/251981734964?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aab482434 I simply place a small round metal cylinder (find at a hardware store) inside the clamp and push it against the micro HDMI input. Lock the Clamp. It's super secure. You can basically throw the cage around and it won't come loose. Here is a picture:
  5. You're spot on with sound. Hire a good sound person. It will give you way more production value.
  6. I saw an AMA with a scientist about AI and he said that the AI in Ex Machina is so far away in reality. It is a bit frightening but to know we're nowhere even close to the point of singularity is comforting.
  7. I mean after all, it was released for free on YouTube, where cat videos reign. Can't expect Kung Fury to speak profoundly to mankind.
  8. I just started using these coiled Atomos cables, and love them. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1065082-REG/atomos_atomcab007_1_x_coiled_micro.html
  9. I already know how this thread will end. People will say it sucks. Someone fires back and says "let's see what you've done better...", another person says "we can critique all we want". Then the thread closes.
  10. They used 5D's and FS700. Most of the film was shot in his house in front of a green screen
  11. It works in UHD (3840x2160) 23.98fps, but only in 59.9Hz, or PAL. When switching the camera to 24Hz in the menu in does not output a signal. I've contacted SmallHD about this and they say it works for them but I just don't believe it. I have 2 GH4's, and have had 2 SmallHD monitors. NONE worked in C4K.
  12. For some reason C4K 24hz doesnt work with SmallHD monitors. I've had both DP7 and 502, neither work with C4K. Aside from that, i highly recommend 501/502. Super light and amazing picture.
  13. I'd love to see someone fund him 10 million for a full length feature. Of course giving him full creative control.
  14. Watched this earlier. So awesome!
  15. What do you have the GH4 set as your HDMI output? You can try AUTO, 1080, etc. Also, have you tried multiple resolutions? UHD, HD?
  16. Yeah it gets pretty hot. Had it running for 6 hours though.
  17. I used the 502 on a job for the first time today and LOVED it. It's so great. Super sharp and great colors. Basically like looking at an iPhone 6 mounted on the camera.
  18. Such a bummer for me. I ordered the 502 and a week later they announce 501. It's always nice to have SDI available in case though.
  19. That looks nice. Fairly light. I had a DP7 for GH4/BM and it was so heavy (1.5 lbs) that I just couldn't take it anymore. I sold it and got a SmallHD 502 which is feather light. It stays on top of smalls cameras with ease. EDIT: The main reason I love using SmallHD with GH4 and BM is the LUT feature. It helps to have a custom LUT to see in the field when shooting LOG or Cine D.
  20. No problem. Check out this video and it shows the differences. I use an FX 1. Anything below that is very subtle and not worth it, in my opinion.
  21. It depends on what camera you are using but most of the super sharp digital cameras will benefit with a Digital Diffusion FX filter. It gives a nice soft look without losing resolution.
  22. I'm totally in agreement here. Seems like few people are actually wanting bigger bodies.
  23. I'm not too torn up about not being able to use face tracking. Continuous AF is good enough and I always have my left thumb on AF lock. If the camera is still and someone is walking away/toward its just as easy to use manual focus.
