  1. This one seems pretty nice. It's 31.5". It uses multistream input though, which isn't a huge deal if you're using one monitor. http://www.asus.com/News/L9xTPmmMwTlPMq5l
  2. I did consider that 5K Dell as well. I settled on 2 27" 4k's for less money.
  3. Hmm. Well I can tell you with 100% certainty that mine works at 60Hz with a single DisplayPort. Still skeptical about daisy chaining a second one, but it'll arrive Friday and I can test it out.
  4. Yes. Dell says it can run 2 at 60hz. I ordered a 2nd one so I'll see if thats true Friday.
  5. yes but only the newest update CC 2014.2
  6. i'm not sure i know what you mean by usable. The UI scales so it's the same size as a normal monitor. It's just that you see no pixels. Sorta like the jump from the iPhone 3G to the 4 retina display.
  7. Hey Chris, I can tell you that colors/detail/gamma look better than the UltraSharp series. I actually hooked up my old Dell U2410 next to it and laughed b/c it looked so shitty. I've been very pleased.
  8. Heads up: This monitor is on sale right now. $175 off. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&sku=210-ADOF
  9. Looks good. I've never owned one, but I always liked what SLR Magic hyper primes do to the image.
  10. This is a toss up. Birdman was very inventive and took an enormous amount of skill and precision. The Grand Budapest Hotel just looked so great with the various aspect ratios, and framing. Haven't seen the others yet, but they look pretty standard.
  11. i don't have Resolve so I'm not sure. Do you have the latest version? I know Adobe took awhile to get Premeire ready.
  12. Yes, I am probably going to get another one in a couple of months. I feel like its finally become the right time to buy at 4K monitor. The 3 biggest things I was waiting for were: 60hz, single stream Display Port, and Adobe CC apps to adapt to HiDPI retina screens.
  13. Just picked up a new Dell P2715Q 27" IPS 4K monitor. It's gorgeous, and very affordable at $699. It's basically a 4K version of the Ultra Sharp series. Highly recommended if you're looking into a single stream Display Port monitor.
  14. I went away for a month, and came back to see Andrew's top camera a Canon 1DC! The apocalypse is nye!
  15. I love the concept. This is exactly like something I'd be interested in buying. The clip however looks bad. Slow Mo looks very choppy like something wrong happened with the shutter or encode. Keeping an eye on how this turns out though.
  16. Nightcrawler has the best acting performance of the year IMO , with Jake Gyllenhaal. Not sure about best film though. I really enjoyed Gone Girl, and Boyhood.
  17. It doesn't look like more resolution than GH4 4K downscaled to 2K. Plus you'll miss the opportunity to re-frame if you need it.
  18. To me- the Vari ND's don't shift color as much as with the BMCC's. I just use the Lightcraft II Vari ND and I really like it.
  19. If anyone is interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161464044028?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  20. I just bought a second GH4. My Blackmagic pocket is up on ebay if anyone is interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161464044028?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  21. Use film LUTs with Cinelike D and you wont have a problem with GH4 colors.
  22. Give any camera a little time and you'll be able to master it. IMO the GH4 is very versatile. I havent used my BM cam in months bc Ive been able to dial in a look that i love more on the GH4.
