Holy cow. Grades smooth as butter.

Keep in mind too if you're using the brick add on you'll need external power. It's basically geared toward a big rig setup.

The cinelike profile on af100 wasnt flat at all. Good to hear they changed it for the GH4.

If you want a consistant look across all of your primes I would go with Rokinon/Samyang. The 14mm isnt very good but all others are in my opinion. They all come in Cine versions too. I have 16, 24, 35, and 85. Use them with the Nikon Speedbooster. I know it isn't a prime lens but I would seriously consider getting the Sigma 18-35 with a Speedbooster. I have been using that lens now for pretty much 75% of shooting. It can cover all of your ranges from 14-35 (with speedbooster of course).

Does anyone have a good recommendation on a battery that will power a Blackmagic camera, and a SmallHD monitor simultaneously? I know that Anton Bauer is an option but i was hoping to find a slightly more inexpensive solution.

No global shutter? Yawn. Just kidding of course. This thing looks amazing.

GH3 and BMPCC. It's tough to keep steady handheld. I think it works best with tripod or shoulder rig.

Did you grade the middle one? If so, it looks great.

I just picked up the Nikon Speedbooster for the Sigma 18-35. How do you accurately judge what F-Stop that you're at? It's numbered as 7 stops, which I'm guessing is up to f22. There's just no easy way to quickly jump to f4, or f2.8 if you need it without doing math.

I think over the course of many years, if Hollywood DP's shot on camcorders, and amateurs shot with film then everyone would be after the camcorder look.

No doubt that these technical charts are essential to top quality performance. Many find it very interesting, and worth a "hobby." When I see this stuff though it's a BUZZKILL.

So would you edit in a 4k timeline, then render out a cineform 1080 10 bit file, then grade? Just trying to get my head around the workflow.

How likely would it be for BM to release a super 35mm global shutter pocket cam? 1080p only.

It does have a couple of advantages, but I remember them wanting to shake up the formula by giving people what they wanted with Raw. Since then Blackmagic has swooped in and dominated. I think it's cool as hell though how they were just 2 people wanting to make a special camera.

I kinda feel bad for Digital Bolex. They spent so much time prepping D16 and now it just seems outdated.

Pro Mist does give light sources a bit of glow, but to me it doesn't look like a "beauty filter." I shot this video with the Black Pro Mist 1/4 on the entire time.

Low Con filters or Pro Mist filters are the way to go. I use a Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4 on all GH3 shots to bring down the harshness.

Isn't it almost guaranteed that they'll announce a slow-mo cam at NAB? Or pocket 4k.

I don't know alot about compression, so does the image look (saturation, etc) bake in before it's kicked to 4:2:0?
