  1. Just watched the "Light Of Yucatan" video in 4K on YouTube. That detail is insane! Looks like a moving poster.
  2. I'm curious about the WiFi/NFC connectivity. Does this mean monitoring on an iPad?
  3. I wonder if this new card would work. It claims UHS class 3, 90MBs read, 80MBs write. Only $106 http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Digital-64GB-UHS-I-Speed/dp/B00I3BQJNA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1391713283&sr=1-1&keywords=SDA3%2F64GB
  4. Here is a frame grab from GH3, Rokinon 35mm, at F4.
  5. Latest word from Metabones is they're in final stages of an electronic EF - M43. I guess it's not really BMPCC specific though. I just picked up a chinese EF-M43 non-electronic focal reducer on ebay. It works great with the BMPCC.
  6. Definitely swapping my BMPCC for this. Only thing I'll most likely miss is the Film Log.
  7. Hopefully we'll see soon.
  8. I was just considering selling my BMPCC and getting another GH3, but if these specs are true I'm putting in a pre-order for this bad boy.
  9. More updated rumours from 43rumors.com - G4K has focus peaking - There is an attachable XLR adapter - H264 codec all intra that give 422 color all intra in 100 mbps. To record this you will need to buy the new P2 Micro card in SD shape made by Panasonic (see image on top) - it will be switch-able from 4K and 1080P with various frame rates (can shoot 120fps at 1080P for example)
  10. Edgar Wright is a master of the quick zoom, and uses it very tastefully.
  11. Don't buy a TV. The Dell UltraSharp series are great. Covers a huge range of color gamut. They're screen doesn't glare, and the viewing angles are superb.
  12. There's no doubt 4K is going to be an improvement image quality, but I've decided this year to invest in things such as stabilizers and lighting for production value. Then in 2015 make the jump to 4k.
  13. http://www.43rumors.com/hot-first-picture-of-the-panasonic-gh-4k-camera/ Looks exactly like the GH3 body.
  14.   No that doesn't work. However I figured out a pretty simple method.   1.Import your DNG sequences to Premiere. 2.Edit the native DNG's in Premiere.(Runs very smooth on my computer.) 3.After you finish editing 'right click' individual clips and 'replace with After Effects Composition.' 4. After Effects opens up and you can edit the Raw clip with the ACR controls. 5. Go back to Premiere and your clip is graded.
  15. I tried it out today as well. Have you figured out a way to make color adjustments in Premiere, like the Photoshop Raw editor, or After Effects Raw editor?
  16. For video, DO NOT go with Canon DSLRs. Switching to Panasonic GH series was the best decision I ever made for image quality. Just my 2 cents.
  17. I shot this music video for The Fold using the GH3, and a couple of car exterior shots with the Blackmagic Pocket Camera.   https://vimeo.com/76622768     Lenses: Panasonic 12-35 2.8, Rokinon 35 & 85. Black Pro Mist 1/4 filter on most shots.   I used an Ice Light for a couple of shots where I had no access to power, and it totally screwed me. Check out the motel scene, and  you will notice rolling bands. I later figured out if the intesity of the light wasnt at 100 then it created the bands. For the most part I was totally pleased with the GH3, especially with the 60p.
  18. Bmcc is just as easily a one man crew as a 5D. Pulling out a 5" ssd isnt any more work than pulling out a 2" CF card. You wouldnt be swapping out as often either.
  19. I just got the BMPCC, and I can attest to the GH3 similarities. The ONLY advantage I've seen for the BMPCC is the Log recording for extreme color grading. If you're doing any type of normal grading they are very similar.
