BIG NEWS - Hands on with CONTINUOUS raw recording on Canon 5D Mark III
AaronChicago replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Does this mean ill have to break out a slate? Pluraleyes is just so darn convenient. -
I'm hoping that it's possible for Tiffen to make a variable IRND filter. I own the variable ND and it's nice, although you see color shifts toward the higher end.

What are those vertical lines in the sky at 0:40, on the hacked version? -
I remember seeing his previous film Primer, and the first 15 minutes were very distracting because of how bad it looked. Shots within the same scene were different color temperatures, and out of focus. However, as the story moved forward I didn't notice it anymore, and loved the movie. Glad to see he's stepped up his game in the look of this film.

Ugh I thought it was the m43 version when I read your headline.

Rent both of them and try them out first. If you're in the US check out lensrentals.com

BMCC is in stock at Adorama...

Nice skin tones.

Maybe if you have Nikon glass. For people with m43, canon glass it makes way more sense to get the GH3.

A film that shows off the Blackmagic Cinema Camera

This is one of the best floating around. For a big list of other ones (some good, some not so good) check out this thread: http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4848 -
Great monitor. OLED is sweet, but it doesnt really make sense to spend the extra money unless OLED is used down the entire workflow and delivery.

You can stretch the 24 bit files EQ a long way in post. I'm constantly shocked at the miracles performed in Adobe Audition.

METABONES Twitter account... does not exist anymore?
AaronChicago replied to kabuto1138's topic in Cameras
Looks like the m43 version wont be around anytime soon. http://www.metabones.com/speed-booster-questions We apologize but the m4/3 schedule is slipping. Manual focus lenses such as Nikon, Leica R, Contax C/Y, Contarex, ALPA and Rollei will be supported in the second half of 2013. Canon EF lens (but not EF-S) support is planned in the future, but we do not have an estimated date yet. The m4/3 version also reduces focal length by a 0.71x factor. So, the combined focal length multiplier of a m4/3 camera and Speed Booster is 1.4x. (2x from camera x 0.71x from Speed Booster.) The optics are optimized for the smaller sensor size. -
You bring up a good point about ergonomics. GH3 is the winner in image quality, but it's lacking in the ergonomics/hardware dept. I'm hoping Panasonic creates a GH camera with a big 5D type body and a better LCD screen.

Are you dropping your footage into a new sequence, or creating a sequence prior to dropping in your footage?

Motion control rigs exist already for bigger budget projects. Not sure if this is really a game changer for everyone. Maybe for indie filmmakers.

Ahh okay, I see.

He is not a clown. He is extremely nice, and takes time to answer almost any question via twitter or email. Very knowledgeable.

Really? It is what ignited the DSLR video frenzy. https://vimeo.com/7151244

I know that he works closely with Canon, and Kessler. Considering that it's not a camera, I'm guessing Kessler.
