  1. From Vincent Laforet's blog:   I’m also very excited to help introduce a piece of camera equipment that I think clearly deserves being called a "game changer."    I feel the same way about the device that I shot with a few weeks ago – and haven’t felt that way about ANYTHING I’ve seen or shot with since the Canon 5D MKII (The RED Epic is close – the only reason it didn’t make the list was due to the fact that it’s simply not affordable to the amateur market.)   And that’s why I’ve chosen to to repeat the same blog title for only the second time in nearly 5 years for this launch…     source: http://blog.vincentlaforet.com/2013/03/31/nab-2013-schedule-and-something-very-special-coming-to-this-blog-part-ii/   Any ideas on what it might be? It's not a camera.
  2. Yes thats right. You can have 2.35 on top of other functions as well.
  3. AC7 all the way. Trust me you'll be happy. The colors are off by default but they can be corrected with a few tweaks.
  4. Hey all. This is the first thing that I've shot with the GH3. It's a commercial for a technology company. I'm loving the combo of the camera and this lens. Check it out.   https://vimeo.com/61824609
  5. I thought Joaquin was great in The Master, however he was going against DDL. Anytime DDL is in a film, other actors are just happy to be nominated. Denzel was also wonderful in Flight. It was a good year for actors.
  6. I have to agree with you here. Django was my favorite film of 2012. Argo was great too, but I wanted to see Django 2 or 3 times.
  7. The Nikon resolution looks better to my eye.
  8. Thanks for the help. I didn't own a GH2, and I know alot of you guys are familiar with the design of these cameras. I previously used mostly Canon cameras. I'm thoroughly impressed with the GH3 image. Overall better than the Canon's that I owned. I must say that I'm a bit disappointed in ergonomics and features for the most part. When connected to a RedRock rig, and external monitor it's not much of an issue though.
  9. Thanks. I had it on gamma *1. I will turn the brightness up. Im guessing the banding shadows arent a defect either then. Again, not that it affects the output, but its just annoying.
  10. Its definitely not a deal breaker, just annoying. The color shift is the least annoying of the 3 problems I'm seeing on the screen. #1 is the screen brightness flickering as I turn the screen. #2 the banding in the shadows.
  11. It's not at extreme angles. I'm talking about at 10 degrees or more. Serious green shift. My 60D, 7D, or FS100 screens dont come anywhere close to this kind of shift.
  12. I'm just wondering if it's a certain group of cameras. It only seems like a few people are complaining about the problem. It's a blatent defect, in my opinion.
  13. I don't think they're arguing television content is dying. Just the actually device. If anything, television shows are passing cinema in quality of storytelling.
  14. If you dont care as much about resolution and bitrate then the 60D will work. It feels great in the hand. Nice and sturdy. What kind of shooting do you do? If its run n gun, or event type situations i would go with a fast zoom with IS. If you do alot of narrative, or interview type stuff then I would go with primes.
  15. Any particular reason you're going with the 60D? I own one and I can say that it's my least favorite video DSLR. I love it for a stills camera though. The 1080 image always looks mushy compared to the GH2/3, or FS100.
  16. Ive now experienced 3 different problems with the LCD. The green tint at any viewing angle other than straight on. A flickering of brightness when i rotate the screen. Also horrible blocky gradients in the shadows (which dont show up on the recorded file).
  17. I can't comment on the best, but I can tell you to stay away from the Marshall 5". It was the biggest piece of garbage. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.
  18. I love it too. The tinted viewing angle is the only problem ive had. I think ill contact panasonic.
  19. I just got the GH3 this week, and mine does the same thing. Wondering if it's a defect.
  20. Can you have aspect guides + focus assist working at the same time on the AC7?
  21. The real question is.....will Episode VII be in 3D. I'm almost 100% sure it will.
  22. Thanks, nice review. I was thinking about picking one up but wanted to hear some reviews first. Looks solid.
