I think it looks great. Nice work Zach. Your edit style and the image work well for the subject matter. I find mirrorless cameras much better suited to shooting video, but none of that matters, the final piece overall is what matters and this is Really nice!

Oh I know, Goodman's speech was probably a high point. He's a real talent. I will definitely check out the original. I think overall the movie was pretty good at showing how pathetic a gambling addict can be. Even when the guy has a pretty good life otherwise.

I was pleasantly surprised with The Gambler last night, not that it was any kind of award winner, but it was definitely watchable and the camera work was really nice. Shot in Anamorphic. I'd really like to recreate this look myself. Anyone else watch this?

What lenses would you like to see in the future? Design one.

I'd like a 5.5 or 6.5mm F/1.2 MFT prime lens. A nice ultra-wide indoor low light lens. -
Running around any national park, remote farmland, or large city for a day and getting beauty shots would have been far more watchable than this. Anyway, the camera looked good.

A western would be a great project! Good luck with it.

New Metabones Speedbooster for the GH4 - S35 crop size!
johnnymossville replied to nahua's topic in Cameras
I'm really looking forward to some tests with multiple lenses. I think this is the speed booster I've been waiting for. I'm always on the fence about going the speed booster route or going with great native MFT glass, love the image quality out of the GH4 and the speed boosted just gives it that little extra. -
The little GM1 looked great across the board to me, especially in the outdoors shot and DR. Though I picked the blackmagic in the first scene as best.

Which lens is the best for Panasonic G7 for 4K Video from this list
johnnymossville replied to LimitBreak's topic in Cameras
the Olympus 45 f/1.8 is probably my favorite lens. It makes me really want the Olympus 12mm, 17.5 and 25mm. That 45mm just shoots amazingly beautiful and sharp 4k. -

I think I'm going to be getting one, but I want to see some tests first. -
Camera C in part 2 looked best to me. D looked good as well.

ok I'll go a bit further with my opinion. A. The colors are a bit funky and the skin looked like it was artificially softened. This actually might be a good thing in many situations. Overall I liked A. Sony A7S? B. Seemed to capture a pleasing looking image with the right amount of detail and color. This was my favorite in all scenes, but I like A quite a bit as well. Samsung or GH4? C. Looked soft, possibly out of focus, the colors were fairly pleasing again, but seemed a bit over done. Canon Colors? D. Looked the worst to me, The detail was good, the colors weren't bad, but the image had a harshness to it I just don't find pleasing. No Idea what cam this is.

The GH2 with a 7mm lens would be fantastic for this with a better image than the gopro, keep in mind the battery will only last about 1.5 to 2 hours unless you have external batteries.

I suspect cards that are formatted to ExFAT are reformatted to FAT32 when you insert them into the GH4. I'm going to check this later.
-
IS won't be much of an issue with the 7-14 being so wide. I'm thinking it's my next lens.
-
1. The 4GB clips are a function of the file system used on SD cards. It uses FAT32 which has a maximum file size of 4GB. Be thankful they span beautifully on the GH4. 2. Do you have Adobe Media Encoder? 3. I don't think it matters either way whether you use mp4 or mov. I could be wrong so get other opinions on this one.

The GH2's 1080p is still one of the best out there. I love my GH2 and will not be parting with it any time soon.

That was great. The emotion on the Walrus's face were spot on. Beautifully done.

Gitzo also has a hybrid head, but it doesn't appear to be arcs swiss. The versatility of the Arca Swiss head and all the aftermarket parts are what really draws me to the mount.
-
The Acratech really does look like a great solution for the hybrid video/stills shooter who also likes to travel light and small. I might pull the trigger on that and do a proper review. I'm sure there are others out there looking for similar setups.
-
I've been searching for a small/light fluid head and tripod setup for ages it seems. using all Arca Swiss would be perfect as well. The Acratech looks about as close to what I need as I've seen, but I haven't seen one review or real world test yet.
