IBIS comparison with S9

A camera should be a tool for capturing the data with highest possible integrity, not a "machine artist". When you have the data with highest possible integrity, you have the choice to make it as trendy as it gets, or keep it as clinical as it is.

If you want unlimited recording in any temp, and at this price point or even a bit higher, you have to give up something, either Full frame sensor (GH7) or EVF and higher than 4k resolution (FX3), or internal raw (S5ii). There is no conspiracy to not giving customers a perfect camera. The reality is that making everything right is becoming more and more expensive.

No, its not stacked fast. Its just faster than non-stacked sensors.

That line support came out of nowhere, and makes me think how this rumor/leak business works. Nobody cares about audio to the point that when they want to leak a feature, the audio related ones don't cross their mind.

Lol maybe I'm wrong "The Nikon Z6 III is rumored to have a stacked sensor (or partially stacked?) from Sony. That same sensor is expected to be used in the upcoming Sony a7S IV, rumored to be announced later this year. I was told that Nikon got a special and exclusive contract with Sony and only Nikon and Sony will use this specific sensor. Nikon had to buy a lot of them in order for Sony to agree on exclusivity. This explains the rumored high price of the Z6 III."

I still can't believe its stacked, even at higher price. We'll see.

37 minutes is probably the longest you can record 6k raw. Most of the heat comes from CFexpress card, and highest bit rate is at 6k raw.

Updated specs: - New processing engine (EXPEED 7?) - 37-120min record time - Updated focus algorithm (better than ℤ8/ℤ9?) - Near 100% AF coverage of the frame - The playback button is in the same place as ℤ8 (bottom right), as opposed to ℤ6II, which is on the top left side of the camera - Weight: 700-750g - Price: around €3,000 in Europe (less in the US) - A new version of Nikon NX Studio with support for the ℤ6 III is expected to be released soon _____________ The price hike and new version of software to support indicates its totally new sensor. But interestingly they don't mention "stacked". I don't understand why new processor and why now? Nikon tends to upgrade its Expeed with the flagship, not with a midranger.

No 240fps 4k. Kasey will be disappointed.

If its on top of a very good preamp. Otherwise it would be like taking a photo in a dark environment at ISO 51200 with 16bit raw.

His response was so professional that for a moment I thought its too good to be true. It like doing Jeremy Clarkson meme, "oh no... anyway".

Well, apparently they used one stock photo for their marketing material, and one taken by a Nikon camera, by a Nikon ambassador: https://photorumors.com/2024/05/28/more-bad-news-for-panasonic-lumix-s9-product-page-controversy-and-the-use-of-stock-photos I mean its like Shark do a deep carpet cleaning test, and use a Dyson 😅

We've been told Sony eye AF is way ahead of Nikon and others. Someone at DPR had a issue with Z8 eye AF. Another guy tried to test it in the similar scenario that guy encountered the problem. Confirmed the issue, then compared that with a Canon and a Sony camera in exactly same situation. Sony and Nikon performance in low light was close to each other but acted differently, Canon was better than both, and never focused on wrong eye or eyelashes. Would this convince me to switch to Canon? No. But I want to know what my next camera CAN'T do. Maybe I decide to wait a bit longer to upgrade.

What I understand now is that working with these YouTubers is extremely hard and I feel sorry for marketing people of camera brands who have to work with them.

If you wanna do LUTs in camera, you better do it with the help of AI, which changes the way it applies the LUT in different exposure and white balance scenarios while keeping skin tones in control. And only chips you find in modern smartphones can handle that.

Was this guy responsible for the genius idea of putting a CFE card inside Red mini mag and charge 10x?

The reality about disruptive products is that most of the time its not sustainable way of releasing new products. You can't stay disruptive long term. Japanese do care a lot about cash flow. Thats why they have 100 years old companies.

Different pixel sizes, probably different pixel fill factor, different AA filters, different resolving power in lenses used. You should make sure all of these are equal in your comparison, then discuss about the difference in algorithms and processing strategies.

6k60p at 16:9 and 6k30p open gate was mentioned in almost all different rumors.
