The Lupo, is, surprisingly brighter. It also has higher CRI, arguably lasts longer (the Godox has 3 times the power draw, the Lupo uses NP-F-series batteries meaning that there are mmultiple capacity battery options (meaning you could go for hours on large capacity batteries), and is cheaper too $159 vs $349 (for the battery version of the Godox, the SLB60W). The guys at Cinema5d tested the new Full Frame Canon C500 Mark ii, and ranked it for the highest dynamic range for any camera they've tested (at 13.1 Stops), apart from the Arri. https://***URL not allowed***/canon-c500-markii-lab-test-dynamic-range-latitude-rolling-shutter/ They've obviously not rested any of the REDs and many other cameras, and I also suspect that the Arri would have scored a hair under 14stops, but they didn't have the guts to release the score, fearing backlash. Also, people have been mocking their dynamic range tests, like everyone else (including that former BBC affiliated gentlemen who scored the GH5s at 14.7 stops). The S1H has the same sensor as the S1, which has a dynamic range of 14.5 stops in Stills mode (according to DXO mark, though not sure at what exact signal to noise ratio). Cinema5d calculated its dynamic range to be 12.7 stops for Video (different mode than stills, since it's for video, and 10-bit instead of 12-bit). So, if the Canon C500 Mark ii was a stills camera, in still mode, one could probably add another 1.8 stops (+/-), to get about 14.9 stops or so. Which means, that Canon seems to have caught up with Sony's Image Sensors and maybe even surpassed them (the C500 Markii also has Class Leading Rolling Shutter for a Full Frame sensor). Also, the ability to pull up an image from almost 5 stops of underexposure, is also probably class leading for a camera at that price point (and maybe many above). This probably means that the Canon R5 and other R Series cameras are also going to be extremely competitive for video as well as for stills. For the longest we've been ranting about Canon not having enough dynamic range, for stills or video, but I am guessing it's not just caught up with Sony, it's probably even beating it in many aspects. If Canon can price their R Series reasonably, and not do the old Canon trick of disabling features, it could pose a serious threat to Sony and everyone else around.

I agree with many things Trump does and disagree with many others. Anyone who completely agrees or disagrees with anyone, including God, is probably a Communist, not because he doesn't have opinions, but because there is an absolute ban on expressing any opinion, not in complete compliance with the dictats of the top leadership. This post almost seems like it's right out of Communist China or USSR under Stalin or Lenin or Germany under Hitler. In any civil world, one can Agree to Agree or Agree to Disagree, and both choices are respected. Lack of choice is the foundation of Communism, whether disguised as hard left, or modern age liberals trolling anyone and everyone on social media and in public, even their own brethren, if opinions aren't expressed by an exact expression of phrases and words, including calling everyone else in disagreement with themselves (including non radical liberals) as fascists and racists and evil and (ironically) intolerant and other names. If the whole purpose of this post is about politics, maybe politics should be kept out of discussions here. Or dedicate a thread to political discussions (if political discussion can ever be called that). Ban me or ban whoever you want. The world population in 1300 AD was between 360 and 432 million. If 200 million were wiped out by the plague, Europe would be completely empty (since the majority of its victims were Europeans). It did take Europe apparently 200 years to get back to its original population (or population growth trajectory), but the figures are growly exaggerated. Europe probably didn't have 200 million inhabitants during that period.

This thread had turned into less of a discussion on the Corona Virus/Covid-19 Outbreak/Epidemic/Pandemic and more of guys having their periods (we're a hundred times worse than the women, and we don't even have biology to support our behavior). They should probably hand out male sanitary napkins along with face masks and testing kits, to help everyone calm their t!ts. I don't care about anyone whining or spewing vitriolic in disagreement with me, someone who hasn't or cannot read newspapers or watch the news and is drowned in his political bullshit of a viewpoint, or someone generally frustrated with life and everything in it. It reminds me of college when some office staff worker pushed me and I punched him in retaliation (I am very rarely provoked). I was taken to the principal who asked the guy why he was misbehaving. When he said his mother died the precious evening, I asked him why he came to work instead of being at her funeral/cremation, and there was this strange silence. He got his leave and the principal apologised to me. Long story short, if your life is completely screwed up and the world is getting screwed too, stop spreading the rabid vitriolic. Everyone already has enough on their plates. And quite frankly nobody gives a flying f that your life is sad or you're planning to jump off a 100 floor building. Right now, sensible people are keeping themselves away from infections, stocking up essentials, and having a few backup plans.

I have friends and family in London, and I am surprised at how little is being done by the Government for testing and quarantining people, leave alone having lock-down, and forced holidays (or making people work from home). At this rate, Emgland will have much faster spread of the virus than possibly even Germany (where Merkel claims 60-70% of the population will be infected).

You'd be surprised, but CNN and the BBC are available to most of the world. One doesn't even have to watch them for hours, to figure out the direction of the narrative for the day.

If people were so moral and self policing, there would no need for government agencies. There would either be no crimes or all criminals would hand themselves in and be punished without lengthy court cases. The majority of the cases are simply because people don't believe their cough and flu symptoms could possibly be covid-19, or because they believe they have no duty to stay in isolation, even after they have been tested positive (or disappeared before results are out). That's how South Korea got the numbers to seell so quickly, in the first place. Telling me that 3 people every day in my areas have developed the virus would make most people in my area get hyper and panicky. It's easier to just test people and isolate them, without insane levels of publicity, especially the mobile alerts of people having been found in localities. The Media in the US and S.Korea aren't even in the same ballpark. Right now, the US media is too busy trying to make everyone believe that covid-19 was probably created in the US, and that no geographical references to Wuhan or China should be made wrt the virus. They are busy with fostering all kinds of curious narratives, instead of helping people contain the problem. I read another report or watched some news saying that the FDA was to be blamed partially, for bureaucratic delays wrt to handling things. Maybe that will also be investigated soon enough, with guilty people punished. After all, this isn't just another flu.

Around the months leading up to the Presidential Elections in 2016, for many months, there were all sorts of fake polls and campaigns, which suggested that Trump had less than 1% chances of winning, and that Hillary was GUARANTEED to win. I realised that this fake narrative constitutes the majority of mainstream media news (I have realised that they are fake news, after all). So, while I do believe Trump has his foot in his mouth (or both), any criticism of Trump from the liberal presstitutes isn't believable, by a long shot. It's a mystery why Italy has handled the crisis so badly. Or maybe the Politicians in Italy are busy doing the Bulosconi, with illegal money and underaged girls, and that's why they have Done Almost Nothing to fight the Pandemic. Hopefully, once this gets over, heads will roll (they should probably introduce the guillotine again).

Let's ignore the lame jokes, and get on with the Film challenge. It can be shot on ANYTHING (Alexa, DSLR, Mirrorless Smartphone, GoPro, Spycam etc). Sound should be decent. No restrictions on the story. Acting can be as bad as can be expected from a paranoid filmmaker locked with 4 walls. No limit on how many short films you can submit. Jack Maa, the Chinese Billionaire (Alibaba), is apparently donating 1Million Masks and 500,000 testing kits to the US. Though I suspect that these maks may be made in China, and most likely in the November 2019 - February 2020 period, when most masks that are made in China are dated for (and which incidentally, are during the time of the outbreak/epidemic/pandemic). I am mentioning the date and country of origin, causs I ordered masks from different retailers on Amazon, and all seem to be Made in China, and during this period itself. Please check all maks that you use, for their date of manufacture and their country of origin. The last thing you want is a contaminated mask. Maybe these masks can be sanitised and then used. I have no idea, I am merely guessing.
