I agree. Also average or usable preamps would be nice ?. My friend used the ProRes LT and I thought it would be pretty lousy till he used it. For the bitrate, it is pretty good.
-
Peace everyone. Let's discuss the exciting BMPCC 4k.
-
Sir, are u also drinking like me right now? Lol
-
If it does 4k 60p, is priced at $1499 or less, has many favlours of prores and has decent battery (1.5 hours), and decent preamps, it may actually eat into some of the market of other low budget film cameras (GH5?). What it will lack is IBIS, photo shooting (Hybrid camera talents(, super long battery life, dual card slows, battery grip options, decent low light (they may be able to push ISO to 1600 by improving processing), water resistence, excellebt LCD and EVF etc. Anything above $1500 may be hard to justify especially with average or bad battery life and bad sound/ preamps. I wish the next Blackmagic Pocket Camera has some kickass ecosystem (external sound, good 5 inch affordable monitor-cum-recorder, external batteries etc).

Wow. If that is what is had turned into, it's like shrek, where the princess turns into fiona. Also, the sensor is as tiny as ever, and the body looks like a flattened APS-C sizes camera squeezed under a hydraulic press. Now it's pocketable in purses, perhaps. Or huge jacket pockets.
-
Oh ok, thanks for the info @cantsin I guess there are a lot of sensors that do Not make it to public view, because manufacturers either make them on order, or, because they are first sent to former buyers to give them the first right to buy them. I guess that's why there is such a long guessing game on.
-
I always wondered Who Manufactured the sensor used in the BMPCC. It's even Smaller than a 1inch sensor and yet it apparently has 13 stops of dynamic range (which is a hair more than any M43 sensor).
-
I hope it has the 4.6k sensor instead of the 4k sensor. The difference between the two is just too much. P.S. that sensor size may most likely be different, so this comment may not be valid.
-
Thank you for the reply. Will check this out. I already like the pan shot in camera (4k live cropping?). I think it's pretty good. I only wish they had more time options (and perhaps more movement) options in it. I also love the new photo stacking with multiple images on a single image option that they have on the next GX9 (sequence composition).

How smooth are the transitions in your opinion? I find all sorts of jumps while focusses on Panasonic cameras in video. Would you say these are comparable with a smooth manual focus pulling action?

Apple has a (justified) paranoia about security and compromise. That is why they moved from Flash to HTML5, among a host of other software. Intel is a security nightmare thanks to Meltdown and Spectre and a host of other hazards that nobody probably talks about. Plus looking at smartphone chip developments, it seems Intel has been sleeping for way too long. I hope AMD makes a threadripper version for laptops to compete with this i9 for both performance and price. Intel has also been abusing its dominant position by overhanging for its processors. It is another Canon. And since Canon celebrated its No.1 position for the 15 Consecutive Year, it doesn't really care about what a handful of well informed filmmakers (youtubers, documentary makers etc etc) want.

You seriously nailed it. Also the Charlatans more than anyone else, are to be blamed for this entire mess. Their ludicrous private chats with the male child (since he seems to have a history of misleading, and more importantly because nobody has met him yet, I don't believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt) is the cause for all this mess. He made all sorts of claims, and the forum's male mothers began giving in, molly coddling him, and openly defending the fraud. They blew all logic and reason to the wind. If they knew some school shootout kids, they would get down on the streets to defend them. People who merely asked for proof were called bullies, whereas he and his mummy-daddies were the ones doing the actual name calling. Today is 1st April. But it hardly matters. If this great child genius hacked his camera successfuly he didn't need a future date to give proof. And NOBODY in the world is so busy, that they can chat on this threat for Hours, and yet not give proof of a Single DNG file for the raw hack. Especially if it has been in use already. I am not sure what came out of all this. I doubt whether the gullible blind fools will admit their folly in private, much less in public.
-
By 1st April 2022, I will release a hack whereby you will be able to shoot 5k RAW on you Mavic Air. I am sharing this pic. I don't know what's it's got to do with the 5k hack, but honestly, who cares.
-
Even after the incentive ... I guess, a damp squid is a damp squib. I wonder if any more proof of fraud is required.
-
Thank you. I think both the pics are JPEG quality (4k in 4-2-8 8-bit, and curiously their exposure seems Pretty Off, visible from how quickly the photo disintegrated when he tried to sell it as a DNG file). That's why his effort at trying to fool us fell flat on his face. The position of the cars and trucks at the traffic signal give it away. Also they are less then 5 seconds apart, as can be noticed from the position of various vehicles and ships/boats in the pic. People claiming he is some 12 year old, mentally unsound, undicovered geek, oppressed kid blah blah blah are the ones feeding all the tomfoolery. These members should be given a 1 week ban. He didn't ask money yet, most likely because, Fortunately a Lot of Members started shouting wolf ! Thank you all the people who remember Sadaawi. I am guessing, that otherwise he was planning to make a few quick bucks off a campaign for a RAW hack and some NX1 sales (the Sale for the 31st could have been a Pilot Project with a pushing back of dates, to accomodate a few more sales, sharing more random JPEGs as DNGs). I wish there was someone from Interpol on EOSHD. He would help bring in a lot of (in)famous people from across various countries. There are many ways of improving most pics in post. Also the difference in this case seems minor, at best.
-
There are way too many strange things. This photo just happens to be one of them. The ships could be in this particular formation during certain times of the day, but the construction crane(s), vehicles at traffic signals etc etc are just a complete giveaway. For someone who is apparently, ahem, struggling with his English, and his early years, his command over language is way more impressive than almost all native english speaking members here. I noticed this in so many posts of his. It couldn't possibly be google translate. I doubt it is that eloquent. I guess this keeps getting more exciting. Almost out of an Agatha Christie Novel.
-
Has anyone actually met @Arikhan in person, or have you only chatted with him in private message chats? Why does he remind me of that honest multi-generation genius named Ebrahim Saadawi, who graced this community with his frequest posts, not so long ago.

Nice idea. Start small. Limit sublissions to like 20 short films initially. And the shorter the films the better (I went to a short film festival recently, where films were upto 30 mins long, and some were very difficult to watch). Get some alcohol company on board (it could be your local brewery) or some food guysè. So that for the submission fee, you get a free pint Free, along with the ticket. People always want freebies. And for non film audiences, shorts are initially a little difficult to sell. I used to attend a large film festival almost religiously and do a marathon watching like 5 films daily, for 5-6 days (I bunked all work during the festival week). I have relocated cities since, but TBO after the festival got all political and stopped giving early bird discounts and discounts to filmmakers I stopped attending. Also, their fee like doubled. I felt they were just mismanaging or scaming people after I discovered how much funding they were getting. I guess the most important thing for a festival is to connect with the audience.
-
Fair enough, I guess. Let's wait another 10 days to find out.
-
I obviously missed the 1st April deadline. I guess the fact that it co-incides with April Fool's Day makes it more intriguing.
-
I guess You're Right. Magic Lantern had a large team of developers who didn't unearth RAW already hiding within the features or capabilities of a camera (ala how Cinelike V and D were unearth on the GX85/80). They created RAW specifically, from the ground up. While the NX1 could be hacked into shooting all sorts of codecs, it would require some seriously intensive work, by a large group, not by some guy who randomly read a reference interview of a Samsung official who outlined the capabilities of the sensor and processor. I don't doubt for a second that a hacked NX1 would be wayyyy more capable than the 5D Mark iii with Magic Lantern. What I doubt is, whether someone in this thread has already done it. This was, therefore, a damp squib. R.I.P.

From the same (Imaging Resource) interview shared above: "DE: The video streaming through HDMI port, is that 4:2:2 on everything? JK: It's 4:2:2 out the HDMI 1.4 port; it's 4:2:0 as it goes to the SD. And it's H.265 to the card for both HD and 4K, so whatever video mode you're saving to SD card, it's using H.265, so you're going to get much more efficient and better-quality HD out of it." I am guessing it's a spftware limitation since it does write RAW photos to card.

I am guessing the difference in HLG may be much less. You either expose for the highlights OR the shadows. Also the colour isn't as flat as Log. It is therefore much closer to non-log profiles.
-
Hahaha. I never get the obvious. Maybe it helps that I didn't read any reviews that said that there any issues with photo and video. I wonder if they could do a 200mbps 4-2-2 8-bit codec too. I am guessing this could handle it internally. And if these cameras were tested in the desert, I am sure heat may not be an issue.
-
I was unable to see it. Was it perhaps due to the camera units being review units? To prevent then from being stolen (either the cameras or the videos) perhaps?
