I think Olympus makes some seriously amazing lenses. I would love to see Panasonic make some super fast zooms (f2.0 or faster). I see no reason why they shouldn't be developing super fast zooms. I love primes, but it's a nuisance changing lenses on the field. How about an f2 set (12-40mm and 35-110mm equivalent) and an f2.8 12-80mm equivalent.

I watched this and a few other reviews of the Kinnefinity Terra 4k camera and all seem to suggest excellent low light, due to the dual iso mode (which incidently sets in automatically). I am suddenly wondering why doesn't Blackmagic pop one of these sensors into the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera for version 2.0, and improve the low light (along with battery life, sound preamps and get a decent articulating screen). The sensor size is on the lines of the JVC GY-LS300 (not identical though). Even if it prices the camera at $1500-$2000, it will be a runaway success.

I thought the Dynamic Range was substantially improved after the firmware update. I remember reading the Exynos 9810 specs to be a 24MP for Rear and Front Cameras (down from 28MP in the Exynos 8895). I am sure the exact camera specs can eadily be changed with a minor ISP refit. Also, everyone knows the Exynos 9810 can do both 10-bit video and high frame rate 4k. If even 75% of this rumour is true, Samsung is going to be back in the race. Like someone mentioned in 43rumors.com, Samsung should just buy out Nikon, and leverage that for a long term goal.

The GH5s and the JVC GY-LS300CH seem to have highlighted 2 fundamental facts about the M43 system. 1. That the sensor size is small, whereas tbe mount isn't much smaller than Super35 size. 2. The design of M43 sensors could be larger, especially if they do not have IBIS (such as in the GH5s). Also, since video requires wide aspect ratios such as 16:9, the area around the sensor could be extended to cover a larger sensor (like Super 35 for example), much closer to the electronic contact points on the camera. I am suddenly wondering whether Panasonic should have fit a Super35 sizes sensor into the GH5s, like the one fit into the JVC GY-LS300CH which has a M43 mount, since the chances of people using it for photos would be much less? That could have provided significantly more pixels that mattered, and a noticeably larger sensor than M43. Also, since there isn't any IBIS, the larger sensor could have translated into even larger pixels.

Apparently the Mavic Air also doesn't have the D-Log. It Only has the D-Cinelike. I hope they Correct that with a Firmware. The Lesser Lowlight capabilites due to the Slower Aperture and the Higher Bitrate on the Air, could seriously use a Log profile. IMHO

They actually lowered the lens brightness from f2.2 on the Mavic Pro to f2.8 on the Mavic air. So it gets 3/4th of a stop less light that the Mavic Pro (I hope those are the correct figures). The slightly under-exposed videos were mildly apparent. Apart from that, it seems way better than the Mavic Pro and the Spark, for the buck. I know people have relaced the broken Mavic Pro lens, which has requires a little effort because 2 screws and one electrical connection point are involved. I wonder if the Mavic Pro lens could be fitted on the Mavic Air.

That one's actually a regurgitated Hubsan X4 at about 3 or 4 times the price with a 720p camera. Btw some Chinese guy hacked the camera on the Hubsan and changed it with a much higher res model. And i think the module was available ovet the shelf for like $10 or $20.

Hahaha. Not sure what the record quality on tjat would be. Or the minutes of flight. How about a drone that does what the Fraudulent/ Scam Lily Drone promised. Doing underwater and in the sky, without changing anything. That would be a first. And like a 1 hour flight time.

I saw this too. It's almost like anyone says the word Drone anywhere in the world, and DJI introduces a new camera. Andrew Reid could you Please create a New Thread/ Article on the 3 Drones we want DJI to make, at 3 Price Points (maybe at $999, $1999, $2999) with Features outlined for Each Price point. We could maybe have a discussion on it and take it forward. They could include the 1/2.3" sensor with like 100mbps H.265 codec, a 1" sensor drone and another higher lineup. Btw the Tagline "Adventure Unfolds" perhaps hints at some kind of sports featured drone?

After reading the many reviews online, these few questions popped in my head: 1. Could Panasonic have changed the dual iSO settings from ISO400 and ISO800 to ISO800 and ISO5000 instead? What about an even higher ISO setting like ISO12800? 2. I think the whole 14 stops of dynamic range is most likely bad communication of the information regarding "2 Stops more Dynamic Range" (from usable ISO3200 to ISO12800) and interpreting it to mean from 12 stops to 14 stops. But the curious question, therefore, is, how is Sony able to extract 1-2 stops more dynamic range in their 8-bit video with much lower bitrate. Also, does the much slower read speed (indicated by the enormous rolling shutter) help with creating better dynamic range? If it is, could Panasonic use the same technology, thereby losing some rolling shutter advantage for more dynamic range.

Except for these guys, I couldn't any other mention of a 1inch Autel Evo Drone. Not even on their website. Also they seem to be fiddling around with the Mavic Pro sized Autel Evo and claiming it has a 1inch sensor and the same range and same everything else. These guys are obviously on something. I just wish it were more easily available. I am sure it could solve 99% of the world's problems. DJI doesn't only make great drones, it makes great cameras on those drones. I would actually love to see a shootout between the same sensors on different drones and ones on the DJI. I would love to see the results.

I didn't save the video, and I was unable to find it through a (5 min) Google or Youtube search. It wasn't about TC. It was that the frames and audio were starting off from a different point. The video was a few frames ahead or behind. Anyway, if I find it, I will post it.

Frame drops was an issue that Dave Dugdale said was happening with the GH5 too (or was it the GH4?). I clearly remember him saying that there was an issue with syncing due to this. The solution was pretty simple, which was a re-sync it, to check where the video started from. I saw this too yestersay. Their video was quite good. 9 frames exactly may be easy to handle, I am guessing. With a firmware.

I want to see the difference between this and the A7sii in rolling shutter. The IBIS can be replaced to some extent for low light street videography (wherein your camera and gear won't be visible enough) by using something like new Ronin-S (which btw you could make even smaller by 6-7 inches or so, by removing the lower bit and mounting on something tiny). I guess there are work arounds to the IBIS, and Panasonic just wanted to squeeze out the Mazimum Possible real estate from the sensor, to push it into and beyond Full Frane Low light territory. And they seem to have succeeded. While in 2:3 photo modes it may not be apparent, but in 16:9 video the difference in crop between the GH5 and GH5s would be very noticeable (even with the multi-aspect video preserving crop on the GH5). ["The Four Thirds sensor wastes 25% of the sensor area when cropping to video mode, and 7.4% of the image circle (diagonally). The APS-C, on the other hand, wastes only 16% of the sensor size, and 4.5% of the image circle.")]. Maybe that's thr Next Tech Development in M43. Low light and AF were the ONLY weaknesses of Panasonic IMHO, and it seems to have addressed one of those pretty well.

So it has Dual ISO, ISO800 and ISO2500, or ISO800 and ISO5000 if its for VLog. I suspect that Panasonic could have had the Dual ISO at ISO3200 and ISO12800, but they did not. Not having IBIS is a terrible omission. I could have imagined using the GH5s for handheld night street videography. Without IBIS, it would be pretty shaky. Sad. No increase in dynamic Range. I guess that was just a rumour. The GH5 is pretty decent in VLog Anyway, so that's hardly a problem.

I am NOT sure why Panasonic didn't Include IBIS. I hope there is a good reason (sensor MP count and multi-aspect 4k crop factor) for it. Otherwise they have Crippled a Superb camera for the GH5, for NO JUSTIFIABLE REASON. Why would GH5 owners be Upset, Unless they are stupid. The GH5 has DOUBLE the Photo Resolution of the GH5s. That ALONE is reason not to fret or dispair.

That TechRadar article may be a stub article. It's basically premature. This is why: "This has allowed Panasonic to improve on the maximum ISO of 25,600 on the GH5, with an ISO ceiling of 51,200 in the GH5S."

More like ISO 4000 and ISO 12800. Though I wonder if dual gain is something that may work with this sensor. I wonder who makes the sensors for the Varicam and EVA. Also, why would Higher Budget Productions require a more sensitive camera? The dual ISO is there on the Varicam possibly because good low light along with fast lenses has a different look (ala Barry Lyndon), than traditionally setting it up to make to look like this. Similarly on the EVA it is there because the EVA is for ENG and lower budget productions (as compared to the Varicam). Also, losing the IBIS may not be a great idea, if its true. I guess we'll know all the details in a few hours.

ISO 12800 on a M43. Wow !!! Interestingly the videos posted seem to be all or mostly on tripods, which supports the rumours that the GH5s gets rid of IBIS as not to eat into the GH5's customer base.
