That's what Kai said too.

So it has Dual ISO, ISO800 and ISO2500, or ISO800 and ISO5000 if its for VLog. I suspect that Panasonic could have had the Dual ISO at ISO3200 and ISO12800, but they did not. Not having IBIS is a terrible omission. I could have imagined using the GH5s for handheld night street videography. Without IBIS, it would be pretty shaky. Sad. No increase in dynamic Range. I guess that was just a rumour. The GH5 is pretty decent in VLog Anyway, so that's hardly a problem.
-
I am NOT sure why Panasonic didn't Include IBIS. I hope there is a good reason (sensor MP count and multi-aspect 4k crop factor) for it. Otherwise they have Crippled a Superb camera for the GH5, for NO JUSTIFIABLE REASON. Why would GH5 owners be Upset, Unless they are stupid. The GH5 has DOUBLE the Photo Resolution of the GH5s. That ALONE is reason not to fret or dispair.

That TechRadar article may be a stub article. It's basically premature. This is why: "This has allowed Panasonic to improve on the maximum ISO of 25,600 on the GH5, with an ISO ceiling of 51,200 in the GH5S."

Oh ok. Interesting.

More like ISO 4000 and ISO 12800. Though I wonder if dual gain is something that may work with this sensor. I wonder who makes the sensors for the Varicam and EVA. Also, why would Higher Budget Productions require a more sensitive camera? The dual ISO is there on the Varicam possibly because good low light along with fast lenses has a different look (ala Barry Lyndon), than traditionally setting it up to make to look like this. Similarly on the EVA it is there because the EVA is for ENG and lower budget productions (as compared to the Varicam). Also, losing the IBIS may not be a great idea, if its true. I guess we'll know all the details in a few hours.

Instagram embedding greatly reduces resolution and file size. Watch this on a smartphone in Landscape mode and pinch to zoom to see it in more clearly. I don't know if you could download it.

Check Neumann's video above (Instagram, where he mentions 12800 ISO).
-
ISO 12800 on a M43. Wow !!! Interestingly the videos posted seem to be all or mostly on tripods, which supports the rumours that the GH5s gets rid of IBIS as not to eat into the GH5's customer base.
-
I noticed Neumann's post is dated November 22nd. I guess it may be too quick to churn out a short film with a robot and a story in it, so quickly. Unless it's like a crazy 48hour short film competition or something. January 15th-31st seems more like the date for the release and subsequent product launch.

Does anyone have any idea, what time the Panasonic event is at?
-
It happens with most smartphone cameras since they only compensate for pitch and roll, and not for the yaw axis.

43rumors.com seem to be blowing up right now with discussions of an ISO 10,2400 limit apparently on the GH5s. Even if it were only usable upto ISO12800, that would be pretty huge. Also, apparently discussions on improvement in dynamic range too. 15th December is here and I guess we just have to watch the official announcements.

I agree. Until the S6 and S7, Samsung Cameras seemed way above the competition. Since then, they've slowed down. Samsung should consciously avoid completing with iPhones. That's usually aiming low. Except perhaps the iPhone X which had seen a huge improvement in photo and video. Though, TBO, only mildly better than the Note 8. I hope Samsung makes one version of the S9 Specifically for Professionals who use the phone for photo and video (Vloggers, Smartphone Filmmakers and people who use smartphones for photos for blogs and making content). I am also hoping for a superb new sensor (apart from improved processing) to beat the competition by a noticeable margin. Super long battery, extra long battery life and super fast file transfer (comparison with the fastest USB version would be great) would be great additions.

It's curious how any kind of tech argument in photo and video nowadays, cannot go without someone randomly mentioning the iPhone as the gold standard in everything, regardless of the apples to apples context. It's a mix of trolling and a some kind of grandiose freudian disillusion. We had a producer, on a project, once mention, how she could take better photos with her iPhone than the Canon 5D ii/iii. She was, obviously, the butt of all private jokes for the longest. We even discuss her nowadays when some other iPhone possessing cretin comes up with another ludicrous argument. I guess Apple should be thanked for their contribution to modern memes. 10bit video in smartphones may actually be amazing. And it is indeed strange how slow developments in ILCs have been, in comparison to smartphones. 10bit video does indeed sound terribly exciting.

Aaah. Thanks for pointing it out. I have been reading stuff in interludes for the longest. They should hurry up with the release. 15th December is too far.

Wow. What a superb analysis. Dude you're a detective first and filmmaker later. Luke is using an expensive lens because Panasonic most likely has a PL mount for their low light cinema GH camera, so that it does not eat into EVA's customer base. Aldo the cinema one may thus have lousy autofocus.

More like 11.3 stops. But closer to 7-8 for video and maybe 10 stops or less for usable dybamic range for photo. Which TBO is reasonable because non-HDR monitors are like 6-7 stops anyway. https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Panasonic/Lumix-DMC-GH2 The GH4 and GH5 have very similar video dybamic range. But, apparently the GH5 has more Usable Dynamic Range (less noise in the highlights and shadows, and better at grading).

I guess you're planning to have a Livestream/ Video Podcast, and take feedback on things?

Sorry, my bad: https://www.androidpit.com/in-depth-lg-v30-perfect-video-smartphone Read the portion that says, "LG’s Korean camera specialists confirmed with us that the LG V30 takes log videos specifically in 8-bit 4:2:0. Am I just about to lose you?". Yes, I noticed in many test videos online that the Dynamic Range is noticeably lesser than other flagship, and that the stabilization is also disappointing. Very disappointing indeed.
-
Incorrectly Researched Article. Seems shoddy heresay at best. I read an article, much after this somewhere, where LG Specifically CONFIRMED that the Log, like all other video is limited to 8-bit 4-2-0. I wonder why it appears so soft. Is sharpness fialled down to 0 or -5 (Log)?

We shot a short film on a Panasonic GX85 (apart from a Nikon D5200). Thw colours weren't matched in post. Not really something I would wanna share. I will share another film or episode I shot on the GX85, hopefully soon.

The iPhone WILL Do commercial (Bentley?) work because photographers and videographers are fallible and corruptible. And Apple has in a new offshore in Jersey stashed hundreds of biliions of dollars from US tax authorities, which it is willing to pay judges, photographers and videographers, and various other individuals. The V30 followed this when it had a face-off with a RED. Though the level of shamelessly is nowhere near the limit iPhone indulges in.
-
I am curious. Why haven't you guys thought of hacking Panasonic Cameras for producing better video quality, since they already seem more geared for video than Canon. Especally the Mid Range ILCs of Panasonic.

"Journalism has become so polarised. Right-wing or left-wing? 99% of the the debate happens in an extreme bubble on one side or the other." Absolutely Incorrect. 90-99% of the Main Stream Media is Left (/Libertarian) Controlled and Funded. Therefore the Majority of Right (/Conservatice) Wing Media is relegated to Alternative News Streams and/ or channels with high viewerships but very uninspiring monetary models. Also a Leftist Reporter or Documentary Filmmaker saying it was an effort was exaggerating the effort only 1000 times.
