  1. @John, I will defidefinitely keep you updated. I just hope they fix the issue properly at the earliest, and that it isn't a recurring one after it's fixed.
  2. Does the Inspire 2 have the GX8 sensor or the one on the new EMD-I Mark ii sensor?
  3. I picked up a Panasonic GX80/85 from Australia. I have really not had the time to use it much. Maybe like a week or less of actual use. Now I noticed this curious image appearing on the screen. It prevents me from recording anything. It happened from the first few times I used the camera. I initially thought it must have been something else, because it disappeared every time I switched my Camera Off and then On. But now, it is Permanent. Does anyone know why this seems to be happening. Though I am planning to send my camera to the service centre, I am curious as to What this Problem really is, and if anyone knows or has experienced it. Am a little disappointed cause I Finally got free from my other jobs to be able to shoot something, and then the other camera I have on me suddenly stops working.
  4. They should have an SD card Slot for Both the SD UH-I and UHS-II Standard, cause the UHS-II has a 280 MB card by SanDisk already. also, the 2nd slow should be an XQD standard card. thode are doing between 400 and 500MB right now, and could easily do much higher rates very soon. Also with wider acceptance, their prices could come down noticeably (they're pretty expensive right now). That way the GH5 could easily be updated by Panasonic by firmware to be improved constantly (for faster readouts needed for higher bitrate and higher photo buffer). In some ways I feel the GH4 sensor is terribly noisy at almost All ISOs except perhaps ISO 200 and ISO400. And the lowlight was really bad. Hopefully Panasonic has a usable ISO 3200 noise sensor.
  5. The Main Stream Media has become diabolic and evil. And the quality of reporting is worthy of sending reporters and channels to jail for fabrication. It is a phenomenon that isn't endemic to the US alone, in the last few years. I agree that something must be done about it. They have blown all morality to the wind.
  6. I read on Cameralabs that it doesn't have a crop while shooting video (4k). If that's true, then it's amazing how it manages that along with such low rolling shutter
  7. I was just watching this video. GoPro won't be able to sleep tonight. But in all fairness, this seems to a very genuine review. And very important.
  8. I saw quite a few comprisons between the iPhone, the S7 and the Pixel, and the difference is far more than DPReview states. Most likely because DPReview doesn't consider the OIS (I wonder whether it considers the f-stop of the lens?). Therefore it is not a very real user experience, and even technically, therefore, it may be flawed.
  9. It's difficult to reason why Google refuses to put OIS in their smartphone cameras, and have an f/1.7 lens instead of the f/2 one. Also I am very curious to know the truth about the double exposure for getting the noticeable exposure improvement. While I don't doubt that the Sony IMX378 sensor can actually read RAW at extremely high rates, allowing for superb HDR, I am guessing that Google does it in jpeg, since the processor may not be able to handle high speed RAW, along with HDR. Also, the missing OIS may limit the exposure range. Google really doesn't have any good explanation for not including the OIS (except perhaps to save on money and a few extra engineers). Also, the low light pics seem to lack details. Google's algorithm are quite exaggerated. They cannot possibly compensate for a lack of OIS.
  10. Interestingly this thread has highlighted how mich scope exists for innovation in the wireless market (as well as the wired and tiny recorder market, and why players probably need to innovate more). I really like the InstaMic concept. It seems extremely promising, and I hope version 2.0 introduces a mic-in or an even smaller form factor.
  11. TBO I didn't know much about it. I only guessed they have one, cause almost everyone has one (except the Panasonic GX85 and some others, thanks to some idiots in the Panasonic product design team).
  12. Not really. Unlike a physical shutter movement that takes places for stills, during video there is no real shutter movement and the camera captures images by sending power to the sensor for shorter bits. That is the reason for the motion artefacts of rolling shutter in (cmos) sensors that are unable to read the sensor details fast enough due to slowet sensors.
  13. Hahaha. I finally like relocated. And will probably take a month long break from my regular routine to pile up a few thousand pics and enough videos to justify the GAS. I am hoping they get a nice Flat/Log profile at some point. The video on this looks pretty impressive too.
  14. I am thinking of picking up one myself. Though I might wait a little causr I hardly get time to do photo and video work, and I have a lot of equipment I still haven't used. MaybeI shoot like crazy for the next couple of weeks to justify buying this.
  15. I saw another (promo) video of the Olympus. It seems to have excellent auto focus for video and superb IBIS (IBIS + OIS). Though Panasonic may not let it have 10-bit internal (that only the GH5 may have). After the release of the RX100v (that supposedly does 24fps with continuous autofocus), 15fps (18 electronic?) with continuous autofocus seems still decent (though not insane anymore). I am also wondering whether the Dynamic Range has been improved. Overall this seems like the best mirrorless camera for Street and Sports Photography (including ones by Sony).
  16. The sensor is pretty amazing. Though for a flagship phone, with iPhone comparable pricing, not having OIS is a bummer. It is just cost cutting and saving on time and effort.
  17. It was meant to spoof on the issue. And yes, Sony should get its head out of the ground.
  18. And if they did not Explicitly mention 'better heat dissipation', then it would share the overheating feature too
  19. Maybe it's not a touch screen. It's an Almost Touch Screen. Like the video on the A6300, where you can Almost Shoot Movies. Cause with the overheating, photos seem more safe. Maybe the A6300 is perfect for Vines. Not Filmmaking.

I also believe it will have PDAF and impressive AF in video. Just a strong gut feeling (clairvoyance, perhaps). I hope they improve the quality of their RAW on their photos. The greatest advantage Panasonic has over Sony is price and reliability. Now it needs even better sensor (atleast .5-1 stop better), PDAF, atleast 1 stop better lowlight than the G7/ GX85/ G85, and good Video Autofocus features. I should get off online camera forums. They just cause GAS. Technology doesn't make good filmmakers. Working does. Technology is inspiring and encouraging at best.
  21. It appears Sony is copying Panasonic. They have improved the shutter mechanism ("Enjoy less blur from vibration and a very quiet, durable shutter") making it have less shutter shock and more quiet, as well as the IBIS. I doubt whether the IBIS willbe able tp deliver the promised 5 stops of compensation. Also, I doubt whether they have been able to handle the heating issue. Excellent on Paper though.
  22. IMHO if we keep the video aside, for a moment, the DJI Mavic is way more advanced than the GoPro Karma, simply by the insane level of its features (travel range, speed, ability to tackle obstacles, follow users, respond to gestures for commands, sending great quality video to the controller/ smartphone, being like 1/3rd or 1/4th the size of the GoPro Karma, etc etc). These features alone push it into a different league. Then add the price difference. The GoPro throws in a removable camera, and a removable gimbal, but for a lot more (many hundred dollars more). If DJI had a removable camera module, with a built in stabilizer or a stabilizer stick, the GoPro would have been a joke. I doubt whether Anyone would have bought it. As a Drone they aren't even in the same category, atleast where features are concerned.

    GH5 Prototype

IMHO it's also better suited for Guerilla shooting. Far less conspicuous than the G7 or G85, and obviously than the GH4. And most of the tech on the G85
  24. First call them and record everything on the phone. Make sure you mention that you haven't been paid. Also say that they should finish the whole thing and that you can lower the fee, so that the matter is finally settled. Then say that you will make a 2 page contract and finish the whole thing. Write them a mail saying that since they never paid you for the work, you need not hand anything over to them and they using it would therefore be a breach. This is a Duplicate of the chat you had with them. Meet them with the 2 Page Contrast, which should Include: 1. That you are the rightful owner of the copyright, and have agreed to share some portions regarding a documentary that you are making for them; 2. They have the right to use the documentary made by you as a showreel of rheir work or for other publicity reasons. 3. That all payments have been cleared and that in no way can they alter the work done by you, without your permission, and that at all times should you be credited as the author of the work. Don't mention "work for hire", or anything similar Anywhere in the Contrast.
