I think it's terrible if their quality control is not too good. And could be worse if they don't have great customer service either.
  2. Ok. My bad. I didn't know that. I assumed the space betweenthe sensor and the mount would have been the problem. Maybe they have super thin NDs, and some versions of focal reducers work (maybe only one version). Will have to check this. But thanks for the information. Seems quite interesting. In that case, Panasonic should get a click-less electronic ND filtwr like that on the Sony FS5 ... ;-)
  3. I noticed that the Video HDR feature on the 5D Mark iv seems like some scam. In regular mode it pushes Dynamic Range in video to that of a smartphone (basically Terrible). And then has an HDR setting to bring it average/ normal levels. From the various Videos and Frame grabs I saw (online), in regular mode video seems to be about 7-8 stops, and in HDR mode maybe 8-9 stops. I dunno if it's funny or ludicrous.
  4. Panasonic is moving closer to sending Canon's 5D Cameras to the grave. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice ...
  5. True. But with a Built-in ND, I am guessing it may be difficult getting a focal reducer in the space as well. It would have absolutely the same issues as the one caused by the link I posted.

I saw this somewhere this morning too. Edelkrone really makes some amazing products. Only if they would price them a little less (30-50% less), they could rid of all the duplicates as well a huge part of the competition.
  7. IMHO high bitrate good 8-bit 4-2-2 may not seem very different from 10-bit 4-2-2. A lot of the pro Canons have it. There is already an adaptor like this that seems like a good idea, and could be used for almost any other 4/3 ILC: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1041731-REG/fotodiox_vzlx_thrtl_eos_nex_pro_vizelx_nd_throttle_adpter.html I meant the Sony K2M version too. The Yagh was a design and engineering disaster.
  8. Some of your wishlist seems like the things they need. I think even if they have 8-bit 4-2-2 internal, at 200-300mbps, it should be sufficient. Also, a Seriously Improved (3 versions actually) of the VLog. And an improved Yagh (with oomp) too is something they need to do. Maybe they can sell the ND Filter Adapter for their own and other M4/3 lenses. It will help deal with reducing minimum focus distance among other things.
  9. That is the biggest thing that Panasonic needs to work on. An APSC beating sensor. Some of their sensor seem to have better dynamic range than their Canon counterparts anyway (according to DXO Mark).
  10. I agree. The dual pixel model allows for a person to noy have to spend too much time and effort on manual focus. With the right fearure set and settings it could help get rid of a follow focus set. Like those in the photo burst mode.
  11. Thanks for all the information. Interestingly the heat issue with the A6300 is like recall issues in cars. Many cameras did not have it, and thus did not need any firmware to resolve it. Others had it and benefitted (mildly) from the firmware update. And many had absolutely no effect even with the firmware update. So Basically Sony A6300 cameras having issues with OverHeating, would depend on where you bought your camera from (and maybe even with what batch it was). 80°F is under 27°C, so it is not really that hot. But I suspect, you got one of the cameras that were 'safe', for want of a better word. Excellent Camera, very erratic quality control implementation.
  12. May I ask, at what temperature were you recording and did you cover your A6300 with a shade of some sort. " Perhaps the headline feature from the stills point of view is the Dual Pixel RAW set up, which allows you to make image adjustments even after you’ve shot them – refocusing and, even more interestingly, messing around with bokeh. Here’s Canon’s technical explanation: “Each of the EOS 5D Mark IV’s 30 million pixels is made up of two photodiodes which can be used together or individually. This technology enables the creation of Dual Pixel RAW files which contain a pair of images shot from two very slightly different points of view.” When processed with their Digital Photo Professional software, the files can be adjusted in three ways: Image Microadjustment allows the position of maximum sharpness to be adjusted; Bokeh Shift allows out-of-focus highlights to be shifted horizontally so they coincide better with in-focus elements; and ghosting reduction can be used to reduce the appearance of artefacts like flare." All this from NewsShooter.com Canon is innovating, though a lot of this may be similar to Panasonic's post focus, as well as things that could be done in Post Processing. And, may bot be something that users specifically want. Also, it makes one realise that Panasonic needs to Upscale its Post Focus, Light Composition and other features to 16MP, rather than 4k, and RAW, if possible, to get the maximum benefits out of such excellent features. 4k photos may be limitedto 4k (or 5k perhaps), if they require 30p, and if the sensor's 24 frame shot rate is at a maximum of 4k (and any higher resolution).
  13. Like I said before, a Huge part of the problem is that NOBODY knows what features they want or should be incorporated into M4/3 and most other DSLRs/ Mirror Cameras. "If all that is the case then the GH5 is going to be mega, barring any unexpected disaster like a 30MP sensor or something else stupid." If Sony can have 1inch Sensors with 20MP stills, M4/3 sensors should easily handle 27MP and above. While most things over 12MP is an over kill, for framing and re-framing etc, having more pixels to throw away is a good option. I also feel that Panasonic should have 3 different versions of VLog, and it should have dynamic range comparable with the Sony Cameras (as in, a Camera's RAW Photo Dynamic Range vs its Video Log). If the GX85 is 12.6 does Stops of Dymanic Range then its VLog should atleast manage 12.3 Stops. Also, All Pansonic ILCs should have VLog, regardless of the Range. Panasonic should Innovative more. Especially considering Sony's huge control of the Sensor Marker. That is the FIRST thing Panasonic needs to handle. Sensor issues (even Higher Dynamic Range Sensors, PDAF, BSI, highrr ISO sensors, 14-but RAW processing sensor etc). Also, Panasonic needs to Innovate in its Sound Department. They need to make a version of Sony's XLR-K2M, But, with a Lot more Oomph (ala Apple), and some kickass functionality. And shoot the designer of the Yuck Yagh, while they are at it.

    Life vs Film

Maybe you're right. Though, once the thief was mocking people he stole from, the chances of him improving his ways, became zilch. That was clue enough, that he won't return anything, without the Cops, Social Media, his family, and/or authorities in the picture.
  15. I am not sure the Rode Mic X has a built-in recorder. I tried using a Zoon H2n once, but the Zooms (and most other handheld recorders), have a lot of handling noise, as a consequence of the rumbling of their plastic bodies. This becomes more noticeable once you walk, as well as while you listen to the sound on a pair of headphones. And the lack of a shock-mount may aggravate the issue. Try the Saramonic dual recorder. It seems like a cheaper version of the one made by Shure (LensHopper VP 83f). Though they both will record dual-mono only (I could be wrong about the Saramonic). Edit: this is the link for the Mic https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01B1QO12Y/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

    Life vs Film

Some films have unresolved endings. Like 'Zodiac/ the Zodiac'.
  17. You're making it amusing. I believe that is unfair to the victims as well as encouraging an international con artist. Also this is definitely not a One Off. He is a pathological liar and fraud.
  18. That is TINY compared to the level of his existence on the Internet and his comments everywhere He is present on Almost Every Technical Camera Discuss Platform, almost All Social Media Sites (even ones people haven't even heard of), and he has posts running in the Hundreds of Thousands. Whoa !!! This guy has a serious multiple personality disorder meets. He is luke the Joker from the Dark Knight. The only two differences being that the Joker was funny, and that he was in a movie. I would not be surprised if his Scams run into Hundreds of Thousands. Maybe there be a Group created on Facebook (Twitter and Instagram among others), to figure out other people scammed by him.
  19. I could be wrong, but good, High Bitrate 8-bit, 4-2-2 does not look very different from 10-bit 4-2-2. Also, it does tolerate grading well, as can be noticed from the various Canon codecs.
  20. I bought the NTG2 about 2-3 years back, so maybe it's a little late. Also, I assumed Rode were too embarrassed to admit they did not have support for India. I could write in to them (to PluralEyes too). Maybe I could amuse them with the lateness of pursuing a promise they made. Thank you for the suggestion. My case is a one-off case, I guess. And I am sure it does not reflect on Rode's mostly excellent Customer Care and After Sales in any way.
  21. 'Against the Republicans' I meant.
  22. I went through one of the sites and Canon has copied a lot of Panasonic Features (various 4k Modes, in camera RAW edit, touch panel which they didn't want pn their weather proof cameras, anti-flicker for the GH4 etc). Is it also lighter and smaller?
