hahahahahahahaha It IS true.

Thanks for the reply Parker. I like smart people use their research skills to outdo gear limitations.

The GoPro seems to have a more Gradeable video, thanks probably to Protunes. But, the lack of stabilization is really disapointing.

3 Questions: 1. Which FetHead did you exactly purchase? A link would be useful. 2. Are you using battery or XLR power for the NTG-2 3. What is your recording set-up? I asked because this article (http://chromonaut.ch/2013/boost-zoom-h4n-recordings/) stated that the XLR may not work with the NTG2 (Maybe he was not using an External Recorder with Phantom Power). Also, there are (atleast) two versions of the FetHead: 1. Triton Audio FetHead Phantom: http://www.zenproaudio.com/triton-audio-fethead-phantom and 2. Triton Audio FetHead Thus, the questions above. Thanks

GoPro is dying. I bet my money on Xiaomi on putting the Final nail on the coffin. Considering the abyssal level of innovator at GoPro, they probably deserve it. Sad for the investors and shareholders.

Nice video. And, what's with all the Vitriolic in the Forums? Have the Admins gone on a sabbatical? Can some members be banned for a few days?

I am depressed by the lack of articles on this blog.

I am mildly offended. Andrew posted the article "After" I mentioned the Review bit (of the GX85). You could check the time for both. Or simpler still, just ask Andrew. The word is clairvoyance, not AdSense. hehehe -

Actually Andrew got busy trying to save the site from the sex toys and chinese viagra ADs. hehehe I think another review is around the corner, and I suspect its the Panasonic GX85/ 80/ 7 Mark ii. Also, I realised after Andrew mentioned, that since most people in Film and Video think of things mostly from their perspective, other could chip in, and maybe (if it sounds good to other people too), EOSHD could become a Platform for Collaborating/ Crowd Sourcing. The actors, director, cinematographer, sound guy etc could be in the same city, and the Writer, Musician etc could be in another city (or country or continent). It could be a interesting collaborative effort. What do you guys think? -
Not footballs. Those are well rounded bokeh. On the voigtlanders the bokeh's aren't very pleasing to the eyes. I am guessing its a mixture of the number of lens elements, as well as the shape of the lens aperture control ring.
-
I saw that one last night. Nice review. And, so many hidden features. I can imagine 5k Photo Modes (pre-burst, post focus etc) easily covering most photography needs.
-
Don't the bokeh on the Voigtlanders look very curious. Like very ugly teardrops.

Time to step up - Panasonic GH5 must go 6K Super 35mm to compete in 2016
sanveer replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
The GH5 is getting better, achoo, VLog, and some interesting photo modes too. Unless some 100mp thing is ur sh!t. I still can't believe they didn't include a microphone jack with the GX85/ 80/ 7 MArk ii. It's almost as bad as the castration of Theon Greyjoy. Seriously !!! And, yawn, yagh is being s@xed up too. Dats too much for a month now. I shall ... disappear ... -
I noticed that too. The speed of the website (forums page) loading is all over the place. Sometimes it's quick, and sometimes it takes very long.

Pretty impressive. Nice variety of shots, and lighting styles. Also, the outside scenes look very Terence Mallaikish. And nice camera movements too. The VFX has very strong colors. That's the only (minor) thing that could change IMHO.
-
Was the site down for a bit, a few hours ago? Cause I tried opening the site, but it showed me some error (don't remember what exactly it said).
-
Thank God I missed it. I feel very strange when I see that sh*t. Last time I thought it was some hacking attempt, instead of some spamming attempt.
-
I am also very curious to know how the GX85/80 compares to the G7. If its as good for video ans stills, it will be some seriously good camera (minus the minor shutter shock issue and the lack of stabilization found on the G7).
-
hahaha. True. But also, all sliders don't have that curved trajectory. Most of them at straight, so that's asking a lot.

I spoke about Live Cropping before, and how this is a great way of doing away with almost every kind of dolly shot (Depending upon whether it is 4k, or 5k, or 6k, and whether the final delivery is in HD or 720p). If the GH5 gets 5k, this could improve even further. Also, a lot of his shots are handheld (with Dual Stabilization of the lens and camera), and the Live Cropping still looks stellar.

Not sure how large the sensor will be in terms of real estate. Cause the smaller the sensor, the more effective the IBIS. Though some of the Stabilisation CAN be done via the sensor. But it only adds greater loads to processing and (maybe) readout speeds.
