  1. Not dual pixel. The guy in the video is amazed that he can chose focus spots from the tablet/ phablet. Also, I could be wrong, but Dual Pixel, (for video,) more than being a thing about focus pixels with each light pixel, is actually about smoother gradations. Canon handles that really well. It doesn't suddenly jump. And, obviously hunting issues are not there (or extremely mild).
  2. Hahahaha. Very likely. The mirrrorless gang (read Panasonic) has had it for years. Thus guy woke up recent. The legend of rip van winkle is a True story. hahahahahahahahahaha
  3. It has 5-axis stabilization in the body itself, plus another 2-axis from the lens (New 5-axis in-body sensor stabilizer works with LUMIX 2-axis optically stabilized lenses in video and still capture modes using class-leading Dual Image Stabilization). Source: http://shop.panasonic.com/cameras-and-camcorders/cameras/lumix-interchangeable-lens-ilc-cameras/DMC-GX85K.html The lens is usually sufficient for photos (like in the GX8 test in some site). The 5-axis will be gr8 for video (it is, like tested by people already). Also, it actually means that you should be able to use some non-Panasonic lens, with very respectable (as good) stabilization, unless Panasonic has disabled it to save battery, or their lens lineup. Btw, this is from ePhotozine.com (https://www.ephotozine.com/article/panasonic-lumix-gx80-gx85-review-29143/performance): "We tested the in-camera sensor based 5-axis image stabilisation system, by using the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens which lacks lens based image stabilisation, and we were able to take shots at 1/5th of a second and still get a sharp shot, which we were also able to match with the Olympus OM-D E-M5. The image stabilisation appears to work as well when using the continuous shooting mode as well. " I guess, now Panasonic officially matches the 5-axis stabilization of the Olympus cameras. I also hope the video stabilization WITHOUT Panasonic lenses is as good.
  4. I may be wrong, but they excluded it then, because they believed that 4k (internal) would be an issue. They obviously solved this issue, it appears.
  5. could you share the source. Also, I could not see a mic socket in the B&H pics.
  6. I guess Panasonic somewhere it trying to save it's Premium Range (the GH series) from mid range one, so it conveniently disables some features. The G7 already does far better low light than the GH4, at half the price (with a kit lens), so they had to be careful. They have added 5-axis IS and a new shutter mechanism to the list, so they removed some stuff. With an Atomos monitor you can monitor the recording on the monitor, so that should not be an issue, I guess.
  7. I am surprised, not not so many people are as excited about the Panasonic GX85. It seems to have solved two of the biggest issues with Panasonic cameras, namely shutter shock and in-camera stabilization. It will obviously move all these, and add a lot more to the GH5. But, for the $797.95 price tag, for the camera AND the lens, it's a superb deal. Atleast it doesn't overheat like crazy and become unusable well before 30 mins of continuous use, have terrible rolling shutter, and some curious color science. Though the lack of headphone jack is really a bummer. Panasonic would at best have saved $3 per camera. Like seriously???
  8. Absolutely. This is So much more camera for $800 than almost everything else in the market. The only thing they didn't really include is a mic jack (apparently), which is bad, but then one can always use a mic like the Shure LensHopper VP 83af or something. Apart from that it seems very good for the price.
  9. It seems to be. And it has a plethora of interesting features. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/panasonic-gx85/panasonic-gx85A.HTM
  10. I saw this a few hours ago and I dismissed it as part of the 1st April charade. But, Wow. This looks Damn promising. If this is as effective as advertised, then small budget indie filmmakers can throw away their stabilizers, and go even more compact for guerilla shooting. I wish Panny would have a Paid VLog for All Interchangeable Cameras. Also, they should Atleast try and fit a ProRes flavor into it, somehow. The lowest 2 ProRes flavors aren't really that large in terms of file sizes. Maybe users can pay something similar to the VLog to get ProRes. Panny should atleast offer that option, like $99 each Extra.
  11. EVERYONE here. Organisations like change.org and ipetitions.com and what not else are just useless fraud organisations that most likely share your personal details for money and then indirectly spam you for life. I had an issue withan organisation once, and I trolled the CEO on Twitter (apart from giving them mouthfuls on FB andmany othwr places), and the matter got resolved at lightening speed. I believe the ONLY way to get back the NX Cameras is to Suggest to Samsung to FIX whatever minor issue are there with the Camera (Including having an H.264 option) and get a ProRes version, and let it return as NX2. If we createa Huge FB and Twitter presence, Samsung will Definitely doa Re-Think. If push comes to Shove, we could make videos of Destroying Samsung Handsets and Products, and have a #Boycott_Samsung_until_they_Reintroduce_NX1 Page. Hehehe. Those always work better. Hahaha
  12. I think it's High Time someone gave some Competition to Black Magic. They have very interesting products, especially their BMCC. I would like some other people to make versions of that. All under 1k and with RAW and ProRes. And hopefully, ones that deliver within a year from announcement.
  13. That Canon 7D Mark iii is pure April Fool Bullsh*t. I think Panasonic will announce a few cameras. Most likely an upgrade to the LX100 and some other smaller camera.
  14. IMHO, Google Cardboard, more than Anyone Else, and Everyone Else, put together, will help sell VR Headsets, gaming, movies and videos etc etc. Dunno how successful it will be, but obviously more than 3D, which had a lot less market penetration, due to obvious reasons. Though, it might not really compete with regular movies and video, cause you can't do anything else, while you have that headset on your eyes. It kills multi-tasking.
  15. Excellent video Mark. Btw, you can't debate with him. He's a closed minded and seriously into monologues.
  16. Wow!!! What does it even mean??? Anyway, the S6 could improve in low light, focus faster and could do with a High Speed Video mode, and that's why the S7. We're talking in Parallels. If you take a few mins to actually read Both our posts (yours and mine), maybe you'll realize it. Or maybe you've into monologues, and thole stream of posts is pure soliloquy.
  17. This is another test. http://www.androidcentral.com/camera-showdown-s7-vs-6s-vs-6p-vs-950 I have seen most of the GSMarena's reviews of the Samsung S7. Maybe your should read it too (FYI, they say, "Still, the Galaxy S7 edge snaps the best pictures we've seen from a smartphone camera to date and with the return of the water-protection, it's an excellent portable camera for any trip." http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_edge-review-1409p9.php And, since you dismiss everything and everyone else, why don't you Publish YOUR OWN Comparisons, and share them with everyone less enlightened that you. Are you serious???
  18. I am not sure what you were attempting to articulate, but there are No GODS in the field of anything. Everyone who tests cameras has millions of self-appointed critics, and other testers who dish those tests. And, there is nothing wrong with any group. There are As Many people who believe that the Samsung phones rule the charts, as there are people who do for every other smartphone camera, and many more. That's why on many forums and sites, Samsung phone top charts.
  19. Nokia was way ahead of it's time, a long time back. Then it stopped innovating fast enough, had a terrible management team, and then looked like it had some multi-billion dollars in scams (which should have been investigated IMHO), and then they just simply lost the plot. Till the N series, they were fine, I guess. Their quality control seems abyssal (the author of this post pointed out in his blog, that way too many Lumias with lousy lenses have made it through him), and basically not listening to customers. The Management is STILL Old School. Microsoft should have Thrown Out all the ENTIRE Management from all previous teams. But, I guess they didn't, and we are left with whatever remains. It's like the Panasonic CM1. ONLY if they added OIS and FLAT 4k @ 24, 25 and 30p (and lowered its price). It would have been a runaway success, regardless of its other shortcomings. The Nokias have had some great features for a very long time. And TBO honest, they were pretty good at photography, and arguably had RAW before almost anyone else. Also, their Zeiss association seems to have paid off well in their optical scince bit. For most people Samsung and LG are the standard for Video and Photos. And then the iPhones. Not sure if the Lumias are really relevant anymore.
  20. Soft video. Also, Lumias are a dying breed. Nobody wants to be on a smartphone that has no future. Apparently a lot of the buggy issues were being solved not so long ago: http://www.technobuffalo.com/2015/12/23/lumia-950-and-lumia-950-xl-update-fixes-tons-of-bugs/
  21. Not sure if its sensor thing, but handling heat properly seems to be a trick, not everyone can perform. After moving to smaller form factors, with smaller lenses, and great video controls at very affordable prices, a lot of people would rather spend the money on Accessories (all sorts of mics, lighting, rigs and stabilizers, etc etc) and maybe even in P&A. Or better still, pick up 2 cameras, one as backup, or 2 used simultaneously to speed up video, especially for things like dialogue, or where you need a B-roll during a guerrilla shoot. The whole democratization brought about by the Mirrorless revolution is as much about form factor (and weight), as its about affordability. Also, apparently, the D5 is more about speed and low light, than dynamic range (and a few other things, I guess). http://***URL removed***/news/9402203921/nikon-d5-shows-drop-in-dynamic-range

    Sony RX10 III

It's like Double the Price of the Panasonic FZ1000. Not sure if its twice as good.
  23. The Samsung gear 360 camera seems to be a well implemented camera. I just hope it's priced well.
  24. TBO I have a gut feeling that more than Canon, Black Magic Designs may have some interesting products. That's why they were in a hurry to start shipping the 4.6 and micro with or without all the promised features. And regarless of whether BMD finally ships the product in 2017, 2018 or 2019, it will be an exciting product. ?
  25. Hi, a friend of mine wants to pick up electronics (Panasonic Mirrorless and Lenses) from France (Paris). Does anyone know the best store for good deals on electronics? What is the best Online or PhysicalStore to pick it up from? Thanks in advance.
