  1. Long ago they had posted screen shots from a 5k Red Camera and the image was way too sharp and no grain had been added. I could literally see the hair on the nose of the actress. Me being me, I pointed it out. They obviously deleted the post and blocked me. Hahaha
  2. You did not understand why I said different Flat Profiles. They are Actually Quite Flat (compared to the stock camera settings), and I have posted a Screen Shot of the App from the App Store where various Levels of Flat Profile exist. Btw most videos posted online have been graded so you may not be able yo notice the Flat profiles. Also, people who Do Not have the Samsung S6 and the Note 5 may not be able to shoot flat profiles at all.
  3. If this monster did 120MP at 24p at RAW instead of 5fps in jpegs, it would sound the death knell for all other cameras. I guess the new C300 will compete with the REDs and maybe even the Alexas.
  4. Canon just keeps announcing random grossly overdone camera technologies. 4 million ISO, and then this. And then everyone is kept in the dark for the next 10 years over what the footage actually looks like, because NASA is using this for indulging in voyeurism wrt to spying on alients making love on Pluto. I think Canon should concentrate on making cameras to compete with the G7, the GH4, the LX100 etc etc instead of all.
  5. It doesn't work on all (actually most) phones. I am guessing that Samsung S6 and Note 5 seem to be the best phone for this App. Other have all sorts of strange glitches with it.
  6. I noticed that the App worka best onSamsung Galaxy S6 (and Edge) and probably the Note 5. I saw quite a few online videos including on the One Plus Two. It works on a lot of phones, has hiccups on the LGs, but on the Samsung's it really seems to be nailing it. I also noticed that there are Intensity Levels in Flat Profile and various settings too. I am actually Very Curious to know how much the footage can be pushed and whether at High Flat Profiles it competes with the SLog or VLog even marginally. The more I learn about this, the more I am fascinated.
  7. Most likely it wil never make it to commercial production. Though, I can imaging the Cohen brothers going absolutely nuts with the posibility of their perpetual zooms (ala 'Burn After Reading'), when the final shots zooms into a flea on a guy's nose. Hehehe Or a Ridley Scott 'Body of Lies' kindda film with Sattelite photo effect. Otherwise mostly useless for films I guess. Also, I am a little suspicious about the Processing Power of this Camera (a mini super computer to rival some of the planet's Best, I am guessing). Till they let people use it, it will just be a very suspicious piece of technology.
  8. Could you please provide a comprehensive list of mobile phones that support the 4K Cinema App. Also, could you try and increase the list if possible. It would be great to pick up a few mobile devices and maybe actually use them for a little project. Thanks in advance.

    GH4 V-Log $99

I saw the 3 models this year, and they all appear to be very good. As with most things, BlackMagic has a huge price advantage, which should, hopefully, play in their favour.

    GH4 V-Log $99

Th BlackMagic video assist is pretty neat. I hope they add a few hundred to the price and do a 4k version of it too.
  11. Thanks for posting this. These laptops have some serious Desktop specs. I am guessing they will be superb for editing.

    GH4 V-Log $99

I personally believe that very large exteral recorders defeat the purpose of compact cameras. I hope that they bring out a 4k Ninja Star.

    GH4 V-Log $99

Could you point out during which sections of the video? There are strange window and mirror reflections in the video too. Do you think you may have confused those with the noise perhaps?

    GH4 V-Log $99

Even though it isn't hailed as a great stills cameras, GH4 shoots some great stills as well, and therefore is a hybrid in every sense of the word. One doesn't need a Medium Format Camera to shoot film stills. 16 MP is more than sufficient for that purpose.
  15. You are doing some great work. Respect..
  16. I don't know why, but I feel it is not the sensor size that may be the issue. Atleast not for video (everything else being similar). Also for stills, the Nokia Pureview was insane with downsized filed comparable with DSLRs (in stills). I know this is Pure cheeky, but I feel a Log Profile will nail it completely. I know Sony (and I am sure the other guys too) Sensors have Raw capabilities and one of the Sony sensors does full res at 30p (at God know what bitrate). I wonder if such a sensor can be made to do 10-bit or 8-bit 4-2-2 kindda vlog video? If it can, then I imagine a lot of DSLRs and point and shoot never really leaving the house. ;-)
  17. I wonder what the difference between Mobile Phone Cameras and DSLRs will be in terms of quality, once they run similar bitrates, have similar processing power and have similar codecs. I feel apps like this on the right phones can seriously narrow down the gap. And maybe the answer will very surprising considering how much smaller mobile phone sensors are.

    GH4 V-Log $99

I couldn't agree more. The difference between the 550D and 5D mark ii in video quality is negligible (except low light, obviously), and yet the price difference was huge. The 550D has the advantage of being much lighter and hence easier to carry around. Somewhere I think Panasonic did it's best to cripple the GM line, wherein the GM1 appeared very promising in low light, and so the GM5 could have been designed as a great low light as well as 4k shooter, with features similar to the GH4 (actually the G7), but with obviously poor battery life and no headphone monitoring. The form factor itself could have helped sell a lot of those. But Panasonic stunted the video features in that line.
  19. I feel it lacks detail. The A7S still seems to be so much better. And the difference between a $2500 vs $30000 camera should be Noticeably More Substantial. Here, my vote actually goes to Sony. The screenshots actually make the Canon look like 720p instead of 1080p.
  20. I noticed some screen grabs from the Canon 4 milliom ISO camera at ISO 36000 and 51000, and from the looks of things the A7S seems to be a good competitor for now. http://www.fdtimes.com/2015/07/30/canon-4-million-iso-full-frame-video/ http://www.fdtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Moab-Night-36.2K_ISO.png http://www.filmanddigitaltimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/NYC-Night-51.2K_ISO.png
  21. Wow. Matt, that's a first for eoshd. That's the Official First Wager here ... ;-)
  22. Nokker if you are the developer of this great app, could you please tell me all themobil devices compatible with this app. I was unable to find it on the app info. Thanks in advance.
  23. I have a note 3. It says the device is not compatible. I wonder what all decide it is compatible with.
  24. I checked, checked, and checked again one last time. I think it is not available in India. Am heartbroken. Hahaha
  25. Hahaha, he's hilarious. He apparently attempted it on IndiGogo too and it failed there as well. And therefore he left this video on Kickstarter:
