1. Bruno, thanks for this advice. My main gripe with the RX100 is trying to do 24p with the NTSC version.  Neither 30p nor 60p cleanly converts to 24p (at regular speed, not slow-mo).  It always has that weird, skipped-frame look.     I've used Optical Flow rate conforming in FCP X to some success, but it's never been perfect.   I understand you're in a PAL region and are shooting 25p, but if anyone has any advice on getting non-jerky 24p out of this cam I'd appreciate the help.
2. Awesome, I've never thought about camera moves like that. Will incorporate the advice into future shoots. Thanks!
3. Thanks! Yeah, this was all me.  I held the camera at arm's length for the self-shots, then set it on the ground or a fencepost or whatever I could find for the rest.
4.   Awesome, I was just about to ask which stabilizers would work best with the RX100.  I'll give one of these a try. Thanks!
5. The goal here was to use the Sony RX100's Active Image Stabilization + the plugin Lock & Load to get steadicam-like fluid walking shots without too much CMOS jello wobble or digital zooming on the image. You be the judge...   http://vimeo.com/57910477
6. Please update us on the absolute latest with this technology. This a total game changer and is exactly the kind of development I've been waiting years to see.
7. Thanks! It was an awesome weekend.
8. https://vimeo.com/56781551   This nightlife events company flew me to Vegas and let me shoot whatever I wanted for a promotional video for them.   Had a pretty awesome weekend and just filmed everything as it developed.
9. Yeah GH2 just has a better image than the Rx100, much as I love that camera.  I used just the 20mm pancake, wide open at f/1.7.
10. Just for the hell of it, filmed myself running in the Texas countryside and put it to a Johnny Cash song.   http://vimeo.com/56426354
11. Wow, I'm really impressed by all the work you put into this. It's just a matter of time before 12-bit RAW becomes as popular a look as full-frame did a few years ago, and prosumers will be clamoring for more camera options. I also hope we see new super-fast and compact lenses developed to take advantage of the crop factor of the BMCC. It would be great to have a kit of smaller, lighter primes and zooms that only cover the 2.3x crop sensor. Hopefully those lenses could be a bit cheaper as well. Think it would be possible to adapt C-mount lenses for this task?
12.
That was awesome! I love slow motion. I could watch it for hours. I really looks like you lead a fun life. ;-)
Thank you! I do have a lot of fun, and this cam makes it easy to document things with lots of creative options.
13. Good to know, thanks. I think a squaretrade warranty is in order then, because I intend to abuse this camera quite a bit. :-)
14. Thanks for the advice. I'll avoid that for sure.
15.
This video here mentions he had problems with overheating every 15 minutes or so. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I really do need the 30 minute record time, as I was planning on buying one of these as a B-cam for some wedding footage
I've shot up to the 29-minute limit with mine at room temperature, and while the overheating indicator started flashing at around 11 minutes (like with the NEX-5n), it never actually forced me to stop recording. So while I'm sure overheating can become a problem, it hasn't stopped me yet.
16. I've been shooting with the RX100 for a couple weeks and would like to submit a few of my samples here: Lowlight footage: Using the RX100 as a handheld "steadicam": Chronicling the Hollywood nightlife with RX100:
17. Just bought a Sony RX100 (two, actually) and have been trying them out in challenging environments. Here's a quick vid that takes a poetic look at the Hollywood party scene.
18. This trip cost me a GoPro. I didn't have an underwater housing and thought it could survive a couple splashes...nope. Luckily the footage survived.Awesome trip, though. We rented a Catamaran and circled the island, which is surprisingly barren outside the town of Avalon. It's about a 4 hr journey from Long Beach by boat. http://vimeo.com/47936990
19.
How bout IBIS? It would be amazing if the camera offered sensor-shift stabilization with little or no crop factor.

Good point, that would be great on legacy M42 adapted lenses if it worked with non-Sony stuff like the Olympus IBIS does. I am sure we will see IBIS as Alpha lenses don't have optical image stabilisation as standard.
My only concern would be if they go for the electronic stabilization used in other Alpha cameras to reduce overheating. That 2x crop factor on APS-C sucks; it would probably be a .5x crop on full-frame.
20. I think we'll get 1080/60fps but don't know about 4-2-2. My guess is it will compress like the FS100 to 4-2-0 at 24 and 28mbps, but it will probably offer clean HDMI out for external recording.

22. Filmed my weekend in Catalina from the eyes of a teacup Yorkie. https://vimeo.com/47111626
23. Cool shots!  Interesting use of timelapse.
24. Just manually turned the focus ring on the Panasonic 20mm pancake. I'm still learning how to pull focus on that thing - tricky when using the built-in LCD screen, especially while filming myself.
