  1. We're sorry that you weren't satisfied with your viewing experience. Please contact the manager for a full refund.
  2. Regarding noise between the Canon C100 and the 5D Mark III (shooting raw), I did a body-cap ISO test with both of these cameras recently, and applied the exact same curves to both (to make the noise more visible. To really see them properly, you'll want to download the originals:
  3. Stellar work! This was the creepiest film that I have seen in a while, and I think that it would be for anyone with an imagination. Acting was great and sound design was superb. You should be very proud of this! How did you accomplish the slow push into the tape recorder? Motorized slider?
  4. I'm not sure about the Mark II, but I always use Data Import Utility to import files from my Mark I. If I don't, sometimes I will have a small interruption between longer clips that span multiple files. Data Import Utility combines these spanned clips into single files. This may have been corrected in later versions of Premiere but I still do it out of habit, and I try to avoid working with spanned files whenever possible.
  5. That's really funny. Great work. Don't break it to C. Suizo but he kind of looks like Aaron Rogers.

  7. It remains to be seen whether the BMD Video Assist supports pulldown removal like the Ninja Blade, which may be an important consideration for some (i.e. C100 shooters).
  8. Here's Dan Chung's take on it: http://www.newsshooter.com/2015/09/10/steadxp-kickstarter-launched-next-generation-image-stabilisation-unleashed/
  9. I still don't get how the stabilized frames aren't incredibly blurry but to my eye, they aren't. If this works as advertised it will be incredibly useful. I backed it.

  15. Here's a test that I did with a similar (the same?) combination:
  16. We had a similar discussion about this last year with some examples posted: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/6657-camera-cadencemotion/ Other than a camera being free of distracting artifacts/moire, motion cadence is the most important characteristic of a camera for me as well. What is frustrating is that not everyone can see it (kind of like watching footage from certain digital projectors has been known to make a select few people feel nauseous; I am one of these people), and this seems to turn most discussions on the topic into a "believers" versus "non-believers" debate, with a lot of people making claims that "it's because of THIS", "no, it's because of THIS", "no, you're wrong"... etc. I've heard many possible explanations for pleasing motion, and I am not sold on any of them as THE answer just yet. I'm happy to call it "magic" for now and I'm more interested in discovering new contenders that deliver excellent motion cadence. What affordable cameras do pleasing motion cadence? Perhaps there is something already on the market that we have overlooked. Anyway, in the sub-$10K category, the D16 looks the best to me. Digital Bolex have picked up on what people are saying about the superb cadence of their camera, and they have been using it as a selling point:
  17. UPDATE: I - $150 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) - Sale pending. II - $125 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) III - $75 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) IV - $25 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) - Sold. V - $25 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.)
  18. It's not razor sharp by any means, but that's why I like these lenses. Mine looks great at f/4.
  19. I'm always excited about new sensor tech. But this was the best looking demo footage that they could offer? It looks like they had an actual crew there. Where is that footage?
  20. Here is some footage that I shot with a 16mm Bell & Howell anamorphic just like the ones on offer here:
  21. I use a Vid-Atlantic Basic clamp. I'm sure that the Redstan clamps would work too if you get the right one; the Vid-Atlanic is just what I had on hand. You'll also need a front filter clamp since the threading pitch is not of a photographic standard.
  22. Thanks, Rich. My unit functions so well -- it effectively ended my anamorphic search that had spanned over a dozen or so different lenses, and the B&H is now the only anamorphic lens that I own. I'm definitely hanging on to it!
  23. Price drop: I - $150 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) II - $125 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) III - $75 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) IV - $25 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) V - $25 (includes shipping in the continental U.S.) This is significantly below what you'll pay on eBay (where you will probably not find any test footage either), and the most cost-effective path to single-focus anamorphic. If you already have an electronic or wireless follow focus system, you could order a seamless focus gear from Sean McCurry (http://www.ebay.com/usr/helicoptersean) for faster focus pulls. Prices are firm.
