I second this. Extremely happy with my 28mm 2.8 AIS. Razor sharp throughout. Got mine for about $150 mint condition. Bargain imo.

I bought a GH4 from them recently and got it delivered to Norway fast. No problem. Ask for Dale. Have bought from them in the past as well.

I think it is fantastic! I also think the use of a cheap stabilizer/steadycam adds tremendously to the final cut, a very cheap way to up the production value and IMO superior to a slider (due to overuse of sliders).

Love it! No idea what camera but since I own a GH4 I hope it's that.

Panasonic GH4 user films, tests, reviews and opinions
elkanah77 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I agree that some of the shots' focus isn't optimal. Like I say in the description everything is shot "blind" with only the focus peaking to guide my focusing. Since I havn't had that before it took some experimenting and only in post did I see what was working and what didn't. As for the NR I guess I as much as everyone else is still in the process of experimenting with different settings. I find that I really like the "noise structure" that I get leaving NR at 0 in the Cinelike D when capturing in 4k and cropping it down to 1080p. I think it leaves some camera-noise that mimics filmgrain. Thats also the reason I don't use Neat in this video because I want the look it has now. Thats the look of this video but not necessary the next one. It's an interesting camera no doubt! Cheers :-) -

While testing focus peaking I shot this with Cinelike D and used settings I find I like very much. Contrary to quite a few I left NR at 0. All other settings are in the description. -
Christina: I'm pretty sold on it. As I've decided on getting the 5d now I'd like to get some crazy good primes with it. Going to get a couple of zooms as well. I've seen some images/videos shot with it and it looks fantastic! Thanks!

As I've decided on the 5d mk3 for shooting Raw does anyone here have any experience with the Canon 85mm 1.2 II USM? From what I can see this is a DOF monster, creamy and good. Overkill? Whats the cheaper alternative? The 1.8 scores well and it's much cheaper. Thanks.

Thanks guys. Appreciated. After some thought I've decided on the 5d. It seems the BMPCC has some issues that would drive me nuts in the long run. Not to be able to erase card in camera and battery capacity is one of them. Any ideas for a very good all-round IS lens?

I can of course get both although I'm not filthy rich if thats what it seems. :-) I'd still like to get just one and stick with it.

Hi, With money no issue, what would you recommend between a Canon 5d mkiii with ML vs. a BlackMagic Pocket option? I'm only considering these two options because I want to shoot RAW. Pictures of no interest. It's for my own personal use, not clients. Mainly shoot "moods" or the occasional music video to showcase my own songs. I already have the GH4 and I'm not very keen on the Sony's so please keep that out of it. No offence. :-) I have both m43 lenses as well as some very good Nikon FF lenses. Ergonomics might be an issue. I have read all kinds of threads so I'm prepared but thought someone might chip in some pointers just before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

Happens alot shooting pictures burst mode for me. have the Sandisk 64gb 95MB/s U1. Not with lower spec'd 45MBs strangelu enough. Not experienced hang ups shooting 4K video at all. Use the 45MB card for 4K as well, no problems.

Had a go with my newly aquired GH4 today. Took a short trip to local cemetery in bleeding harsh noon sunlight. Everything shot with the Nikkor 28mm 2.8 Ai-s and ND. Shot in 4K and cropped to 2K in AE. Graded with a lut only. Used James Millers settings with minor adjustments. Aspect set to 1:2.40 for the infamous "movie/film-aspect ratio". Sorry for only still images taken from the edit. Have not been able to render out yet, but wanted to share what I consider a fantastic value-for-money camera. I think it captures wonderful images I can't wait to explore it more.

Is anyone here using the Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2 ASPH Power OIS Lens from Panasonic? I'm mighty tempted from the images I see and with the IS as a big plus. The price however is NOT a big plus. Plan to use it on the GH4 4K and music videos. I can get several other good lenses for less the price of one of these. Tempted also by Andy's recommendation of the Nikkor 28-70mm. Is the Nocticron worth it I wonder? Anyone? Cheers.

I too have a quite slow computer for 4K, but I do it slightly different to great success so far: I have put in a SSD disk for previews. I set up Premiere with this disk for previews and import all my 4K clips into the timeline, join them together (no edit just yet) and render the whole timeline (into that SSD) so it goes green. THEN I edit with blazing speed. It's worth noting that I only use the fast color corrector and similar native PP correction tools that don't require re-rendering. When the edit is done I make adjustment layers and grade to taste. At this point the timeline turns red again and will have to render yet again to stop lag/stutters, but this workflow works very well for me at that computer. Until I started doing it like this, editing was a painful process, especially now with the GH4.

I have two trackballs. One at the left of the keyboard and one at the right. Both connected through usb, When one hand is tired I just shift to the other. I admit it can take some time to be good with both hands, and being a keyboardist certainly helped, but I think it's worth considering. I will never work any other way.

Made my own music video to showcase one of my songs. It's electronic music aka melodic dubstep. Anyhow... made this with my GH2 and GH3. All details in the description. If you like the music better alone its available online on the major streaming sites. Enjoy.

Now available! The epic 250 page EOSHD Panasonic GH3 Shooter's Guide

I bought it earlier today and just browsing through it I would say much of the information, tips, tricks and techniques described would apply to any DSLR-shooter on a large variety of cameras. A lot of good stuff here. Thanks Andrew. Merry Christmas to you. -
I liked this a lot! Very nice song and you've created the perfect mood with your grading and pacing in editing.

I use CS6 and almost always use the Sedna Q20a from Driftwood on my GH2. The files are huge with a high bitstream but they play smoothly on my editing system in full res preview. I have a GTX560ti graphics card. Intel I7 and 16 gb ram. I put the raw (not RAW raw) files on a SATA disk separatly. I also have a separate cache disk. Whats your computer specs? I too have had problems in the past due to underpowered specs.

I did it as I always do. Apply Twixtor to the clip, set the framerate correctly and precompose. Open up the precomposed clip, extend the timeline (comp settings) and apply time-remapping. In this case 2 sec, double the source. But, as I was shooting the clips at 30fps and not 60fps, I assume the choppy feeling can come from this. It's not as choppy viewed downloaded is it? Could be choppy if watched straight from Vimeo.
