Panasonic S1H review / hands-on - a true 6K full frame cinema camera
Emanuel replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
.braw all the way : ) I see a camera system like to choose a wife for serious, keeping the appearances apart : D Why a new one if you've already found the one you're looking for? -

Don't forget a light gimbal you can use much further along any other camera system to come ; ) I am all in for modularity. 4 grand in that body doesn't make justice to the alternative offer. -

Glenn, you can easily keep their small form factor to power them, very handy BTW. That dreaded Netflix approval is absolutely BS from pure nonsense expense at best. And you have this much more interesting route option rather than automated menus: -

The more I shoot with the more I fall in love. It is natural Tom mentioned P4K as camera of the year still in 2019... ; ) On the screen to be unusuable in daylight, there are easy/quick workarounds to overcome that... : -) -

Indeed. Their underestimated focus peaking is much more useful than many other features to speak openly. But believe me, battery is far to be an issue : ) Only in theory. In practice, you'll easily overcome it much easier than I'm writing this : D -

The yesteryear. P6K is a 2019 release instead : -) -

I find the later Blackmagic models much improved and mature product. My beef with Japanese way of reinventing shooting menus is the fact their designers have no absolute clue about the finest pleasure of photography. They make digital filmmaking sucks to be the norm. Too focused in electronics and automatic modes. Truly a pain. Just my personal impression though : -) Blackmagic has reinvented digital film with their superior color science to the affordable side from my own experience. I'd firmly rather recommend their cameras to anyone. -

It's true, the best camera is the one we have with. I just have the little GX85 always with me and has become the pocket one literally LOL Because I invariably end to pick up the Blackmagic... It is like that woman you can't resist her, you don't mind to do many questions why : -D S1H has many advantages, I also feel tempted to add it to my arsenal. I guess the Aussie shooting interface (love British legacy of simplicity and efficiency) and 12-bit braw has impeded that to happen : ) Reason why I tend to never be able to forget : D better to not let it at home as Dennis wrote : -) -

Funny, I don't find the Pocket cameras run-n-gun unfriendly, quite the opposite. Love the camera design and form factor. Japanese menus irritate me. Maybe because I come from film camera realm? No idea. I am a Panasonic lover anyway, just not as much as before. Exactly because of Blackmagic cameras, not to even mention their superior IQ. S1H is quite of a device per se, without the need of any comparative term no matter what. I second Glenn's opinion though: pricey, nowadays. It is what it is, folks, just sayin' : -) -

That's the price of fame, man, team work ; ) Blackmagic is what RED could have been, fortunately, for these Aussies, lot of people have moved to their ecosystem. Who knows one of these days you join the cult : -D You've already been interested on my stuff, at least, some starting point to begin with LOL We can even collaborate together, really, we never know, a few collaborations have began like that, occasionally. I'm a proud devotee on coworker networks, count on it : ) How's your narrative work? -
Posted on the anamorphic sub-forum as well in this dedicated thread available to discuss there:

I guess to each its own, I much prefer the 1.33x ratio, go figure... less radical IMO, easier to shoot and more balanced. Sold : -)
-
I'll surely add mine, just to let this community know, you won't find anything else like that... : ) I personally invite all Pocket users to not miss this open gate, my hat man (E : -)

No worries, I don't intend to add any other video on topic from reputable names as Vittorio Storaro and Lawrence Sher : D even though I obviously disagree. I think people like you don't understand the difference between 10-bit and 12-bit, reason why a few or some tend to neglect the value added for stuff such as that one the braw container brings to here. There are many people with distinct needs, of course. But that goes in both ways too. What seems boring to you, it can be found rather useful for others. However, much worse when based on senseless approved camera lists. More boring than misinformation, well, it is hard to pick up ; ) to each its own anyway, doesn't bother me at all, relax : -) -

Here's another one from same series (much more than 5 characters, I take the chance to stand corrected about those two figures and three letters to be more precise actually : ) -
I guess you won't be able to get it before you shall have to end formatting the thing... Fortunately, data is safe in good hands at least : ) Yesterday night I lived a similar trouble with material I'll still need to show to Glenn! @mercer LOL : -) Recovery software aka Easeus Wizard Technician version saved my day and a few years from past, as well some others yet to come though!
-
But have you tried with multiple recovery software? On Windows too?
-
What recovery software you've used? The results may differ.

What the lighting craftsman Vittorio Storaro, master of light and shadows, has to do with it? Since ever or just nowadays? In some other perspective more technical perhaps, as you wish, but in 5 letters to testify how the Netflix man/woman is damned ignorant: 12-bit. Here's his English ; -) -

I see you concur, I knew it, so I've written ; ) I don't think it is a quality of my broken-good-English BTW, we're not discussing linguistics over here, I even think Shakespeare would still struggle to probably make himself understood a lot of times by many of you on these contemporary boards anyway LOL : ) What the hell Vittorio Storaro has to do it? Well, English is not his native language either, light craft is though ; ) Exactly where such reputable camera approved lists don't belong ; -) As simple as that : X On The Waterboys front, this will lead a few time while yet, it's a project for a long run. I tried my luck with the band road manager Nick_Robinson a couple of years ago, three years back to be more precise. Got to succeed but vetoed a higher level above by Paul_Charles, the novelist and band's manager too. Without mention, Mike the leader himself is not entirely dedicated to other than music, poetry and common distasteful by some populism on politics : D so seems pictures don't usually tend to break too much his heart as happens with other fellows like us here. Only now we had now the chance to officially be accredited as press next to a direct personal contact with the band members since 2001 by me at least (despite the fact I am Mike's fan from minute one, that is, mid 80s of last century in my particular case). The goal is getting their green light on a doc project to pursue for next years following up the band's concerts road map to come. Even though, the idea is to have their official acknowledgement, we might pretty well end as unofficial if necessary or that would strictly depend on us. That's the way to be indie means : P Isn't content the king, after all? Or only as self-proclaimed over the forums surrendered to somewhat stupid camera lists approved anyhow by a decent smartass airhead fellow at the office...?! : -D You'll obviously be able to update such information to be available online in the future. Thanks for your interest, a reciprocal one BTW (E : -) -

To read you Glenn to mention that A-cam Netflix approval mantra is quite of amusing to say the least... LOL ; ) Pure BS, my friend, some nonsense engineering/business green light without even knowing who Vittorio Storaro is, very likely ; -) Phew, only on Internet forums we can read that and such focus, as matter of fact : -)
