  1. Some notice, others don't. Last technology is not that much prone to the issue as often as before at least. I have my TK800 for almost one year now, never occurred with me or any of other people in my family, friends and colleagues... Hope this helps to gather confidence! Don't trade realistic approach for pessimism please... connect yourself! LOL : -)
  2. As far as Optoma's (UST version) concerns, this review is worthy of an attentive reading: https://www.passionhomecinema.fr/blog/index.php/08/10/2019/test-optoma-uhz65ust-lavis-de-gregory/
  3. From these YT videos, new Xiaomi's 4K introduction seems a promising product but we're actually speaking about a different thing based on 0.47" chip: As well based on the following reports: https://www.awaqa.com/xiaomi-wemax-a300-review/ (scroll down to English version:) https://www.passionhomecinema.fr/blog/index.php/01/11/2019/test-wemax-a300-4k-lavis-de-gregory/ https://www.passionhomecinema.fr/blog/index.php/10/11/2019/test-xiaomi-wemax-a300-l1688fcf-4k-second-round-lavis-de-gregory/ https://www.avsforum.com/forum/68-digital-projectors-under-3-000-usd-msrp/3077802-xiaomi-wemax-a300-l1668fcf-4k-9000-lumens-ust.html Last but not least, Optoma with their own offer too (named CinemaX P1 for US market) : Here's some interesting info on topic: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/68-digital-projectors-under-3-000-usd-msrp/2990940-0-47-vs-0-66-dlp-chip-uhd51a-vsuhd65-i-m-not-original-author-post.html
  4. Yes, as said and here is a comparison test with another one of same range: There's also this one by DELL: Here's why I'll be ending to buy the Optoma (not my TK800 model I bought but gives a pretty much the idea of my own recent findings) : Nonetheless, Optoma's Laser Phosphor entry model compares with much higher range -- here are two distinct comparative tests with one year in-between to exactly justify the point: In any way whatsoever, on minute 7:00, faux-K shows up and testifies : ) In any case, proves how inaccurate is to say it is dead, as much as MFT is... LOL : D https://www.projectorreviews.com/the-art-of-home-theater-projectors/faux-k-is-dead-long-live-4k-capable-projectors-of-all-resolutions/
  5. Xiaomi has already one, not at Optoma level though, so far at least:
  6. I dunno... Low ANSI lumens to my taste : ) I bought this one (3000 ANSI lumens looks to me a minimum requirement): https://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-TK800.htm I am not unhappy at all but... pixel shifting is definitely cheating the parade. I got the proof today with a 4K sample, even though from h.265 @ low bitrate. I'm eager to pay from native 2.7K instead. Looks like to me more reasonable and the recent Mavic Mini has made me think about... https://www.techradar.com/reviews/optoma-uhz65-4k-laser-projector https://www.techradar.com/reviews/optoma-uhd60-projector EUR2500 + VAT for the Optoma Laser Phosphor (lamp type) https://www.digitalprojection.com/emea/laser-phosphor-vs-lamp-projectors/ https://www.christielaserphosphor.com/media/Laser_Phosphor_Technology_Overview_FAQ.pdf ...or save 1 grand in the initial purchase is the only question? Seems pretty clear to me, it's not the only premise to matter on here:
  7. Here's a 1st contribution post... Rescue of a surfer (father of the children of the Brazilian popular actress Luana Piovani) a couple of days ago in the most dangerous waves of the planet (Nazaré, Portugal).
  8. Bale forgot to grab a jacket for his head, those reviewers up there instead got them all ; -) Another interesting comparison from TVS PRO: These guys have much interesting comparative tests there, I invite everyone to take a look on their YT channel. They are even known for their upgraded factory settings such as their Theo version: https://www.tvspecialists.com/introducing-theo-z65-lite/ Here's an useful thread on topic: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/24-digital-hi-end-projectors-3-000-usd-msrp/3086184-theo-z65-upgraded-optoma-uhz65-owners-thread.html
  9. Here's also a couple of useful info on topic: https://www.projectorreviews.com/the-art-of-home-theater-projectors/fauxk-vs-4k-projectors-look-true-4k-4k-uhd-1080p-pixel-shifters/ https://www.projectorcentral.com/4k-projectors-defined.htm
  10. To each its own. I feel exactly that about all those complicated menus. A pain in the ass. That simply cuts off all my pleasure to shoot with. Blackmagic has brought me the feeling of a real film camera back. I love their approach to put the shooter in the focus of their camera design, not just another user in the digital age or ENG field. They have made digital cinema cameras instead. I come back from 35mm and 16mm realm. This really counts to me : ) IQ wise I practically am able to reproduce anything I want. Secondary today IMO : -)
  11. No other lens mount system gives you that for such affordable peanuts price ; -)
  12. So get used to P6K... Its user interface has no parallel with anything else at all : ) I am user of both systems, apples to oranges : -) Blackmagic's tool gives you back the pleasure to shoot on film again throughout the digital age.
  13. It's a zero issue, trust me, you can mark my words and the usual suspects save their hate against RED... LOL : P I speak by myself attached to my T5 1TB ; ) And FYI or all of those who may eventually have no notice yet of his presence here, Mihail @cpc the developer himself is among us in this community : -)
  14. Here's the 1st bunch of field payload tests popping up as predicted last week: And more tests with the stock camera where the 2.7K resolution seems perfectly balanced offering less crisp outcome comparing with the previous models IMHO: The less saturation the better to my eyes as well:
  15. The case is so sensitive that the thread I had opened a couple of hours ago on reduser should have beaten the record because vanished from the air right away... LOL ; -) http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?179183-RED-patents&p=1875811#post1875811
  16. Waynes, apart my non-native English, I'll try to apply for the best of my plain English : D Apple's lawyers work in this case is perfectly shitty if we discount the agreement settled. Let alone when compared with RED's legal team strictly under their own IP protection task force. That's where the whole problem resides IMO. A competent legal work would break and kill those RED RAW patents as clear as I hope these words may sound to you now ! ; -)
  17. Done: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?179183-RED-patents&p=1875811#post1875811 http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?179139-Apple-RED&p=1875812&viewfull=1#post1875812 Interesting post some other above BTW: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?179139-Apple-RED&p=1875807&viewfull=1#post1875807 : -)
