  1. Still waiting for listening the other ML EOS M shooters... Thanks for your input. One of the more interesting modes looks like the 1x3 binning 2.35:1 1504x1920. How's the situation there as far as 'framing conditions' (funny to use the expression : D) concerns? The other mode is the one used by @ZEEK, but he's here and hasn't added anything on topic... To be able to have half of the frame between left and right limits (with the upper half of the frame at least) can result in a workaround. That is, if we get used to it. Especially if we consider the price to pay ending as highest as possible resolution where we may raise and park the bar. Stretched vertically for binning modes doesn't sound so bad under the circumstances in the end. To be able of an accurate framing preview even pixelated (a trouble for focusing but we can alternate and mix both preview routes or no?) before start shooting can be a workaround for static shots, we can just fairly guess. Or where you have to put the framing borders inside (y)our head. Does AF work at least? And what about HDMI for external monitoring?
  2. RAW coupled to color depth... which requires proper bit rate ; -)
  3. yeah yeah but, seems there's no way how to properly monitoring... That is, the basics, framing. Have I misunderstood it? Please tell me so... @meudig @Brian Williams @Nikkor @Alpicat @ZEEK
  4. This ML tool reminds me when 35mm film, not only IQ and grain. Priceless. One of a kind, today. Also how to properly shoot with. Where any camera movement had to be previously planned in order to not waste film/lab fees/money. Pardon my lack of modesty now if so but, obviously, people only used to shoot video actually have no idea what does mean. - E : -)
  5. RS will always be critical for those who use their camera as a kite. Not a big issue to me. Pinkframes instead, yes, so I wonder how often they pop up? How to workaround and have them under control?
  6. Nothing against static shots... : ) As matter of fact, as purist, bothers me unmotivated camera movement to be rather straightforward here. I can't avoid to often add frequent rolleyes with the most part of footage seen today. It is what it is though : -) What about those pinkframes? Is the usable percentage of footage so bad going with high resolution pixel binning? I'd like to hear a stable setup resolution for. From your side, EOS M ML users.
  7. So no highlights or under control underexposing a bit, no pinkframes? The same using ratio presets? What's the percentage average you get with along of usable footage you are able to find in the end going on 1504x1920 1x3 binning mode? And what's the safest highest resolution for 2.35:1 continuous 24p or 25p?
  8. Yet on that difference between British and American English, I think pop culture has had a significant role to inspire editing as for instance. Also directing BTW. And new distribution channels have imposed a dominant style to hardly leave versus the fundamentals exactly as you wrote, Kye. It is a delicate balance. But a reward concomitantly. Towards a future-proof to not lose of sight a whole century of film language and semiotics in our back. Here's where Don's @webrunner5 entry fits ; ) Pardon for a bit of fake modesty from my side as well : P E : -)
  9. @kye this forum is not the same since you've landed. Kudos for your posting : ) My vote for a new mod! : -)
  10. recognise versus recognize -- I had to say no to the spell checker ; ) "it" because that's all about your style instead, not exactly addressed to you : ) Once you said you're curious on the way people see it, I wonder if you recognise yourself from that one, that's all : )) You are much more than the source. We are all entitled to be receptors in these days of reader-response criticism. And it's always a curious exercise to see people to deal with the scope of others over their own -- sorta OP's sub-topic/subplot, you won't probably let me down, I guess (E : -)
  11. What about my description on yours? Do you recognise (with "S" : D) it there?
  12. OK, Mark once you mentioned, here we go : D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifestations_of_postmodernism "(...) Bricolage- building a film like a collage of different film styles and genres." Very typical where most recent tech resources have actually helped that to happen.
  13. Independent arthouse has several possible routes which character-driven is one of those I feel closer to, as well, the incommunicability as subject... where I think both space and time fit in a very special and particular way (E : -)
  14. Suspension of disbelief is not necessarily the only way to arrive there. Take a glance on Brecht approach as for instance with his V-effekt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distancing_effect
  15. What makes that? Filmmaker's skills to begin with? ; -)
  16. What's supposed to infer from there? To blame the arse or the trousers? Are you telling us it is more prone to be device's issue than an operator's error?
  17. This seems to me be the perfect TV camera instead... Pity not 8K, it is outdated, so end of story, folks! LOL : P Sorry, couldn't resist : -)
  18. They are just becoming an industry standard with these products. Another ballpark.
  19. But these models from those two manufacturers in the same market segment compete between each other... Z cam has sat in-between those two models you mention.
  20. Because they would hardly allow a competitor to include it before P4K will feature it as add-on. It doesn't make sense purely from a strict business perspective.
