  1. @Trek of Joy @webrunner5 to each its own... I understand your choice. Not mine at all, though. I am not checking motion, but from those samples? @thebrothersthre3 said it all, without getting the meaning of his find, I see : ) It is not "way softer though" but "way more cinematic actually" ; ) Not for all because we're dealing with subjective perspective on here... ; -) So, don't come to tell me Mavic Pro 2 IQ is lower level once for some other people, it can end to exactly be the contrary... : P Really? Where are the samples?
  2. Here's a fair reason why the IQ difference should be minimal or even none.
  3. The brand label is not the best... I'd have called it White Magic or Light Magic instead. Presumptuous option IMHO. The only darkness I buy is that one from where light pops us : -)
  4. Indeed... But from field testing? Isn't it possible to match the outcome from both birds...? I'd much appreciate to see test footage to concur or deny such fair feeling : -)
  5. @Trek of Joy I disagree, Chris... Good luck anyway, we always know what we need. In any case, I'd appreciate you could show me a single example of your conclusions... : -)
  6. The point is: that's a price list. This doesn't mean they will ever sell a single unit! : -D
  7. Sure not, Yannick! Such complaints only raise either a smile or a loud sigh in my face : ) Alex, as much as every camera out there. That is, it is much likely that another camera will cost much higher if not lots of "much"... BTW take it as mushroom effect. This is anything related to this camera in particular. Every camera requires that or another extra cost. This camera will always cost less than the most camera options. : -)
  8. I firmly disagree. Every single camera needs accessories... Trust me, this camera needs the most affordable accessories you find out there : -)
  9. I don't find it disappointing at all. What similar camera you have for the price? I get more than one solution for everything you've just mentioned... Every single one of them... This camera is still a milestone. You just need to know how to shoot with it : -)
  10. Trust me, I'm afraid that wouldn't be solved, with the early production units at least. To work around is the only way to accept there's no perfect tool. It is up to you to make it work as due now ; -)
  11. Well, to be honest seems to me the most simple alternative is to use microphones without phantom power or use a small mixer to provide that... Don't expect anything else ; -) https://www.dragonimage.com.au/saramonic-smartrig-2-channel-xlr-microphone-audio-mixer.html
  12. That one made to come to my mind a classic:
  13. 1,100 g for Moza Air 1 as much as Zhiyun Tech Weebill Lab with the quirks. Moreover, much more affordable... ; ) Who from here has one to tell us about?!
  14. I've heard Pocket 4K has been used on Moza Air which handles more than 3 Kg BTW: https://www.gudsen.com/moza-air-spec Seems the more interesting and most affordable solution for this camera by now. Any thoughts from any users here? What about how much hard is to set it up?
  15. Really? Here: https://www.thephoblographer.com/2018/09/25/adapter-review-fringer-ef-fx-pro-tested-on-the-fujifilm-x-pro-2/ "The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 that I used with this adapter did alright, functioning as I would expect it to most of the time, but occasionally having a weird glitchy focus or aperture change issue." What's your input from your experience with?
  16. I don't see any inexplicable animosity against them. Only some skepticism from a few more centered in the other contenders. Those they mostly trust and want to feel confident with. It's all about that instead. I see these same usual suspects to salute the efforts of everyone, though. Also because the more players the better features and more affordable the gear is. Customers double their revenue. As well, those participants who understand better their own industry.
  17. "It's a bit like Frankenstein..." (from minute 8:21) LOL : ) @Kisaha You're right, man! : )) We pay we want SOC metamorphosed to SOG : -D
  18. For a simple reason, the matter is not centered on weight but form factor, that is, in two words: design and size. That's all! : ) Seems the doubt is most likely cleared up. Hopefully, Crane 3 LAB addresses the Pocket 4K... without quirks.
  19. I only see advantage for MFT... Small and light gear, much affordable than the larger ones. Even though, FF is here to stay, I bet. APS-C is S35, the best commitment with bokeh you can find for focusing in motion picture.
  20. My fear on the new and small size offer by them... Hope they are fully aware of this new tool without IBIS... but targeted to run-'n-gun filmmaking anyway as no one ever before (go figure 4K RAW for such price ; -)
  21. GH5 is another ballpark and still very capable updated hybrid camera. Without mention, you can serve her with the same glass you use for Pocket 4K. Ignore the hypes, my most honest tip ; ) With fast glass you match APS-C, with a focal reducer, the FF look. Just my 2 cents though : -)
  22. Two comments by my side: - Hybrid should mean IBIS in 2018, so maybe a good reason to wait for 2019 X-H2 ; ) Conclusion: I'd probably go with 6K -> 5K GH5 for now to follow the last firmware AF improvement. - Add a faster glass route other than f/2.8... f/2 for APS-C or f/1.7 for MFT and you'll be just fine on S35 look ; -) It is not hard, is it? : -)
  23. I remind certain old debate on topic I had with another member here (a more frequent Sony user nowadays) once MY's misleading conclusions are dubious IMO (my old rant, I mean, not his camera option I guess and fairly believe a personal of his own anyway, based on Sony's FF route as seems so and much very likely). That's a way more territory of fact than only realm of opinion BTW : -)
  24. Never felt him as more than a mere YT's pop thing. Well, I recall my doubts expressed over these same pages. Unfortunately, people respect his stats more than anything else.
