Let's put all this on rest, OK? Let's focus strictly on the topics please. This is Andrew's house. His good efforts simply don't deserve it. Nor your past contributions and fellowship, Jon! I'd still appreciate to follow your posts and juicy insights over these boards (your readers need you! : ) so refrain yourself to write any personal attacks addressed to others, I guess we all beg you. We are all human beings. Opposite POVs can be written without offending the other side. No one likes to be publicly attacked, isn't it? As much as it is really unpleasant to see you or anyone else to be attacked here too. Only goodwill may able to be considered welcome. Regards to everyone, E :-)

We all hope too LOL : ) Well stated anyways :-)
-
Yes, it is :-)
-
I guess every old member of this forum will have one... Is it really necessary to tell why? ; ) What else gives you such FiLmic look out there? Let's cross the fingers :-)
-
Yes, it is... : ) Finally... *cough cough* Another buyer here :-)
-
I think you've been going really optimistic over there... : D GH5 is a much superior acquisition device in good hands, it doesn't matter how better Fuji IQ seems to be straight out the box, because it is at first glance but not on the paper to begin with. No 4K60p and 10-bit 4:2:2 400Mbps other than that, place both tools in very distinct realms indeed IMO (Mr. Williams didn't. I do. hehe) I'd only appreciate to hear you -- that's all ; ) I'd rather always feel my best bet to listen the others' input. What others have found without letting down my own convictions to coexist as well, even when they don't match in a way or another. Well, it actually depends on the strength of the argument(s) from the other side : ) No need to go further on that one just because it is already too late to infer anything new for the subject matter to my own ; )) These are along GH5S my full top-3 toys as of today. Secrets exist for disclosing up, isn't it? LOL :X Moreover, especially in an open forum like this one. Where voluntary contribution is a natural law, I believe. Or if not, both secrets and forums wouldn't be called like that, I guess ;-) Go figure if Andrew (to only mention the most famous contributor among all of us) would follow such obnoxious spirit... : D No hard feelings, fellow user, that's merely the way I am: a free spirit in the middle of all of you (not alone nor far away to be the only one I hope, once exclusivity can end at the wrong side of the story sometimes ; )) I tend to be the most part I may apply :-)
-
And what about the step up from GH5 to X-H1? IBIS aside, of course, what do you have to express on the differences in-between both toys to you? :-)
-
What about to compare your feelings on them all? Not only as far as IBIS concerns BTW. It is always interesting to see the reasons behind someone buys a new camera tool. Do you want to tell us more about yours? E :-)
-
NAB's coming... Any thoughts, predictions and insights about? BTW facts too :-) Please feel free to post any sort of information on topic you believe it is important to this community. Thanks.
-
Ditto. Another really substantive pearl coming from your posting, mate. This forum would become another thing without your insights, man : ) Filmmaking is actually not based on camera looks but mind stuff to really offer (E :-)
-
That one is such a quote, buddy... LOL (Andrew, fellow, you must extend the quota of likes for us :-)
-
Artwise, perception is basically the whole concept to retain when we dare to extract pictures from the real world we see (E :-)
-
@webrunner5 I'd rather have men driving when I am driving on the road... :-D
-
Perception is mainly the whole concept in fact.
-
REAL... Well, allow me to be picky here too : ) In the narrative world as for instance (but this can apply to Docs as well, it all depends on the aesthetics approach) there's no such thing ;-)
-
Don... man, you are one of my favs over here, you know that : ) Nothing against XH-1, only praising the gift. In my case, a7III has the Sony color tones not of my pleasing. As said so many times here anyway, we can mimic any look nowadays, so not big deal there as well : ) Certain features are much more important than SOOC, I believe we should all know (and beware) of that : )) So for the record, GH5S is in an upper-level, of course. Apples to oranges IMNSHO (E :-)
-
Well, I once attended a pinhole workshop for motion picture technique @ Avanca International Film Festival about two decades ago. Lovely experience indeed BTW :-)
-
All of them had a colorist. My friend, my first basis for filmmaking background of my own is based on full 3-years training exactly in that field specialty (post) @ Lisbon Film School. Film, not even digital video. For the most part of it, in those old times. E :-)
-
All of them, except for home videos too (at times :D)
-
LOL Lovely to be within back to teens again. Now my turn to be out of likes for tonight, pal :-)
-
Depends on the shooter skills, of course. No free soup : ) Grading is part of the filmmaking process, so no surprise there. It is no SOOC though :-)
-
It is the magic to see something to immediately pop up from vacuum, I guess : D Fuji's mojo. SOOC is a dream to come true there. GH5S is a way further another animal... The best bang for the buck, not exactly the synonymous for the X-H1 top hat ;-)
-
Don't forget AF, David! LOL (never thought to come here writing it... hehe let's not ignore the 179 hack :-D) You've just forgotten Fuji, Don! (E ;-)
-
A good old partner of mine has one of them. He's very happy with it. Avoid higher than ISO800 and you'll be just fine :-)
-
As simple as: avoid VLog on GH series. HLG is your friend, no reason to complain :-)
