Updated there -- just follow the links : ) More shallow DOF, you say? You can match both GH5 and a6300 / a6500 using a Metabones / Speedbooster type adapter or going with faster glass (large apertures). Other than that, go on Sony's APS-C sensor size camp.

Filmmaking is a combination of circumstances for sure. But, I don't think it is the case of glass here, we both bet ; ) To my eyes, the secret there is on post production, I'd say. Once he says he's not using any NR on post, I guess grading can help him out too. Without mention he refers he's overexposing V-log 1-2 stops in-camera, so maybe that's there a good trick to handle it. Have you already tested the tip?

Here's another one. No idea if Round or Square Front versions... I guess Round front but it surely is a Lomo anamorphic 50mm lens behind that outcome 'too' as posted there: To me, this is the best combo out there. No other camera offers that in such price and versatility range.
